  • This study was conducted to examine the change of flora and plant species diversity between 2005 and 2010 in Yangjaecheon (stream) which was divided among three different types of vegetation management method; ecological vegetation management (weeding vines and invasive plants; EVM), plant cultivation (PC) and uncared for vegetation (UC). There were total 478 taxa, composed by 429 spontaneous taxa and 49 cultivated taxa in 2005 and total 424 taxa composed by 318 spontaneous taxa and 106 cultivated taxa in 2010. In spontaneous plants, 201 taxa were distributed over total area, 197 taxa were distributed in only EVM area, 10 taxa in only PC area and 59 taxa in only UC area. Also, the most dominant family (Asteraceae${\rightarrow}$Poaceae) and number of rare taxa (reduced) and wide distributed taxa (increased) was changed from 2005 to 2010. The rate of perennial taxa was found to be increased in only EVM area. In conclusion, EVM is thought to be a more efficient method for plant species diversity of restored stream.

  • The distribution and standing crop of phytoplankton were investigated at 12 stations of Songjiho, Ssangho, Maeho and Hyangho as of four lagoons in the east coast from May to November, 2001. It turned out to be total of 164 taxa, and classified as four phylums, four classes, 14 orders, 20 families, 59 genera, 139 species, 22 varieties, two forms and 1 unidentified species by Engler's classification system. Among 104 taxa, 16 taxa including Oscillatoria chlorina were identified as indicators of water pollution and only Cocconeis placentula was the indicator of the clean water. Standing crops of all stations investigated appeared to be relatively high values. Based on the present study upon the distribution and standing crop of phytoplankton, it is regarded as the state of the eutrophication in Songjiho, Ssangho, Maeho and Hyangho as of four lagoons in the east coast.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the flowering characteristics of 22 soybean (Glycine max Merrill) varieties of North Korea and classify the flowering group by the flowering date. The flowering date and the days required for flowering with the different planting times on May 31, June 19, June 30, July 3, and July 4 were investigated at the agricultural experimental field of Korea University for three years from 2017 to 2019. The flowering date and the days for flowering of "Yeonpungkong", an early maturing soybean cultivar of Korea, were July 18 and 48 days, respectively, at the planting time of May 31, those of "Daewonkong", a mid-late maturing cultivar, were July 30 and 60 days, respectively. Based on the flowering dates of "Yeonpungkong" and "Daewonkong", North Korean soybean varieties were classified into six flowering groups. Eight North Korean soybean varieties had the flowering dates earlier than "Yeonpungkong", including "Brekkhat" classified into the early flowering group. The range of flowering date was July 2 to 15 at planting time of May 31. Twelve North Korean soybean varieties had flowering dates similar to or later than "Daewonkong", including "Chang Dan Bac Mok" classified into the mid-late flowering group. The range of flowering date was July 24 to 30 at the planting time of May 31. For flowering response to environmental stimulus, all of the mid-late flowering varieties of North Korea responded to "photosensitive or day-length" for flowering reaction. The early flowering varieties were divided by "photosensitive" response and "temperature" response variety.

  • This study was done to identify the evaluation of CPSCS for neurocritical patients and provide effective nursing interventions for these patients. Data were collected from medical records of 203 neurocritical patients over 18 years of age who were admitted to the ICU of C University Hospital during the period from January 2008 to May 2009 and from October 2011 to December 2011. Collected data were analyzed through t-test, ANOVA test, Person's correlation analysis, trend analysis, stepwise multiple regression. The average CPSCS score was $112.09{\pm}18.91$ and there was a significant trendency for higher severity to lead to higher CPSCS's scores(survival: J-T:9.795, die: J-T:5.415, p=<.001). The scores of the respective areas follows measurement of vital sign($3.74{\pm}2.15$), monitoring($28.97{\pm}4.31$), activity daily living ($34.99{\pm}3.66$), feeding($.19{\pm}.98$), intravenous infusion ($18.20{\pm}8.27$), treatment/procedure ($16.93{\pm}4.90$), respiratory therapy($8.61{\pm}7.07$). By means of stepwise multiple regression analysis, the intravenous therapy & medication, respiratory therapy, activities of daily living, and monitoring area that contains the model showed a significant (F=2073.963, p<.001), and they explained 98.1% of CPSCS. These findings provide information that is relevant in designing interventions to enhance CPSCS among neurocritical patients in hospital.
