고속도강의 미세조직에 미치는 합금원소 및 수직원심주조 조건의 영향 (Influence of Vertical Centrifugal Casting (V.C.C) Conditions and Alloying Elements on Microstructures of High Speed Steel)

  • The HSS consists of hard carbide and matrix of martensite, and so its characteristics of wear resistance, fracture resistance, and surface roughness are good. This study was undertaken to investigate the influence of Nb and V and manufacturing conditions on microstructural behaviors and characteristics in the HSS cylindrical specimens(90 $mm^{O.D.}$ ${\times}$ 60 $mm^{I.D.}$ ${\times}$ 50 $mm^H$) manufactured using VCC(Vertical Centrifugal Casting). In the specimen of Fe-2C-6Cr-1.5W-3Mo-4V alloy, the amount of MC carbide was increased and $M_7C_3$ carbide was decreased with the increase of V and Nb contents. The primary VC carbide was formed and followed by the rod-type eutectic MC carbide was formed in the cell boundary in 9%V added specimen. MC carbide was increased, and $M_7C_3$ carbide was decreased with the addition of Nb content. In the specimen containing more than 3%Nb, primary NbC carbide was formed within the cell of matrix. With increase in rpm, cell and carbides became fine, and amount of carbide $M_7C_3$ was decreased due to increase in cooling rate.

미소시험편에 의한 재질열화된 내열강의 고온 크리프 특성 평가 (High Temperature Creep Characteristics Evaluation for Degraded Heat Resistance Steel of Power Plant by Mini-Specimen)

  • In this study the new creep test using miniaturized specimen(10${\times}$10${\times}$0.5 ㎣) was performed to evaluate the creep characteristics for degraded materials of 2.25Cr-1Mo steel. For this creep test, the artificially aged materials for 330 hrs and 1820hrs at $630^{\circ}C$ were used. The test temperatures applied for the creep deformation of miniaturized specimens was X$630^{\circ}C$ and the applied loads were between 45 kg∼80 kg. After creep test, macro- and microscopic observation were conducted by the scanning electron microscope(SEM). The creep curves depended definitely on applied load and microstructure and showed the three stages of creep behavior like uniaxial tensile creep curves. The load exponents of virgin, 330 hrs and 1820 hrs materials based on creep rate showed 14.8, 9.5 and 8.3 at $550^{\circ}C$ respectively, The 1820 hrs material showed the lowest load exponent and this behavior was also observed in the case of load exponent based on creep rupture time. In contrast to virgin material which exhibited fined dimple fractography, a lot of carbides like net structure and voids were observed on the fractography of degraded materials.

  • Conventional plasma carburizing or nitriding for austenitic stainless steels results in a degradation of corrosion resistance. However, a low temperature plasma surface treatment can improve surface hardness without deteriorating the corrosion resistance. The 2-step low temperature plasma processes (the combined carburizing and post nitriding) offers the increase of both surface hardness and thickness of hardened layer and corrosion resistance than the individually processed low temperature nitriding and low temperature carburizing techniques. In the present paper, attempts have been made to investigate the influence of the introduction of Ar gas (0~20%) in nitriding atmosphere during low temperature plasma nitriding at $370^{\circ}C$ after low temperature plasma carburizing at $470^{\circ}C$. All treated specimens exhibited the increase of the surface hardness with increasing Ar level in the atmosphere and the surface hardness value reached up to 1050 HV0.1, greater than 750 $HV_{0.1}$ in the carburized state. The expanded austenite phase (${\gamma}_N$) was observed on the most of the treated surfaces. The thickness of the ${\gamma}_N$ layer reached about $7{\mu}m$ for the specimen treated in the nitriding atmosphere containing 20% Ar. In case of 10% Ar containing atmosphere, the corrosion resistance was significantly enhanced than untreated austenitic stainless steels, whilst 20% Ar level in the atmosphere caused to form CrN in the N-enriched layer (${\gamma}_N$), which led to the degradation of corrosion resistance compared with untreated austenitic stainless steels.

초기 연신율법을 이용한 크리프 수명예측 평가 (Evaluation on the Creep Life Prediction Using Initial Strain Method)

  • The high temperature creep behavior of heat machine systems such as aircraft engines, boilers and turbines in power plants and nuclear reactor components have been considered as an important and needful fact. There are considerable research results available for the design of high temperature tube materials in power plants. However, few studies on the Initial Strain Method (ISM) capable of securing repair, maintenance, cost loss and life loss have been made. In this method, 3 long time prediction Of high temperature creep characteristics can be dramatically induced through a short time experiment. The purpose of present study is to investigate the high temperature creep lift of Udimet 720, SCM 440-STD61 and 1Cr-0.5Mo steel using the ISM. The creep test was performed at 40$0^{\circ}C$ to $700^{\circ}C$ under a pure loading. In the prediction of creep life for each materials, the equation of ISM was superior of Larson-Miller Parameter(LMP). Especially, the long time prediction of creep life was identified to improve the reliability.

