  • This study proposes a decorative typeface which is produced through the concept of trigonometric functions in an open-source programming language known as Processing. First, the theoretical background of Processing and trigonometric functions as well as previous research in this area are analyzed. Second, basic modules of 'V', 'I', 'O', and 'M' were created for use as the final alphabet typeface with the concept of a trigonometric function. Third, a decorative parabolic curve that encircles the base module was created. Finally, the modules created on Processing were edited in Adobe Illustrator to create a typeface set with characters from A to Z. Various artworks using Programming can produce an infinite number of different versions by modifying only some of the variables and codes, and this method can include multimedia features such as text, images, videos, interactive art and various forms of content and media. Therefore, with regard to expression, the possibilities are endless. In this study, I attempt to expand the field of visual culture using programming and computational methodologies. In contrast to the digital typeface production method, which relies on existing graphic tools, this study is meaningful because it expands the range of use of decorative typefaces.

Semi-fingerprinting을 위한 강인한 이미지 워터마킹 알고리즘 및 시스템 구조 (A Robust Image Watermarking Algorithm and System Architecture for Semi-fingerprinting)

  • 본 논문에서는 대역확산 방식을 응용한 새로운 워터마킹 기법과 이를 이용한 semi-fingerprinting 시스템 구조를 제시하며, 특히, 저작권 보호에 주초점이 맞추어져 있는 워터마크 기술을 fingerprinting 분야에 적용함으로써 그 동안 학문연구에 그치고 있었던 워터마크 기술을 보다 현실적인 응용에까지 확대시키기 위한 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 워터마킹 기법은 대역확산 방식중 random number shift 방법을 이용하여 데이터 삽입량을 증가시키는 방법의 일종이며, 삽입되는 데이터량이 60-bits이고, 20-bits CRC코드를 이용하여 추출된 정보의 신뢰도를 높였다. 또한, semi-fingerprinting에 적용하기 위해서 cIDf(content ID forum)의 지침을 기반으로 워터마크를 구성하였다.

패션 비즈니스에서 홀로그램 기술을 이용한 마케팅 활용 방안 (The Application Methods of Hologram Technology in Fashion Business)

  • This study analyzed cases that applied hologram technology in the fashion industry in order to provide basic information for research on fashion marketing using hologram technology. The results of this study are as follows. A hologram was applied to fashion businesses in various ways including fashion shows, outdoor signboards, hologram windows or screens in stores, and launching shows or exhibitions. Most of these cases were foreign fashion brands, which utilized hologram technology actively for formulating a new brand image or for advertising products. Among Korean brands, however, there are not many cases of hologram application. Today, as-being the age of smart devices, the mobile advertisement market is growing rapidly among smart phone users. DKNY and Puma are providing information on styling through smart phone applications, and the Adidas stores in Germany also allow the customers to buy goods by entering a simple code through the smart phone. Recently, new devices are being introduced one by one, which display 2D digital contents in 3D holograms by combining mobile and hologram technologies. The marketing of fashion products is not just for supplying products but is required to satisfy the consumers' five senses. Therefore, the development of experiential contents based on the combination of mobile and hologram technologies will open new potential for profitable business models.

몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 이용한 산란보정 방법들에 대한 비교 (The comparisons of three scatter correction methods using Monte Carlo simulation)

  • 단일광자방출촬영 (SPECT) 에 대한 산란보정은 영상질을 개선하고 영상을 정량분석하는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 에너지 창을 이용한 세 가지 산란보정들에 대해 조사하는 것이었다. 몬테카를로 방법을 이용하여 Tc-99m에서 방출되는 광자의 history를 발생시키는 점선원과 Jaszack 팬텀에 대해 시뮬레이션하였다. 시뮬레이션을 위한 SPECT 시스템의 섬광체 NaI(T1) 는 두께 0.95 cm, 40 $\times$ 45 cm이었고, 조준기는 저에너지용 조준기를 사용하였다. 140 keV 에서 SPECT 에 대한 에너지 분해능은 9.8 %, 고유공간분해능은 0.32 cm 이었고, 화소크기는 0.3 $\times$ 0.3 $cm^2$이었다. 산란보정방법에는 컴프턴창을 이용한 방법 (CW), 세 개의 에너지창을 이용한 방법 (TW), 그리고 이중 광봉우리창을 이용한 방법 (DPW)을 사용하였다. DPW의 다항식 계수를 구하기 위해서 직경 20 cm인 팬텀안에서 깊이에 따라 점선원을 위치시켜 평면 영상을 얻었다. 에너지 창은 w1 = 92-125 keV, w2 = 124-126 keV, w3 = 126-140 keV, w4 = 140-154 keV, w5 = 154-156 keV으로 설정하였다. SPECT 투사영상은 360$^{\circ}$ 회전모드로 하여 120개를 얻었다. 회전반경은 15 cm이었다. 산란보정방법들은 삼중 에너지창을 이용한 방법은 cold sphere를 가진 Jaszack phantom 에서 참값에 가장 가까운 대조도를 주었고, hot sphere를 가진 Jaszack phantom에서 image recovery에 있어서 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 컴프턴 창을 이용한 방법은 대조도에 있어서 참값보다 과대평가되어 나타났고 이중 광봉우리창을 이용한 방법은 산란보정하기 전에 비해 대조 도는 좋아졌지만 참값에 비해 과소평가되어 나타났다. 조사된 세 가지 보정방법들은 개선된 영상 대조도를 보여주었다. 결론적으로, 산란보정에 대한 임상적용을 위해서는 SPECT 시스템에 실행하기 용이한 보정방법을 선택해하며, 정확한 정량분석을 위해서는 산란보정이 수행되어야 할 것이다.

