어머니 취업여부에 따른 자녀의 영양소 섭취 수준과 비만 유병률 비교 - 국민건강영양조사 자료(2013-2015년) 활용 - (Children's Food Intake and Nutrition Levels, and Obesity by Maternal Employment: Based on the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2013-2015)

  • Objectives: This study examines the intake of food and nutrients of children according to the employment and working hours of their mothers. Methods: The married women in the source data from the 6th National Health and Nutrition Survey were classified into full-time working mothers, part-time working mothers and housewives according to the working type and the data on their children from 3 to 18 years old were analyzed using SAS 9.4. Results: The group from 3 to 5 years old was the smallest group with 682 children (20.2%), followed by the group from 6 to 11 years with 1,345 children (39.8%) and the group from 12 to 18 years old with 1,355 children (40.1%). The lowest rates for having no breakfast and dinner were observed in the group with housewives (p<0.05). The calcium and phosphorous intakes were the highest in the group with housewives at 61.9% and 126.8%, respectively, and the lowest in the group with full-time working mothers at 54.7% and 115.3%, respectively (p<0.05). The group with full-time working mothers had the highest rate in the calcium and iron intake less than the dietary reference intake at 74.9% and 30.0%, respectively. It indicated that the group with full-time working mothers did not have sufficient nutrients as compared to the other two groups. Moreover, the group with the part-time working mothers showed the high vitamin A intake ratio of 41.4% (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study found evidence of a negative association between mother's employment status and children's diet quality. The employment and economic activity of married women will continuously increase in the future. Therefore, a national nutrition policy is required to provide quality nutrition care for children in the households.

일부 우리나라 성인의 대사성증후군의 유병률과 허리둘레 예측치 (Prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome and Waist Circumference Estimation in Some Korean Adults)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to estimate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome, as defined by the ATP III report, in some Korean adults and use the Asian-Pacific proposed waist circumference to investigate waist circumference in some Korean adults using ROC curves. Methods : Study subjects were seventy-five thousands and ninety one persons(47,979 men and 27,111 women) who were selected among the patients who visited hospital for health evaluation from January 2000 to December 2001. All subjects were measured by height, weight, waist and hip circumferences, blood pressure and blood chemistry(lipid profile). Results : The mean age was $41.6{\pm}8.5$ years in men, $41.1{\pm}10.4$ years in women(p<0.05). Body mass index was in the normal range in 35.3% of men, and 55.9% of women. In both men and women, blood pressure, blood sugar, total cholesterol and triglyceride were positively correlated with BMI. waist circumference, and Broca's index(p<0.01). However HDL. choloesterol was correlated negatively (p< 0.01). Using ROC curve, the calculated waist circumferences were 84 cm in men(sensitivity 61.4% and specificity 64.1%) and 74 cm in women(sensitivity 65.0% and specificity 73.2%). The age adjusted prevalences of the metabolic syndrome as defined by NCEP ATP III were different for men(6.4%) and women(14.6%). The prevalence increased from 1.2% among participants aged 20 through 29years to 15.0% among participants aged over 60years in men(p<0.05) and from 1.6% to 27.4% respectively, in women. The age adjusted prevalences, as defined by using the waist circumference that was recommended by WHO's regional office for the western Pacific, were 10.6% in men and 18.5% in women. The age adjusted prevalences, as defined by using the waist circumference that was calculated by the ROC curves, were 17.1% in men and 22.4% in women. And All prevalences were increased following increased BMI and Broca's index. Conculsions : The prevalence of metabolic syndrome in some Korean adults was lower than that in western adults. Nevertheless because waist circumference was differed among race and region, application of the same criteria was not proper. Morcover, a higher awareness was required in women, because the prevalence of metabolic syndrome was rapidly increased with increment of age.