침탄처리한 Ni-Cr-Mo강의 마찰-마모특성 (Friction-Wear Properties of Carburized SNCM)

  • In this study, friction-wear test was carried out on the carburized layer depth of a mechanical structure steel SNCM carburized with RX and LPG for 7hrs at $930^{\circ}C$ and also the wear properties of wear loss, wear rate, coefficient of friction, friction force and friction temperature were investigated. The wear properties for carburized layer of SNCM were tested on dry condition at the room temperature by the thrust load of 49~245N range at sliding speed of 0.2m/sec and the sliding speed of 0.2~1.0m/sec range at thrust load of 98N. Wear loss on the depth of carburizing layer was increased with increasing of thrust load and sliding speed, and with decreasing of hardness. The condition of worn surfaces were showed mild wear at less than the thrust load of 98N and sliding speed of 0.6m/sec but were showed severe wear at more than 98N and 0.6m/sec. The friction load and temperature were increased with increasing of thrust load but with increasing sliding speed was appeared minimum at 0.6m/sec. With increasing thrust load the wear rate was increased and the coefficient of friction was decreased, but with increasing sliding speed the wear rate and the coefficient of friction were decreased in 0.2~0.6m/sec and increased in 0.6~1.0m/sec, therefore 0.6m/sec in this testing is a transition velocity.

소듐냉각고속로 피복관용 중형 HT9 단조품 소재의 미세조직 및 기계적 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Microstructural and Mechanical Property of Medium-sized HT9 Cladding Forged Material for Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor)

  • 소듐냉각 고속로 (SFR) 핵연료 피복관 후보재료로 고려되고 있는 중형 규모의 HT9 단조품 소재에 대한 금속조직학적 영향을 고찰하였다. 시험 재료는 유도가열법을 이용하여 1.1톤 규모의 잉곳으로 성형한 후, $1170^{\circ}C$에서 고온 단조 및 공랭을 통하여 160mm 직경 및 7000mm 길이를 갖는 단조품으로 가공하여 반경방향으로 미세조직의 변화를 관찰하였다. 시험 결과 시험 재료는 페라이트-마르텐사이트 조직을 보였으며 합금 조성에 의하여 2~3%의 델타 페라이트 (delta ferrite)를 가짐과 동시에 반경방향의 냉각속도 차이에 의하여 최대 15%의 변태 페라이트 (transformed ferrite)를 함유함이 관찰되었다. 냉각곡선의 모델링과 시간-온도-변태 (TTT) 선도를 이용한 민감도 분석을 통하여 단조품의 직경을 120mm로 줄였을 경우 중심부의 변태 페라이트 형성을 억제할 수 있음을 제시하였다.

진단용 다엽콜리메이터 개발을 위한 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션 연구 (Monte Carlo Simulation for Development of Diagnostic Multileaf Collimator)

  • 진단방사선 검사 시 환자선량을 감소하기 위한 목적으로 진단용 다엽콜리메이터를 제작하고자 하며, 제작 전 사전연구로서 진단용 다엽콜리메이터에 사용되는 차폐물질 및 차폐효율에 대한 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션 코드(MCNPX, LANL, USA)를 이용하여 진단방사선 기기(ReX-650R, Listem, Korea)을 모델링하기 위하여, SRS-78 프로그램을 이용하여 관전압(80, 100, 120 kVp)에 따라 에너지 스펙트럼을 획득하였다. 진단용 다엽콜리메이터의 제작을 위하여 사용된 재료는 SKD-11(탄소 : 1.6%, 규소 : 0.4%, 망간 : 0.6%, 크롬 : 5%, 몰리브덴 : 1%, 바나듐 : 0.3%, 밀도: $7.87g/cm^3$)이며 이를 진단방사선 기기에 진단용 다엽콜리메이터($10{\times}0.5{\times}0.5cm^3$, 좌우 20개씩) 형태로 전산 모사하였다. 진단용 다엽콜리메이터의 차폐효율을 확인하기 위하여 MCNPX 코드의 tally6을 이용하여 에너지별로 차폐효율을 계산하였다. 에너지에 따른 차폐효율은 80 kVp 일 때, 98.3% 차폐되었으며, 100 kVp는 95.7%, 마지막으로 120 kVp는 93.6%가 차폐되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과를 기반으로 MLC형태 및, 누설선량에 대한 연구를 진행하여 진단방사선 기기에서 사용 가능한 진단용 다엽콜리메이터 개발에 필요한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

