The purposes of the study were (1) to analysis Korean traditional wedding costumes through families's wedding photographs from 1940 to 2000, and (2) to categorize bride and groom's costumes according to the wedding time by means of a time series analysis. (3) to find out functional relationship among changes in garment types, garment details, embellishments and colors. The study was a documentary research and data were collected from 390 family wedding photographs by a convenient sampling. The data were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative method and the statistic used were frequency, content analysis, and cross-tab analysis. The results were as follows; First, the garments of wedding couples were categorized into 5 period according to garment's characteristics. 1. The period between 1940~1959 : Korean traditional wedding costumes and western style wedding costumes were existed together in Korean wedding culture. 2. The period between 1960~early 1970's western wedding costumes were dominated. 3. The period of late 1970's : wedding couple's costumes became more formal and decorative. 4. The period of 1980's : introducing see-through materials for brides and tuxedo suit for grooms. 5. The period of 1990's : extravagance in shapes and exposure. Second, there were significant relationships among brides's dress types and neckline, glove length, embellishments and transparency of materials and among groom's garment types and necktie types, types and color of shirts, vests. Third, the time series analysis of bride and groom's outfit produced 5 schematic expressions of wedding outfits according to the period.

1) Lishu village is located in a riverside of an upper Tu-men river. Since an upper tream of Tu-men river is narrow and easy to pilot a boat, early in the past, it facilitated the form of the village near to the North Korea. 2) As for elevation, it consisted of only doors, but as time goes by, windows were made. So windows and doors were appearing much in the elevation. In 1970s', elevations are constructed in various ways; in 1980, attributed to brick housing, the elevations become much more diverse; from 1990, symmetrical elevation was revealed which consists of one door and two windows in each side of a door after 2000, the structure of the housing restored of 1930s' style which contained one window in Jungji and 1970s' style consisting of 3 windows, moreover, many free-style elevations appeared to be commercial use.

The purpose of this paper is to analysis on periodical changes of rural houses of Korean-Chinese people residing in Yanbian area, China focused on periodical changes of floor plans according to Chinese government's policies and regulations influencing on rural houses. Changes of floor plans are classified into four periods; immigrating settled period, 1960-1970s, 1980-1990s, and after 2000. Total number of 67 cases were analyzed that data was collected 48 cases of literature studies and 19 cases of field study in Yanbian, China. The results are as followings. In immigrating settled period, floor plans of the rural houses have tended to be continued the pattern of the Korean traditional rural houses. Nevertheless China was changed socialism system, rarely floor plans were influenced by the system during this period. From 1960s to 1970s, the livestock and rural mechanization are influenced by the "People's Commune" policy. The "Barn" and "Mill" were converted into "warehouse". The residential part consists of one Jeongji (space mixed dinning and kitchen) and one to three of Ondolbang (room). From 1980s to 1990s influenced by the policies of "Cultural Revolution", "Birth Control" and "Chinese Economic Reform", the Korean traditional customs like "elders first" and "distinction between the male and female have been gradually vanished. Meanwhile, spaces of the rural houses have consisted of Jeongji, big Utppang (room), and warehouse. Each space is opened and mutual. Since 2000, influenced by the policy of a "new Socialist Countryside Construction", the bathroom and kitchen are added in interior spaces, the life style in rural houses has been changed as for both the sedentary style and western style.
Residential overcrowding, also called density, measured as more than one person per room, is a important variable as a principal indicator of inadequate housing. We investigated how immigrants in the US are assimilated to the host society through a lens of housing density. We estimated the probability of living in overcrowded housing of Korean, Chinese and Japanese immigrants armored with the 1980 and 1990 Public Use Microdata Sample(PUMS, A, 5%) in the US. Along with economic effects, we also consider life-cycle effects on the indicator. We applied "double cohort" method that enables duration of immigration effects to be separated from aging effects, which captures family size fluctuations due to life-cycle effects. The study found that cohort trends sharply changed during 10years. The 1970's immigrants are more likely to live in overcrowded housing than the pre-1970 immigrants. The pre-1970 immigrants are more likely to live in overcrowded housing than native-born persons. This may be explained by different assimilation processes driven by the disparities of individual human capitals or cultural differences among the ethnic groups. Especially, Korean experienced a sharp decline in overcrowding between 1980 and 1990. We also found that the major determinants that affect the level of housing density are years since migration, income, and gender. The present study concluded with some future studies related to the Korean immigrants abroad.ts abroad.
We examine historical contributions of inter fuel substitution, changes in carbon efficiency and energy intensity, growth of economy and population to Korea's $CO_2$ emissions from 1970 to 1998 using the log mean weight Divisia index method. The study reveals that economic growth is the most significant factor to $CO_2$ emissions growth among the five factors. Changes in the fuel substitution and carbon coefficient are found negative contributors to $CO_2$ emissions growth. Energy intensity, which played dominant role in halting $CO_2$ emissions growth in the 1980s, began to play reversed role in the 1990s. When evaluated with the log mean Divisia index technique, deterioration of energy intensity in the 1990s is found worse and expected to contribute $CO_2$ emissions growth further.