Bergamot과 Grapefruit essential oil의 관리 시 자연광 노출에 따른 혈청 및 표피층 단백질 분석 (Analysis of Blood Serum and Epidermis Proteins by Exposure of Nature Lays on Treatments Bergamot af Grapefruit Essential Oil)

  • The result of the study for essential oil(Bergamot, Grapefruit essential oil)'s Anaiysis of Blood Serum Epidermis proteins by exposure of nature lays on treatments are as follows. 1. There is no significant difference between control group and the groups treated by essential oil in feed efficiency, but in water intake, there are significant differences between each group. Water intake of the groups treated by Bergamot and Grapefruit essential oil without treatment by sun cream is higher than that of any other group. It is presented that the effect of losing water of the surface of skin is related to the balance effect of water. 2. As a result of serum analysis without applied UV-rays, the total cholesterol in the groups treated by Bergamot essential oil is higher than that of the groups treated by Grapefruit essential oil. It is showed that the dissolution of cellulite of Grapefruit essential oil is stronger than that of Bergamot essential oil. After applied UV-rays, however, the change of total cholesterol of the groups treated by Bergamot essential oil is lower than that of the groups treated by Grapefruit essential oil, namely, the group treated by Bergamot essential oil drops is used to make sebum membrane on the surface of skin, so the quantity of influx into blood vessel was low. With the result that, atherosclerotic index(A.I) also was low in the group treated by Grapefruit essential oil. In the aspect of increasing cholesterol for obesity treatment, it was judged that the effect of treatment with Bergamot essential oil is somewhat slower than that with Grapefruit essential oil, but it is safer than the effect of treatment with Grapefruit essential oil in the aspect of health. 3. As a result of protein analysis, the groups applied UV-rays in the group of treated by Bergamot essential oil, the biggest change of protein's band was appeared under part of 20.0 1Kd in the change pattern of protein. As the trend of changing protein at the groups treated by SPF 15 and 30 was similar to that of the groups of the control, it was showed that the effect of sun cream can prevent the change of the composition of skin. In the groups treated by Grapefruit essential oil, after the groups treated by Grapefruit essential oil applied UV-rays, the biggest change of protein's bend was appeared the upper part of 43Kd in the change pattern of protein. It was also judged that it means the change of the composition of skin. However, the trend of changing protein at the groups treated by SPF 15 and 30 was also similar to that of the groups of the control. Eventually, it was also showed that it can prevent the change of the composition of skin by the effect of sun cream.

전당뇨병 대상자의 유제품 및 어패류 섭취와 대사증후군 위험인자와의 관련성 연구 : 2015년 제 6기 국민건강영양조사 자료를 바탕으로 (Relationship between dairy products, fish and shellfish intake and metabolic syndrome risk factors in prediabetes: based on the sixth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES VI-3) 2015)

  • 본 연구는 2015년 KNHANES 자료를 이용하여 30~64세 전당뇨병 대상자들의 유제품 및 어패류의 식품섭취와 대사증후군 위험인자와의 관련성을 분석하였다. 전당뇨병군과 혈당 정상군의 일반적인 특성에서 대사증후군 위험인자 관련 생화학적 지표가 유의적 차이를 보였다. 전당뇨병군의 유제품 섭취량에 따라 분석한 결과, 유제품 섭취 중앙값 (187.0 g) 이상 대상자의 대사증후군 위험인자 중 혈중 TC 수준과 양의 연관성을 보였다. 총 에너지 섭취량, 탄수화물, 단백질, 지방, MUFAs 및 무기질 섭취량은 중앙값 이상 대상자에서 유의적으로 높았으나, 대사증후군 위험인자에 대한 보호효과는 유의적이지 않았다. 어패류 섭취량에 따른 대사증후군 위험인자와의 연관성을 분석한 결과 BP와 혈중 LDL-C 수준은 중앙값 이상 섭취하였을 때 상승할 확률이 유의적으로 감소하였다. 따라서 섭취 유제품의 유형과 함유성분을 고려한 연구 수행이 필요할 것으로 보이며, 어패류는 식사의 반찬으로 제공되는 경우가 많기 때문에 적절한 섭취량 뿐 아니라 조리방법과 함께 섭취하는 식품에 대한 추가 분석을 수행하여 건강에 미치는 효과를 명확하게 규명할 연구수행이 수반되어야 할 것이다.