심볼마커를 사용한 딥러닝 기반 모바일 응용 UI 요소 인식 (UI Elements Identification for Mobile Applications based on Deep Learning using Symbol Marker)

  • 최근 딥러닝을 사용하여 스케치이미지에 있는 GUI(Graphical User Interface) 요소를 인식하여 어플리케이션 구현에 필요한 코드를 자동 생성하는 연구 등이 있다. UI/UX 디자이너는 모바일 응용 프로그램 개발 시 스토리보드를 개발자와의 의사소통을 돕는 도구로 사용하나 모호한 위젯에 대해서는 UI/UX 디자이너의 의도와 다르게 구현되는 경우가 종종 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 DNN(Deep Neural Network) 기반의 GUI 요소 식별의 정확성을 높이기 위해 심볼마커를 사용하는 자동 GUI 요소 인식 기법을 제안한다. 심볼마커의 성능평가를 위해 심볼마커의 유무에 따라 실험을 진행하여 정확도를 평가하였고, 정확도 개선을 위해 원형과 괄호형으로 나누어 심볼마커 모양에 따른 결과를 분석하였다. 심볼마커를 사용한다면 개발자에게 정확한 의사 전달이 가능해져 피드백이 줄면서 시간과 비용이 감소하고 스케치이미지의 UI 요소 오탐률을 줄이고 정확성이 향상될 것으로 기대한다.

의류 광고에 나타난 상표 이미지의 코드 분석 (An Analysis of Codes on Brand Image in Fashion Advirtsing)

  • In this thesis which takes fashion advertising that functions a marketing communication as an objective, I try to bear witness to the signifying system of garments though analyzing with semiotic methodology the signifying procedure on the base of the structural concept of Ferdinand de Saussure and the advertisement semiotic theory of Roland Barthes, to make clear their signifying structure and it meaning by understanding the characteristics of contemporary society and its cognitive system. Each sign of fashion advertising transfers the brand image through syntagmatic signification which contains the mythology of goods. Mannish style is encoded as tailored jacket, white shirt, H-silhouette and pants, non-color or being color, and it is presented as a clothing sign of casual wear for career women. Feminine style is encoded as X-silhouette, soutien collar suit style, various colors, and other details with womanly image, and it is presented as a clothing sign for maid or young wife 20\`s or 30\`s. Formal style is encoded as jacket vest, inner wear(blouse), two and three piece dress by pants or skirt and one-piece dress, and it is used in every age and class. Casual style is similar to formal style, but differs only in textile code. Clothing sign for housewives in middle age is encoded as H-silhouette of formal style, long jacket and pants and brown, being and grey colors. Contemporary popular phenomena in the signification of fashion advertising, and its temporal ideology reflected are as follows; According to the context of fashion advertising in the middle of 1990\`s, its fashion is that first, military look applied from the designs of various sort of military uniform and vest look and pant style applied from dandy-style imitated from man\`s wear are popuar. This mean that it reflects the change of point of view on woman\`s role in society today. That is, due to the equality between man and woman, it mirrors the ideology of feminism, and then, describes beautifully professional woman with carrer. Second, because that individualism is underlied for the change of consumer\`s consciousness, standardized popularity is disappeared, and in accordance with the mixture of various trends and personalities proposed every season, layered look that emphasizes individualism, easiness and naturalness is popular.

