  • The transmission phenomenon of neuron action potential due to exterior stimulation is somewhat identical to electrical reaction configuration. Therefore, I tried to analyze the transmission status of membrane excitation, by introducing electrical concept to this issue in this paper. First of all, I researched the complex electrical status of axon, and then simplified the electrical circuit into pure resistance circuit under the assumption that it was reasonable in practice. And I derived the transmission status of exciting action potential through the simplified circuits using electical theory and mathematical concept. I calculated overshoot potential of a certain portion and then confirmed that it excited neighbor portion and made it to be transmitted using the proposed data which was typical in point of biological and electrical view to verify this result.

  • Recently the authors have observed various wave-forms by insertion of induction coil into the scala tympani as well as attached outer device in the outside of the body in damaged hair cells of the cats. In the cochlear nerve. action potential indicated different polarities induced by examination of the bundle of the cochlear nerve fibers. Impulse wave-form as a result of excitation of cohlear nerve fibers showed bipolar wave-form such as negative 1 and positive 1. Therefore action potential showed also bipolar wave-form as above mentioned. We can obtained suitable response with above mentioned outer and inner device as an exact oscillogram.

  • In this paper a study of neuro-pathway estimation based on visual and somatosensory evoked potential is given. The evoked potentials which are caused by visual and somatosensory stimulation are detected by an average method. The forward problem that is estimating a scalp potential from a given electrical source in the brain is solved by using a triple concentric spherical shell model of the head and a single current dipole model of the neuron activity. The inverse problem which calculates a source position is solved by a least square fit between the model predicted potential and a given evoked potential measurement. The similarities between estimated sensory neuro-pathways and physiological brain function regions are verified.

  • I made the axon to the electrical transmission model and then constructed electrical equivalent model using Kirhhoff's current law and voltage law in this paper. I calculated various axon parameters in order to analyze the electrical potential hehavior versus minute distance chang of axon. The transmission velocity of unmyelinated nerve is proportional to square root of axon diameter, while that of myelinated nerve is directly proportional to its diameter. Because the transmission of myelin sheath is independent of voltage unlike unmyelinated sheath, the Hodgkin-Huxley model across the membrane is not so precise.

  • One of the methods to transmit solute through solvent is diffusion. Various particles or molecules including several charged ions in the body diffuse from high density region to low density due to density difference or external electric field. This kind of mechanism is due to thermal motion of each solute molecules. These situations can be deployed using Fick's first and second laws that govern diffusion phenomena in the body. I analysis these diffusion status of material in the body using above mentioned Fick's laws and then implement them through illustration.

  • When the inferiorthreshold potential is applied on the membrane, the resting status membrane does not display any specific reaction, in the meanwhile if it receives somewhat higher voltages then it shows entirely different configuration. The fact that there is this kind of characteristics on the exciting membrane has been known for a long time, and some researchers have tried to analyze this situation using the electrical circuits but only limitted to inferiorthreshold potential case. The quantitative studies of especially for transthreshold stimulus is extremely rare up to now. The direct application of electrical circuit to biostatus is somewhat uneasonable because there may be much differences between them. We studied the electrical reaction quantitatively of biomembrane when it receives the transthreshold stimulus in point of electricity in this paper.

  • This study describes a method to find the torso surface potential based on the boundary element method. In order to find the torso surface potential, the governing equation was developed based on the green's second theorem. The boundary element method (BEM) which has a good computing capability in case of homogeneous and isotropic medium was applied to solve the equation. to validate the BEM, we considered a homogeneous sphere model which has an electrric dopole source inside. The results showed the good agreement between the analytic solution and the computed solution. In normal heart, the simulated torso surface isopotential maps are good agreement with that obtained form the ventricular excitation.

  • To better delineate the changes in corticospinal excitability when older adults are asked to observe and/or imagine actions, 22 right-handed older adults without neurological abnormalities were included in this study. The amplitude and latency of motor evoked potentials (MEPs) by transcranial magnetic stimulation were recorded in the abductor pollicis brevis of the dominant hand during passive observation/imagery/active observation of slow/fast action of abduction of right thumb and also at resting state. Thus, active observation showed better changes than passive, but slow and fast action revealed no difference at all.