고강도 경량 철근콘크리트보의 전단보강 효과 (Effects of Shear Reinforcements on the Reinforced High-Strength Lightweight Concrete Beams)

  • 본 연구에서는 전단보강비율에 따른 고강도경량 철근콘크리트보의 전단거동을 규명하기 위하여 15개의 실험체를 제작하여 실험하였다. 실험변수는 전단스팬비(a/d=2.5, 3.5, 4.5)와 전단보강근비($0{\sim}1.0_{ACI}{\rho}_v$)이고 큰크리트의 압축강도 (439kg/$cm^2$)와 주철근비(0.02023)는 일정하게 하였다. 실험결과, ACI 규준식은 고강도경량 철근콘크리트보에서 큰크리트의 전단내력은 과소평가하는 반면 전단보강근의 전단내격은 과대평가하는 것으로 나타났다. 큰크리트의 전단강도($V_{cr}$)식에서 경량콘크리트에 대한 추가적인 전단강도저감계수 ${\lambda}$=0.85는 경량콘크리트의 고강도화에 따라서 다소 상향조정하여 사용할 필요가 있는 것으로 보인다. 또한, 전단보강근의 전단강도는 보통중량콘크리트보와 같이 전단보강비율에 직선적으로 비례하는 것이 아니라 그 제곱근에 비례하는 경향을 보였으며, 따라서 고강도경량 철근콘크리트보에서 전단보강근의 유효성(전단보강의 효과)은 보통중량콘크리트에 비해 떨어진다고 볼 수 있다.

진공사출금형용 STS316L 금속 다공체 제조 및 기계적 특성 (Fabrication and Mechanical Properties of STS316L Porous Metal for Vacuum Injection Mold)

  • In this study, porous stainless steel (STS316L) sintered body was fabricated by powder metallurgy method and its properties such as porosity, compressive yield strength, hardness, and permeability were evaluated. 67.5Fe-17Cr- 13Ni-2.5Mo (wt%) powder was produced by a water atomization. The atomized powder was classified into size with under $45{\mu}m$ and over $180{\mu}m$, and then they were compacted with various pressures and sintered at $1210^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in a vacuum atmosphere. The porosities of sintered bodies could be obtained in range of 20~53% by controlling the compaction pressure. Compressive yield strength and hardness were achieved up to 268 MPa and 94 Shore D, respectively. Air permeability was obtained up to $79l/min{\cdot}cm^2$. As a result, mechanical properties and air permeability of the optimized porous body having a porosity of 25~40% were very superior to that of Al alloy.

STS 204Cu 스테인리스강의 저온 플라즈마 침질탄화 처리 시 CH4 가스 함량에 따른 경화층 (S-Phase) 거동 (Effect of the Amount of CH4 Content on the Characteristics of Surface Layers of Low Temperature Plasma Nitrocarburizied STS 204Cu Stainless Steel)

  • Plasma Nitriding treatment was performed on STS 204Cu stainless steel samples at a temperature of $400^{\circ}C$ for 15 hours with varying $N_2$ content as 10%, 15% and 25%. Regardless of the content of $N_2$, S-Phase which is a hardened layer of Nitrogen (N) supersaturated phase, was formed in the surface of plasma treated samples. When $N_2$ content was 25%, the thickness of the hardened layer reached up to about $7{\mu}m$ and the surface hardness reached a value of $560Hv_{0.05}$, which is about 2.5 times higher than that of untreated sample (as received $220Hv_{0.05}$). From potentiodynamic polarization test, it was observed that compared to as received sample, the corrosion potential and the corrosion current density of the plasma treated samples were decreased regardless of the $N_2$ content, but the corrosion resistance was not increased much due to the precipitation of $Cr_2N$. On the other hand, pitting potential of the samples treated with 10% and 15% $N_2$ was higher than that of as received sample, however, the samples treated with 25% exhibited a lower pitting potential. Therefore, 10% $N_2$ content was selected as optimum plasma nitriding condition and to further increase both the thickness and surface hardness and the corrosion resistance of the hardened layer, different $CH_4$ content such as 1%, 3% and 5% was introduced into the plasma nitriding atmosphere. With 1% $CH_4$, the thickness of the hardened layer reached up to about $11{\mu}m$ and the surface hardness was measured as about $620Hv_{0.05}$, which is about 2.8 times that of as received sample. And the corrosion resistance of the plasma treated sample by using 1% $CH_4$ was improved significantly due to much higher pitting potential, and lower corrosion current density. When the $CH_4$ content was more than 1%, the thickness and surface hardness of the hardened layer decreased slightly and the corrosion resistance also decreased.