Development education started in some of developed countries of Europe since 1960s. Japan was interested in the development education with realizing the impotance of quality of life in the late of 1970s after high economical growth in 1960s. Just like Eroupe, development education in Japan was done to citizen by development NGOs. But under close cooperation with JICA and MOE, development education was gradually absorbed in formal education. Development education in Japan is done through interdisciplinary studies and the subjects. Geography national curriculum and textbooks in Japan show that the subject aimed to nurture Japanese in the world in the period from the late of 1960s to the late of 1970s. Thus the period can be named the sprouting time of education of development. But with entering the late of 1980s, geography national curriculum started to focus on fostering global citizenship to students. The turn in the educational aims can be counted as practical start of education of development. And education of development through geography was extended the most in the late of 1990s. But in the recent revised geography national curriculum, emphasis on education of development is reduced a little. It can be told that education of development in Japan arrives at the level of the full growth.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the content of the sexual knowledge and sexual attitude of the results of 39 previous studies for the adolescence in Korea, 1976-1997. The basis for analysis was the Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education developed by the Sex Information and Education Council of the U. S.(SIECUS). SIECUS is consisted of six key concepts; Human development, Relationships, Personal skills, Sexual behaviour, Sexual health, Society and Health. The research consisted of 39 articles that met definitional criteria of content analysis. The results of the study were summarized as follows: 1. Knowledge: It was conducted 96.7% of human development, 90.0% of sexual health, 70.0% of sexual behaviour, 23.3% of society and culture. 2. Attitude: It was conducted 94.1% of sexual behaviour, 73.5% of relationships, 55.9% of sexual health, 41.1% of human development, 26.5% of society and culture, 11.8% of personal skills. 3. General characteristics: With regard to sexual knowledge, 50.0% of research were published 1980s, 43.3% were 1990s, and 6.7%were 1970s. As regard to sexual attitude, 50% of research were published 1980s, 45.5% were 1990s, and 2.9% were 1970s. In sample size, 23.1% of 600 over, 401-500 were 20.5%. In the research tool, it was developed by researcher mainly 66.7%, modified tool by researcher was 5.1%. The tested reliability of the research tool was only 27.9%. And 78.9% of the research was not tested in validity of tool.
The change in the police concerning food and dietary life were analyzed in order to provide bases of establishing policy of food and dietary life properly. The last half one century was divided into six periods as follows ; The period since liberlation from Japanese rule(1945-1949) the 1950's (1950-1959) 1960's (1960-1969) 1970's (1970-1979) 1980's (1980-1989) 1990's (1990-1992). Dietary life by 1960's were a life of distress and policies coducted by government took on an relief supply of food at this period. Movement about 'intake of mixed rice with barley and foods from flour' to supress rice consumption were encouraged by government. And Korean recommended dietary allowance was made and the national nutritional survey was practived in the first place by the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. Dietary life of the country begin to improve sharply along with rice self-sufficiency since 1975 With the growth of food and eating out industry intake of instant food processed food and fast food has increased at the 1980's To ministry of Health and Social Affairs drove campaign of 'Joo-Moon Sik Dahn Je' for dietary life improvement at 1981 The Ministry of Education made and announced a 'School Feeding Law' at 1981 The government that is the Office of Permier and the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs developed compaign for improvement of dietary life and drove 'Jo Eun Sik Dahan Je' with Association of restaurant jointly. Policy on food and dietary life conducted by government up to data were planned mainly dependent on food production supply and demand of food. Infectious diseases continue to decrease with increasing of degenerative diseases which will be required proper management of dietary life. In the future more aggressive intergrated food policy are needed to maintain the public health. Aoso dietary improvement movement should be drived actively.

Genetic diversity of 91 Korean soybean cultivars was assessed with 20 simple sequence repeat (SSR). Twenty SSR loci generated a total of 149 alleles. The number of alleles for each SSR locus ranged from 3 to 15 with a mean of 7.5 alleles. Genetic diversity estimated by PIC value of 91 cultivars was ranged from 0.424 to 0.905 with an average of 0.711. Cluster analysis based on Nei's genetic distances classified 91 soybean cultivars except Geomjeongkong 4 into 7 groups. The majority groups were I, IV, and VI which included 26, 24, and 18 cultivars, respectively. Obvious differences in genetic diversity appeared to be related with the released periods of cultivars and utilization type of cultivars, but not with breeding sites. Cultivars released in 1970's and in 1990's showed the lowest and the highest genetic diversities with 0.576 and 0.706, respectively. Soybean cultivars for vegetable and early maturity showed the lowest genetic diversity with 0.514, while those for soy sauce and tofu showed the highest genetic diversity with 0.691. Genetic distance between soybean cultivar groups developed before 1969 and during 1970's was the nearest, while genetic distance between those developed in 1970's and 1990's was the furthest. Cultivar group for vegetable and early maturity showed the furthest genetic distance with cultivar group for soy sauce and tofu, while it showed the nearest genetic distance with cultivar group for cooking with rice. Genetic distance was greater between soybean cultivar groups developed in Suwon and Iksan than between those developed in Milyang and Iksan.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the model of fashion change related to the cyclical variations suggested by Kroeber and Young and the selected social changes factors since Kapokyungchang(1894) in Korea. The sample was drawn from illustrations and photos in newspapers and magazines such as Chosunilbo, Dongailbo, and Yeowon. Documentary research and a content analysis have been done. The results were as follows : 1. Cyclical variations in dress were apparent for skirt length and silhouette. However, Kroeber's model and Young's model that regulary recurring cycles exist did not fit the data for 1970 to 1990 in Korea. For skirt length, the cycles appeared to be approximately five to six years for 1970 to 1990. 2. Social and institutional factors tended to account for more the variance in dress dimensions than political factors.
