Colchicine is a drug used for the treatment of acute gouty arthritis or various autoimmune diseases. Gastrointestinal adverse effects such as abdominal pain and vomiting are the common side effects of the drug, but rarely myopathy has been reported to occur particularly in renal recipients who were treated concomitantly with immunosuppressants. Herein, we report a case who presented with acute myopathy after treated with colchicine for acute gouty arthritis.

The midtarsal joint is composed of the talonavicular and calcaneocuboid joints. It is also known as the Chopart joint. Midtarsal joint fracture and dislocation are relatively rare and frequently missed or misdiagnosed. A proper understanding about the anatomy of the midtarsal joint is an essential part in comprehending the mechanism of injury and rationale for treatment. Anatomical reduction of midtarsal joint with correction of the column in length and shape are important; however, it is technically challenging and may require open procedure. Herein, we described a case of initial open reduction and internal fixation for midtarsal joint fracture and dislocation with a brief literature review.

The turning tests with sintered carbide tools have been conducted on typical high strength SSW2 railway wheel steel and its machinability were examined in terms of the cutting resistance, the roughness of turning surface, the chip disposal and others. Some results obtained in this paper are as follows: (1) The cutting resistance is not affected by the cutting speed (in this paper these were 23-78 m/min). (2) The roughness of finished surface is found to be largely dependent on cutting conditions and tool geometry. (3) There exists the explicit relates between the tool geometry cutting conditions (cutting speed, feedrate, and depth of cut) and independent variables(cutting resistance, surface roughness) are derived.

Facial nerve paralysis following delayed complication after trauma was rare and hard to find reason After symptom of facial nerve paralysis was found, careful clinical and neuropathic investigation needed through electromyography and nerve conduction velocity. It is necessery to Hewing that functional degenaration of nerve conduction was irresible or not. It is important to determine if palsy is already present alter trauma or some later time because origin of viral infection or temperature change may possible.

Spontaneous intracranial hypotension(SIH) is a rare syndrome of spontaneously occurring postural headache associated with low CSF pressure. It usually occur without evidence of any preceeding events such as lumbar puncture, back trauma, operative procedure, or medical illness. This syndrome usually resolves spontaneously or with strict bed rest. When the headache persists or is incapacitating, more aggressive treatment may be necessary. Autologous epidural blood patch is highly effective in the management of SIH. We experienced a case of SIH with downward displacement of brain in MRI and successfully treated with epidural blood patch.

Communications of coronary arteries with the cardiac cavities have first time been described by Krause in 1865 in a case of an accessory artery draining into the pulmonary artery and later Cayla in a case of a right coronary artery entering the right ventricle. The initial cases have been found accidentally at autopsies, however In recent years after the Introduction of angiography and coronary arteriography, the malformation Is diagnosed during life and is corrected surgically. These conditions are unusual entitles since the advent of angiography they are being diagnosed with increasing frequency. Three patients who had surgical correction of coronary-cardiac chamber fistula at our hospital are presented. In the first case and second case, coronary arteriovenous fistula was corrected horizontal mattress suture ligation with pladget under the cardiopulmonary bypass and third case was corrected double ligation with cardiopulmonary bypass standby. The postoperative courses were uneventful. They discharged without any fistula related complica-tions.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy of Gamichunggan-tang(Jiaweiqinggan-tang) on 57 patients who have suffered from chronic liver disease. Methods : Gamichunggan-tang(Jiaweiqinggan-tang) was administered to patients for over 2 months continuously. We checked improvement of clinical symptoms, changes of Hepatitis B markers and lymphocyte count. Results : Gamichunggan-tang(Jiaweiqinggan-tang) has significant effect on the improvement of clinical symptoms. And the ratio of seroconversion from HBeAg positive to HBeAg negative was 42.9%. Lymphocyte increased in 83.3% of patients converted to HBeAg negative. Conclusions : It is suggested that Gamichunggan-tang(Jiaweiqinggan-tang) has significant effects on the recovery of weakened liver function and immune modulation. This treatment could be recommened as a prescription for Chronic liver disease.

The sympathetic nervous system has been implicated as an important factor contributing to causalgia. Basis on reports of presence of opioid receptors in sympathetic autonomic ganglia, including human stellate ganglion, we administered morphine in stellate ganglion block for a patient with causalgia. The patient suffering from brachial plexus injury treated with stellate ganglion block in conjunction with physical therapy. Stellate ganglion block was performed in a paratracheal approach by injection of 1% lidocaine, or 0.25% bupivacaine 8 ml, with morpine 1 mg. Patient's symptoms were dramatically improved after 13 stellate ganglion blocks.

An Athma is a hypersensitive reaction of bronchus on various stimulus. It has a cough and laboring breath caused by narrowing of inflammatory bronchus. In this study, the three asthma patients classified by Sasang constitutional medicine had a notable medical effects. So we report the healing process and results of these three patients in this study.