도시지역 일부 여자고등학생들의 월경통과 관련요인 (Dysmenorrhea and Its Related Factors among Women's High School Srudents in an Urban Area)

  • Purpose: The present study intended to reveal the association between the physique of adolescent women and dysmenorrhea, and the factors related to the frequency of dysmenorrhea. Methods: The study subjects included 511 girls of a women's high school in Daejeon city and they were, during the period of March 1st through April 30th, 2005, given self-administered questionnaires about frequency of menstruation, age, physique, exercise, and such menstruation-related items as age of menarche, menstrual period and days, and amount. Results: As with the frequency of dysmenorrhea, 38.4% experienced it 「always」, 44.6% 「occasionally」, and 17.0% 「almost scarcely」, and those with dysmenorrhea accounted for 83.0% of the subjects. The frequency of dysmenorrhea was not significant difference according to the BMI and HPI. However, the lower the age of menarche and the greater the amount of menstrual flow, the more frequent dysmenorrhea. The symptoms of dysmenorrhea included the highest frequency of low back pain(68.5%) and it was followed by abdominal pain(65.9%), sensibility(54.0%), fatigue(51.7%), and nervousness(49.5%). These accompanied symptoms tended to be worse as the frequency of dysmenorrhea increased. The multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that the relative risk of frequency of dysmenorrhea is 2.2 times in age of 14, by a standard age of 15 as menarchial age, 2.2 in 13, and 3.1 in below 12. The menstrual days was 3.0 times in both below 2 days and over 8 days with the standard days of 3-7 days. The menstrual amount was 1.9 times in the group with a greater amount of menstrual bleeding and 1.5 times in the group with a less amount than the normal group, respectively. Conclusion: The above results suggest that the rate of experiencing dysmenorrhea was up to 83.0% and 38.4% from these had dysmenorrhea upon every menstruation. It is thought that dysmenorrhea could be a great disadvantage sufficient to impair optimal health to a larger body of school girls. Further, for quality of life, it is required that more fundamental strategies instead of pain killers or others for palliation of dysmenorrhea would be established among adolescents.

발효굴 섭취가 중년 여성의 신체조성, 근력 및 혈중 근성장 인자에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Fermented Oyster Extract Supplementation on Body Composition, Muscular Strengths and Blood Muscle Growth Fact ors in Elderly Women)

  • Crassostrea gigas were fermented using L. brevis BJ20 to prepare fermented oyster extract (FO). The participants of this study were randomly assigned to FO and placebo (CON) groups. The FO group was given 1.0 g of FO supplementation and the CON group was given sucrose each day for eight weeks. The effects of FO supplementation on body composition, muscula r strength, and blood factors associated with muscle growth were assessed. The FO supplement was enriched with arginine (6,183.3 mg), phenylalanine (217.9 mg), leucine (122.6 mg), isoleucine (59.8 mg), valine (16.4 mg), and γ-amino butyric acid (GABA, 1,053.7 mg). The total fat was significantly decreased in the FO group compared with the CON group (p < 0.05). 60D/S Ext.T/Wo rk and 60D/S Flex.T/Work concomitantly with 60D/S Flex.PeakTQ/BW were significantly increase d by FO treatment compared to CON group (p < 0.05). However, posture stability was not significa ntly different between the groups. The levels of angiotensin-converting enzyme were significantly decreased within the FO group (p < 0.05). The FO group showed significantly decreased levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and increased levels of human growth hormone compared with the CON group (p < 0.01). The levels of insulin-like growth factor-1 increased (p < 0.01) in the FO group while that of creatine kinase and triglyceride decreased significantly compared with the CON group (p < 0.05). These results demonstrated that FO supplementation is effective in preventing sarcopenic obesity and maintaining and strengthening muscular function in elderly wom en. Hence, FO supplements can be used as functional ingredients for these benefits.

