  • In this study, we analyzed the situation of the 119 emergency medical service zone of H town, countryside of Y city from January 1st, 2015 to December 31st, 2016 and then, on the basis of this analysis, we investigated the present condition of the patient-transportation service of the 119 emergency medical service to provide the basic data in order for patients to use the emergency medical service more efficiently. We analyzed the data with SPSS 21.0 using frequency analysis and, after positioning the virtual 119 emergency medical service, we analyzed the data of the transportation time and transportation distance by using GIS. The results of this study show that the use of the 119 emergency medical service for people over 65 years old represents approximately 57% of the total number of patients transported, The average distance and time of the real moving reaction are 6.41 km and 11.86 min, respectively. The distance and time from the pick-up location to the hospital are 18.24 km and 21.52 min, respectively. Given the present position of the 119 emergency medical service, the results of this analysis using GPS show that the (average) distance and time from the 119 emergency medical service to Jang * Ri town are 9.12 km and 12 min, and the (average) total distance and time to arrive at the hospital after the emergency medical service picks up the patient are 36.83 km and 62 min, respectively. In the case of the virtual emergency medical service, the total distance and time required to arrive at the hospital after the emergency medical service picks up the patient are 27.71km and 50min, respectively. The results of this study showed that the present position of the 119 emergency service does not provide the optimum distance and time from the patient's location to the hospital. Therefore, we consider that the repositioning of the 119 emergency medical center is necessary, in order to reduce the time required for the emergency medical service to move to the patient's location and then bring the patient to the hospital.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess 119 emergency medical technicians' perception of child abuse, attitudes towards mandatory reporting, and perceptions of mandatory reporting system, and to promote early reporting. Methods: The questionnaire was filled out by one hundred ninety 119 EMTs with paramedic or nurse licenses. The questionnaire consisted of 53 items with responses based on a five-point scale. Data were collected from July 10 to July 31, 2018, and were analyzed using IBM SPSS version 24.0 software. Results: The average score for 119 EMT's perception of child abuse was 3.76. The average score for positive attitude towards mandatory reporting was 3.63, and the average score for negative attitude towards mandatory reporting was 2.63. The average score for perceptions of the mandatory reporting system was 3.50. There was a significant positive correlation between perception of child abuse and positive attitude towards mandatory reporting (r=.244, p=.001), between perception of child abuse and perceptions of the mandatory reporting system (r=.209, p=.004), and between positive attitude towards mandatory reporting and perceptions of mandatory reporting system (r=.336, p=.000). Conclusion: Systemic educational programs for 119 EMTs on perception of child abuse and reporting are needed. It is very important to establish institutional strategies such as the use of checklist for suspicion of child abuse, procedural simplicity after reporting, and protection of reporter information.

  • This paper deals with an experimental and numerical study of a mono-strand wedge anchor head mechanism. First, the experimental program is presented and monitored data such as wedge slippage, anchor deflection and strain distributions along external peripheral surfaces of the anchor head are presented and discussed. In accordance with the experimental set up, these data concern only the global behaviour of the mechanism and cannot provide valuable information such as internal stress-strains distributions, stress concentrations and percentage of yielded volume. Therefore, the second part of this paper deals with the development of an efficient numerical finite element model capable of providing mechanism of the core information. The numerical model which includes all kinematics/material/contact non-linearities is first calibrated using experimental data. Subsequently, a numerical study of the anchorage mechanism is performed and its behaviour is compared to the behaviour of a slightly geometrically modified mechanism where the external diameter has been increased by 5 mm. Finally, different topics influencing the anchorage mechanism behaviour are addressed such as lubrication and wedge shape.

  • We present the scanned digital images and their preliminary analysis results of objective-prism plates taken with the Michigan Curtis Schmidt telescope at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory. In order to separate an individual spectrum of a star, it should be required to identify each field star in the plate. Using the PPM(Position and Proper Motion) catalog, we are verifying which star corresponds to the spectrum in a plate. In addition to this, we plan to devise the method for wavelength calibration in each spectrum. Finally we will make them for public use, not only for professional astronomers but also for high school and college students for encouraging them to be interested in the astronomy, especially astronomical spectroscopy and stellar astronomy.

  • In this study, the characteristics of the hydraulic control system with bleed-off center type of a compact excavator were analyzed using developed analysis program. From the parametric analysis, the effects of each factor were revealed. Through the simulation with varying parameters, the system parameter effects on the controllable region and the pump pressure and load pressure variations were studied. The results were compared with the experimental ones. The results and discussions of the present paper could aid in the performance improvement of a hydraulic control system of a compact excavator.

  • We demonstrate parametric resonance in a magneto-optical trap. When we modulate the intensity of the cooling laser at about twice the resonant frequency of the trap, the atoms in the trap are divided into two parts and oscillate with 180 degree phase difference with the finite length due to nonlinearity of the trap potential. These are the effects of general nonlinear dynamics, called the Hopf bifurcation, or limit cycle motion. The amplitude and the phase of the oscillations are measured and compared with the theoretical calculations based on simple Doppler cooling theory. The experimental results are in excellent agreement with the simulation results based on the simple Doppler cooling theory.
