  • In order to reject the steady-state tracking error, it is common to introduce integral compensators in servosystems for constant reference signals. However, if the mathematical model of the plant is exact and no disturbance input exists, the integral compensation is not necessary. From this point of view, a two-degree-of-freedom(2DOF) servosystem has been proposed, in which the integral compensation is effective only when there is a modeling error or a disturbance input. The present paper considers robust stability of this 2DOF servosystem incorporating an observer to the structured and unstructured uncertainties of the controlled plant. A robust stability condition is obtained using Riccati inequality, which is written in a linear matrix inequality (LMI) and independent of the gain of the integral compensator. This result impies that if the plant uncertainty is in the allowable set defined by the LMI condition, a high-gain integral compensation can be carried preserving robust stability to accelerate the tracking response.

  • The fluid system such as, the quantity control of raw water, chemicals control in the purification, the waste water system as well as in the feed water or circulation system of the power plant and the ventilation system is controlled with the valve and moter pump. The system's performance and the energy saving of the fluid systems depend on control of method and delicacy. Until, PI controller use in these system but it cannot control delicately because of the coupling in the system loop. In this paper we configure a single flow system to the multi variable system and suggest the application of 2-DOF PID controller and the tuning methods by the neural network to the electrical power of the flow control system. the 2-DOF controller follows to a setpoint has a robustness against the disturbance in the results of simulation. • In this paper, a controller design method is proposed for haptic interface considering transparency and robust stability. For this, a performance index for the transparency as performance measure is defined in the points of impedance matching and the optimal solution which is minimizing the performance index is obtained by solving H2 optimal problem. In haptic interface, the modeling uncertainties can be restricted to that of haptic device. To implement the robust stabilizing haptic controller to the uncertainties of haptic device, a robust stable condition using H$\infty$ norm from small gain theorem is proposed. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed haptic controller design scheme, numerical examples and experimental results are illustrated for virtual wall consisting of stiffness and damping factor.

  • In this paper, we propose a motion control scheme of robot manipulators based on visual feedback under camera-in-hand configuration. The desired joint velocity and acceleration for motion control is made by the feature-based visual data in the outer loop. The control input for tracking feature points on the image plane uses robot kinematics dynamic. The proposed control input consists of the image feature and the joint velocity error to achieve robustness to the parametric uncertainty. The stability of the closed-loop system is proved by Lyapunov approach. Computer simulations and experiments on a two degree of freedom manipulator with 5 links are presented to illustrate the performance of proposed control system.

  • If an internal combustion engine is operated by consolidated control, the minimum fuel consumption is achieved satisfying the demanded objectives. For this, it is necessary that the engine is operated on the ideal operating line which satisfies minimum fuel consumption. In this context of view, there are many tries to achieve given object. However, the parameter in the internal combustion engines are variable and depend on the operating points. Therefore, it is necessary to cope with the uncertainties such that the optimal operating may be possible. From this point of view, this paper gives a controller design method and a robust stability condition for engine torque control which satisfies the given control performance and robust stability in the presence of physical parameter perturbation. Exactly, the present paper considers a robust stability of this 2DOF servosystem with nonlinear type uncertainty in the engine system, and a robust stability condition for the servosystem is introduced. This result guarantees that if the plant uncertainty is in the permissible set defined by the given condition then a gain tuning can be carried out to suppress the influence of the plant uncertainties.

  • This paper consists of the vector control of three phase induction motors which has robustness against disturbances and parameter variations by the TDOF (Two Degree Of Freedom) theory. Using the TDOF theory, induction motor is robustly controlled for resistance variations and disturbances. Adaptive observer is used for the purpose of estimating the stator fluxes, the stator currents, and the parameters. The proposed control netted is verified by computer simulations.