서울시내 여고생들의 비만도에 따른 영양상태와 식습관에 관한 연구 (A Study on Nutritional Status and Food Habits According to Obese Index of High School Girls in Seoul)

  • 서울시내 일부 지역의 여고생들을 대상으로 일반 환경, 식생활 환경, 영양소 섭취실태를 설문 조사하여 조사대상자들의 영향섭취와 각 변인과의 관계를 연구하였다. 조사대상자의 부모연령은 40~49세인 경우가 가장 많았고, 학력은 고졸이 높게 나타났으며 동거 가족 수는 4~5명, 가족의 한달 수입은 100~150만원이 가장 많았고, 일주일 용돈은 5천원 이상이 45.8%이었다. 평균신장은 160.2cm, 평균체중은 52.3kg, 비만도는 96.8, BMI지수는 20.3, R hrer지수는 1.27이었으며 전체적으로 저체중 쪽으로 기울어 있었다. 또한 조사대상자들은 자신의 바람직한 체중을 표준체중보다 낮게 설정하고 있었으며 저체중군과 정상군일수록 비율이 높았다.(P<0.001) 한편 식습관 점수는 44.17점으로 낮았고 46.7%가 poor group에 속해 식습관이 불량하였다. 1일 1인당 섭취열량은 권장량의 86.4%인 1814kcal, 단백질은 107.7%인 70g을 섭취한 것으로 나타났다. 단백질과 비타민 A, 비타민 C를 제외한 대부분의 영양소는 권장량에 미치지 못하였다. 영양소 섭취에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 부모의 학력과 월 총 수입, 식사 횟수, 간식 횟수, 식습관 점수 등였다. 식습관 점수는 부모의 학력, 수입이 증가할수록 높았고 식습관 점수가 높을수록 1일 식사 횟수, 간식 횟수도 증가하였다. 이상을 종합해보면 조사대상 여고생들은 자신의 체형을 정확히 판단하지 못하고, 자신에게 바람직한 체중도 낮게 설정하고 있고, 올바르지 못한 식습관과 영양소 섭취 실태를 보이고 있다. 여고생들이 불량한 식습관과 저체중 선호하는 경향이 다음의 성인기로 이어져 자유로운 식행동을 하게 될 경우 더 큰 문제점을 야기시킬 것으로 생각된다. 그러므로 건강한 체형에 대한 바른 판단과 올바른 식습관의 정립을 위하여 학교와 가정에서의 영양교육이 필요하다.

생마 저온부패 원인세균의 분리 및 부패균의 특성 (Isolation and Characterization of Yam-Putrefactive Psychrotrophic Bacteria from Rotted Yam)

  • 본 연구는 부패 생마로부터 저온성 부패균을 분리, 동정하고 분리균의 생육특성과 다양한 효소의 부패관련성을 조사하여, 생마 저온 장기저장 및 생마 가공식품 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제시할 목적으로 수행되었다. 저온 장기저장중의 부패생마로부터 서로 다른 13종의 저온세균을 분리, 동정하였으며, 다양한 온도에서 생마 절편을 이용한 부패력 측정 결과 분리균주 중 YAM-10및 YAM-12균주가 저온부패에 직접적으로 관련됨을 확인하였으며, 이들은 각각 Pseudomonas cepacia 및 Pseudomonas rhodesiae 동정되었다. 이들 균주는 20$^{\circ}C$에서도 우수한 amylase, CMCase, xylanase 활성을 나타내었으며 , 특히 amylase 활성은 생마 부패에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 판단되었다. YAM-10 및 YAM-12균주는 양파절편을 부패시키지는 못하였으며, 4$\sim$12$^{\circ}C$의 온도에서도 생육가능하며, pH 5 이하 및 pH 10 이상에서는 생육이 급격히 억제되었다. 현재 생마의 저온 장기저장 및 부패억제를 위한 저온성 Pseudomonas sp.의 제어와 생마부패에 관련되는 효소들의 특성과 저해에 대한 연구 및 저장성, 관능성이 강화된 산장, 염장 등을 통한 생마 가공식품 개발이 진행 중이다.