Aerosol Optical Thickness Retrieval Using a Small Satellite

  • This study demonstrates the feasibility of small satellite, namely PROBA platform with the compact high resolution imaging spectrometer (CHRIS), for aerosol retrieval in Hong Kong. The rationale of our technique is to estimate the aerosol reflectances by decomposing the Top of Atmosphere (TOA) reflectances from surface reflectance and Rayleigh path reflectances. For the determination of surface reflectances, the modified Minimum Reflectance Technique (MRT) is used on three winter ortho-rectified CHRIS images: Dec-18-2005, Feb-07-2006, Nov-09-2006. For validation purpose, MRT image was compared with ground based multispectral radiometer measurements and atmospherically corrected Landsat image. Results show good agreements between CHRIS-derived surface reflectance and both by ground measurement data as well as by Landsat image (r>0.84). The Root-Mean-Square Errors (RMSE) at 485, 551 and 660nm are 0.99%, 1.19%, and 1.53%, respectively. For aerosol retrieval, Look Up Tables (LUT) which are aerosol reflectances as a function of various AOT values were calculated by SBDART code with AERONET inversion products. The CHRIS derived Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT) images were then validated with AERONET sunphotometer measurements and the differences are 0.05~0.11 (error=10~18%) at 440nm wavelength. The errors are relatively small compared to those from the operational moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) Deep Blue algorithm (within 30%) and MODIS ocean algorithm (within 20%).

  • This study, as discussed herein, tries to understand how modern commercial buildings occur and develop in certain type of social and cultural conditions. There are many words standing for modern society, of which the most remarkable one is 'commercial society'. Commercial society is where goods are manufactured to one's taste and consumption is a way of communication and a way of discriminating one from the others by using different code. Nowadays, architecture gets more and more popular and becomes commercial object which is intended to the sign of the social meaning. So, the sign of commercial buildings varies according to the social and cultural backgrounds and kitsch is applicable to it. The original meaning of kitsch, which usually is considered an inferior copy of an existing style, is examined and applied to architecture in order for comprehension. Throughout this study, the types of commercial buildings are selected and immanent meaning to the psychology of consumers as applicable to commercial buildings is considered. Also, the trend of kitsch in commercial buildings is analyzed by classifying the image and code of a building's shape. In a conclusion of the study, two major points can be found; commercial building has a significant meaning in terms of design, and commercial building is the conceptual result of a continuous change in the relationship between society and art.

PIV 기법을 이용한 모형철도터널 직관덕트에서 유동 분포 계측 및 수치해석 결과와의 비교분석 (MEASUREMENT OF FLOW DISTRIBUTION IN A STRAIGHT DUCT OF RAILWAY TUNNEL MOCK-UP USING PIV AND COMPARISON WITH NUMERICAL SIMULATION)

  • The turbulent flows in a tunnel mock-up($10L{\times}0.5W{\times}0.25H$ m3 : scale reduction 1/20) with rectangular cross section were investigated. The instantaneous velocity fields of Re = 49,029, 89,571 were measured by the 2-D PIV system which is consisted of double pulsed Nd:Yag laser and the tracer particles in the straight-duct mock-up where the flows were fully developed. The mean velocity profiles were taken from the ensemble averages of 1,000 instantaneous velocity fields. Simultaneously, numerical simulations(RANS) were performed to compare with experimental data using STREAM code. Non-linear eddy viscosity model (NLEVM : Abe-Jang-Leschziner Eddy Viscosity Model) was employed to resolve the turbulent flows in the duct. The calculated mean velocity profiles were well compared with PIV results. In the log-law profiles, the experimental data were in good agreement with numerical simulations all the way to the wake region except the viscous sub-layer (near wall region).

현대패션에 반영된 퓨젼이미지에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fusion Image Reflected upon Modern Fashions)

  • These new Phenomenon influences with the new terminology 'fusion' on the way of our life in all areas of our society including the clothes and foods. Along with post-structuralism, which aims at diversification and senses deconstructionalism is a characteristic of this time post-structuralism is based upon the deconstructionalism. Especially the arts in the modern society which is called an information-oriented society lack the totality of a text and become fragmentary, and therefore it follows that traditional values are destroyed and at last a new code such as fusion which is incomprehensible if we would be in mono-linear perspective. Dislikes toward excessively formative and orthodox elements of modern pictures and constructs ; features of kitschs and subcultures against materialism are revealed in diverse objects and materialism. In such a situation of mingling of diversifications with no time to evaluate an object, another diverse forms come into the world and there is no room for evaluating. Therefore, this study will make a light on what are tendencies in the fashion design from the end of 20C to the beginning of 21C, and foreground the concept of fusion in modern fashion which is relevant with digitals and its generative background.
