  • This study developed a digital security device which power is on/off by the RFID card. This device is based on the wireless data transmit/receive circuits, built in RS-232C chip and applied to computer and other digital devices. We can check whether this device is operated or not by connecting the LED. In this system, 13.56MHz frequency circuit supplies power with ID card, and DC inputs check the proximity operating distance of the card field for verifying the existence of a card. The security level of this system is much stronger than that of a compared system[13]. Anyone cannot use the system without RFID card. All illegal access is prevented except for authorized path.

  • In this paper, a new NMOS current-mirror type bridge rectifier for driving RFID chips, whose minimum input voltage required to obtain the effective DC output voltage is low enough and whose power dissipation can be reduced than that of conventional one, is proposed. The designed rectifier is able to supply high enough and well-rectified DC voltages to drive RFID transponder chips for the frequency range of 13.56 MHz HF(for ISO 18000-3), 915 MHz UHF(fur ISO 18000-6), and 2.45 GHz microwave(for ISO 18000-4). Output characteristics of the proposed rectifier are analyzed with the high frequency equivalent circuit. And the circuitry method for effective reducing of the gate leakage current due to the increasing of operating frequency is also proposed theoretically. Using this method, the power consumption of $100\;{\mu}W$ and the DC output voltage of 2.13V for 3V peak-to-peak input voltage and $45\;K{\Omega}$ load resistance are obtained. Compared to conventional one, the proposed rectifier operates in more stable and shows superior characteristics in UHF and microwave frequencies.

  • At the ubiquitous computing, Mobile RFID, which the convergence RFID and mobile device, researches are core method and infra to service B2B, B2C, and B2B2C service domain. We propose the functions of middleware to develop the mobile RFID device. It consists of multi-code integrated recognition module, the reader control module, the module code interpretation, and Dispatcher module. These functions can recognize the tag of EPC/ISO and mCode type. We describe the zone file of local ODS and the implemented module to read the 13.56MHz tag.

  • As a result of reenforcement of livestock industry licensing and livestock related vehicle registration system, pig farm are mandatory for setting stop bar before pig farm entrance and maintaining the records of inlet and outlet to and from pig farm. Also, the first step to the pig farm biosecurity is the control of entrance human, vehicles, animals and the related records including entrance and sterilization. In this study, the pig farm entrance control system using RFID technology and web-server system was developed. For human entrance, contact type RFID reading system(13.56MHz) was developed. And the 900MHz RFID system was used to detect vehicle entrance. The test result shows that system actuating, recognition, saving records to the web server was successful. Then, the full system of human entrance recording unit, vehicle entrance recording unit, entrance control system, human sterilizing booth containing a tablet for inputting visitor's record and sterilization record was tested. The records were wrote to web server DB through the data management web-program. Performance test shows the entrance control and data management in server was successfully operated.

  • RFID is Playing a central role in ubiquitous technology according with the advent of the ubiquitous era, and the development of an RFID reader is also emerging as an important technical development field. In this paper, we developed a hardware system which is able to make use of the 13.56MHz RFID infrastructure being used as a transportation card, a credit card, and so on as well as the 125KHz RFID infrastructure being used in security company, and which is applicable to a location identification, an entrance and exit control, and security control over the TCP/IP communication. The existing local RFID methods have some problems which bottlenecks such as administrative problems, technical problems, and so force frequently occur because a casual server is placed and operated in a company. Hence, in this paper we developed an RFID multi reader which is connected to a central administrable server over the TCP/IP in order to solve these problems, and we make it be possible to keep an security control and be easy to install, transfer and administrate RFID infrastructures.

  • In this paper, a new NMOS gate cross-connected current-mirror type bridge rectifier for UHF RFID applications is presented. The DC converting characteristics of the proposed rectifier are analyzed with the high frequency equivalent circuit and the gate capacitance reduction technique for reducing the gate leakage current due to the increasing of operating frequency is also proposed theoretically by circuitry method. As the results, the proposed rectifier shows nearly same DC output voltages as the existing NMOS gate cross-connected rectifier, but it shows the gate leakage current reduced to less than 1/4 and the power consumption reduced more than 30% at the load resistor, and it shows more stable DC supply voltages for the valiance of load resistance. In addition, the proposed rectifier shows high enough and well-rectified DC voltages for the frequency range of 13.56MHz HF(for ISO 18000-3), 915MHz UHF(for ISO 18000-6), and 2.45 GHz microwave(for ISO 18000-4). Therefore, the proposed rectifier can be used as a general purpose one to drive RFID transponder chips on various RFID systems which use specified frequencies.

  • A magnetic resonant coil system for enhancement of wireless power transfer efficiency of NFC devices was proposed. The NFC system consists of resonant coils arrange between source coil and device coil. The effects of resonant coil was measured using a 13.56MHz RFID reader and tag system and simulated by 3D RF simulator. The measurement results from RFID reader and tag show that the maximum distance of signal transmission is increased by 96.72% and received voltage of RFID tag is grew by 17.95% thanks to the magnetic resonant coils.

  • In this paper, we present a daily activity monitoring system by using a wireless sensor network. The proposed system is installed in glove for activity monitoring. The RFID reader, to send data by using sensor network platform and RFID tag are small size, the shape of quadrangle, and operate in the frequency of 13.56 MHz. The sensor node can read RFID tags on the various objects used in daily living such as furniture, medicines, and kitchenwares. The sensor node reads the data of RFID tags, it transmits wireless packets to the sink node. The sink node sends the received packet immediately to a server system. The data from each RFID system is collected into a database, and then the data are processed to visualize the measurement of daily living activities of users. We provide a web-based monitoring system, and can see the number of RFID tag readings per day as bar charts. The result of experiments demonstrates that the way we propose can help to check the situation of life for people who live alone.

  • A semi-empirical organic schottky diode model is proposed for circuit simulation. We have set up a full custom design environment for organic schottky diode circuit using Spectre AHDL, which is widely used commercial EDA tool. We measured frequency response from fabricated rectifier, and it was compared to circuit simulation results using the AHDL model. The frequency response of the fabricated rectifier circuit is not sufficient for 13.56MHz RFID, however, it is enough for 135kHz-band RFID.