'의료화'에서 '생의료화'로: 정신장애의 사례 (From 'Medicalization' to 'Biomedicalization': the Case of Mental Disorder)

  • 지난 40여 년 동안 의료에 대한 사회과학의 지배적 관점은 '의료화' 이론이었는데, 이는 비의학적 현상으로 취급되던 문제(예: 동성애, 알코올중독, 비만 등)를 질병으로 재정의하여 의학적 개입의 영역으로 포함시킴으로써 의료전문가의 권력이 확대되는 사회적 과정을 가리켰다. 그런데 1980년대 중반 이후 의료 분야에서 생물과학과 정보기술의 확산에 따른 급속한 기술과학적 변화와 이와 연관된 생명경제 등 새로운 사회적 배치의 출현은 최근 '생의료화' 이론이라는 새로운 사회과학적 관점을 대두되게 하였다. 이 논문에서는 현대 의료에 대한 사회학적 및 과학기술학적 이해를 심화시키기 위한 기본 작업의 하나로서 의료화 이론과 생의료화 이론을 비교하고 그 장 단점을 평가해보고자 하였다. 그리고 또한 이 중에서 어떤 이론이 더 적실성이 있는가를 정신장애의 사례를 통해서 분석하고자 하였다. 분석의 결과, 적어도 정신장애의 경우에 의료화는 19세기 초부터 오늘날까지 지속적으로 전개되어 온 것이 확실한 것으로 보인다. 또한 20세기 말부터 현재까지는 생의료화 이론에서 주장하는 다섯 가지의 핵심적 과정들도 대체로 관찰되며 실현되고 있는 것으로(정신장애에 대한 위험 감시의 기술을 제외하곤) 보인다. 이것은 의료화가 지속적으로 관철은 되어 왔지만, 단지 의료적 영역의 양적 확대가 아니라 생의료화 이론에서 주장하는 질적 변형이 일어나고 있다는 사실을 말해주는 것이다. 따라서 의료화의 개념이 비록 오늘날에도 타당하고 중요하지만 그것만으로는 적절하고 충분하게 포착되지 않는 새로운 현상들을 생의료화의 개념이 포착할 수 있게 만든다고 인정할 수 있다.

양하분말을 이용한 녹두묵 제조 및 품질 평가 (Quality Characteristics of Nokdumook using Yangha(Zingiber mioga R.) Powder)

  • This study was performed to develop a therapeutic diet against aging and obesity, using Yangha(Zingiber mioga R.). Before development of a therapeutic diet, we performed cell viability assay, analysis of general composition, macrominerals and antioxidantive activities of Yangha. Based on the findings from analyzing the results, mook using Yangha powder(0~20%) was processed, and tested for quality characteristics such as color values, sensory evaluation and mechanical properties. The result of cell viability assay of myoga, using liver cells, revealed that within the concentration range from 500 ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$ to 10,000 ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$, cell survivability increased in line with the concentration rate. Therefore, it will not be harmful to consume it as food. Regarding the normal substance of myoga, the water substance of myoga was 94%, which exceeds that of ginger and tumeric with 89% and 83%, respectively. As for crude protein, fat, carbon hydrates and ash, myoga contained less than the other two, which I think is due to the high water substance. Regarding the minerals, potassium had the highest contents among macrominerals of 234.74 mg%. As for the antioxidant test, hydroxy radical scavenging activity and superoxide radical scavenging activity were shown. As for the production of Yangha mook(Yangha powder levels were 0~20%) for quality characteristics, the more of the powder, the less the L, but the greater the a and b values. Also, for the material property, an increased amount of the powder, resulted in chewiness and springiness, but less gumminess in a correlated manner. However, there were no significant differences in the springiness and cohesiveness in relation to the powder. For the sensory test, jelly type ZM5 with 5% powder showed highest overall preference. According to the sensory test, based on the powder substance, the jelly with 5% powder showed the highest overall score, including preference.
