This study analyzes the socio-economical contexts of Japan's Karaoke inflow in Busan of the 1980s, and examines the relationship between Karaoke culture of the 1980s and 'Noraebang' culture of the early 1990s in Busan from the perspective of the SCOT(social construction of technology) theory. By the end of 1970s, Japan's Karaoke was introduced under the contexts of structural transformations of a geisha tourism in the East Asian regions. Karaoke culture in Busan of the 1970s and 1980s has formulated social recognitions of the novelty of Noraebang culture in the 1990s, although it has done so through the ways of misunderstandings and Nationalism.

This thesis aims to examine the discussions on communitarianism and liberalism, which was actively debated post-1990's in the West. The paper will focus on the concepts of morality and ethics of Hegel's "Philosophy of Law" in order to connect the discussions on communitarianism and liberalism to our society's political reality. Specifically, through the introduction of Hegel's point of view, this paper will shed new light co the concept of communitarianism, which was viewed from the perspective of political philosophy within the West post-1990's. Through "Philosophy of Law," Hegel imbues a critical and fundamental meaning to modern ethical-political order. For Hegel, Kant's acceptance of morality has a foundational and compositional meaning for the concepts of law and nation. This paper will discuss this topic within the boundaries of Hegel's morality and ethics and regard this as a chance to look back on our political situation with a regretful introspection. International and national reviewers tend to regard the various perspectives of Hegel's philosophy of law as inspirational. However, it seems that the fundamental introspection of why our reality must adhere to his philosophy is lacking. Based on this concern, the paper aims to examine Hegel's "Philosophy of Law" to apply his perspectives to our political reality for a fundamental self-evaluation.

Ths study was prformed to measure the indexmg coverage of the periol~cal literature on a sub'||'&'||' area inKorean language policy. A bibliography of 675 citations dated 1977-1990 was obtained through Xugohaknonpmongnokjip'.Coverage was determined by checlung the citations against 2 indexmg services, Ch-dg~idm"and Xugogungrnunhaknonmunmongrok". For the period 1977-1990, T h o n g g g a n h a n g m s consistentlyprovided coverage of about 63%. For the pencd 1986-1990, Xugogungmunhaknonmunmongrok" providedcoverage of about 33% and the combined coverage of the two services was abut 78%. From the 1990s, Korean Life insurance industry has been experienced an profound impact from various exterior factors. In this study, productivity change in Korean Life insurance industry was measured by the Malmquist productivity change index. Analysis was made based on the balanced panel data from 1990 to 2003 collected from 8 lift insurance firms and 1993 to 1997 from 20 firms. The results show that survived firms' productivity change was higher than other firms.

Elastic modulus of unidirectional short fiber composite has theoretically derived with the consideration of Poisson's ratios of matrix and fiber. Unidirectional short fiber composite is modeled as an aggregate of grains developed by Kerner. Under the assumption of extra strain at fiber ends, the strain distribution along the fiber's length is determined, and the elastic modulus is derived from this distribution. For the consideration of effects of Poisson's ratio, Kerner's results for particulate composites are adapted as boundary conditions. The effect of differences in Poisson's ratio of fiber and matrix on elastic modulus is studied. Proposed equation shows a good agreement with experimental data of Halpin and Tock, et al.

The taxonomic revision of the genus Sillago was made on the basis of the speciemens collected in the Korean coasts during from June, 1990 to April, 1995. The famfly Sillaginidae of Korea are composed of 3 species in only one genus Sillago S. japonica, S. sillama, and S. parvisquamis. Among them S.parvisquamis is newly recorded from Yosu of Korea by present study.

Malaya attained independence on August 31, 1957 from Britain. However this new nation faced a communist insurgency known today as the "Malayan Emergency" (1948-1960). Then in 1961, Tunku announced a wider federation of "Malaysia", viz. Malaya, British Crown Colonies of Singapore, Sarawak and North Borneo, and the protectorate of Brunei. Countering communism was a principal motive for "Malaysia". Sarawak's leftist elements were rejected with an armed opposition. Malaysia was formed excluding Brunei. Amidst its birth pangs, Malaysia faced hostile neighbors Indonesia and the Philippines; the former objected by way of Konfrontasi (1963-1967) while the latter laid claim to Sabah (formerly North Borneo). Malaya/ Malaysia was borne in the midst of the Cold War (1947-1991), a bipolar world between the US and the USSR. Malaya/Malaysia is utilized as a case of analysis and evaluation in the context of the twin trends of continuities and transformations in tracing the historical developments from the 1950's to the 1990's. The risks, motives, and challenges that prompted the shift in foreign relations reveal as much of the personality of the political leadership, the prevailing situations, and conditions from within and circumstances from without.

Fungal Virus에 대한 연구는 60년대말 double-stranded RNA(dsRNA)가 interferon의 생성을 촉진시킨다는 보고가 나온 이후 dsRNA를 많이 얻을수 있는 재료로써 이 virus에 대한 연구가 본격적으로 진행되었다. 현재까지 60여종 이상의 genus와 200가지 이상의 species에서 virus의 존재가 분리 또는 확인되어 있다. 여기서는 Ustilago maydis의 killer activity를 유발하는 virus에 대한 일반적인 특징과 이 virus의 transcription 과정에 대해 설명하고자 한다.

The history of information system (IS) development methodology in Korea is less than 30 years. Korea introduced the structured development methodology in the public fields in 1980s, introduced the information engineering methodology in 1990s, and accepted and developed the objected oriented development methodology and the component based development methodology in 2000s. The history of IS development methodology in Korea is shorter than that of the world. Korea's IS development methodology started 10 year later compared with the world level. But it developed rapidly in 1990s and then grew to the world level in 2000s. This paper is the first research that it investigated the history of IS development methodology in Korea. This paper will give the people of IT industry the historical insights about IS development methodology and will help make a current and future strategic plan for IS development methodology. And it will provide researchers and policy makers with the insights and research ideas of future direction of information system development.
