THE NITROUS OXIDE CONCENTRATION IN BREATHING ZONE ACCORDING TO SCAVENGING METHODS DURING DEEP SEDATION OF PEDIATRIC DENTAL PATIENTS (소아치과 환자의 깊은 진정시 호기가스 제거 방법에 따른 호흡대역에서 Nitrous Oxide 농도 변화)

  • The concentration of nitrous oxide in dental environment has increased especially in pediatric department. In pediatric department frequently met the behavior disordered patients who need the deep sedation. As the deeply sedated patients could not respond well to verbal command, the amount of mouth breathing would be increased especially with mouth prop which backward transposition of mandible. Inhalation of low concentration of nitrous oxide for a long duration has caused various side effects such as spontaneous abortion and inhibition of methionine synthetase activity which is harmful to DNA synthesis. For evaluation of factors of mouth breathing during deep sedation. The author measured the concentration of nitrous oxide in breathing zone by the change of the scavenging methods. One is drain the gas through the tail part of reservoir bag of Jackson Ree's system naturally. Another is scavenge from tail portion of reservoir bag with negative pressure. Last one is scavenge from nasal mask with negative pressure. The nitrous oxide concentration in breathing zone was the lowest in nasal part drainage but high above the recommended concentration of NIOSH. The order of nitrous concentration in breathing zone was: natural drainage, tail part with negative pressure, nasal part with negative pressure. This would reflect the order of resistance of nasal airway and showed the amount of mouth breathing. From the above experiment, the resistance of nasal airway by the increment of gas flow in corrugating tube and reservoir bag would be one of the causative factors of mouth breathing in deeply sedated patients.

  • Wave drag reduction due to the repetitive laser induced energy deposition over a flat-nosed cylinder is experimentally conducted in this study. Irradiated laser pulses are focused by a convex lens installed in side of the in-draft wind tunnel of Mach 1.94. The maximum frequency of the energy deposition is limited up to 80. Time-averaged drag force is measured using a low friction piston which was backed by a load cell in a cavity as a controlled pressure. Stagnation pressure history, which is measured at the nose of the model, is synchronized with corresponding sequential schlieren images. With cylinder model, amount of drag reduction is linearly increased with input laser power. The power gain only depends upon the pulse energy. A drag reduction about 21% which corresponds to power gain of energy deposition of approximately 10 was obtained.

  • The engine combustion is one of the most important processes affecting performance and emissions. One effective way to improve the engine combustion is to control the motion of the charge inside a cylinder by means of optimum induction system design, because the flame speed is mainly determined by the turbulence at compression(TDC) process in S.I. engine. It is believed that the tumble and swirl motion generated during intake stroke breaks down into small-scale turbulence in the compression stroke of the cycle. However, the exact nature of this relationship is not well known. This paper describes the tumble flow measurements inside the cylinder of a 4-valve S.I. engine using laser Doppler velocimetry(LDV) under motoring(non-firing) conditions. This is conducted on an optically assesed single cylinder research engine under motored conditions at an engine speed of 1000rpm. Three different cylinder head intake port configurations are studied to develop a better understanding the tumble flow generation, development, and breakdown mechanisms.

  • The battery pack which is a main component of E-scooter needs the cooling system because it is the matter of battery safety in spite of the incresing of charge efficiency due to decress the internal resistence in the condition of high temperature. The purpose of this study is to analyse the effects of cooling methods which is the control of air's inlet and outlet operating timing. When each battery had large temperature deviation in the battery pack, the difference of battery's performance and efficiency were appeared. In this study, the cooling performance of battery pack has been improved by changing the operation timing of inlet and outlet fan, it improved the performance and efficiency of battery. The numerical analysis using a commercial code ANSYS CFX version 17.0 were used for the study.

  • 고체산화물연료전지(SOFC)는 연료가 갖는 화학에너지를 연소과정 없이, 공기와 $H_2$, CO, $CH_4$와 같은 환원성 가스를 공급받아 $700^{\circ}C-850^{\circ}C$에서 전기화학적 반응을 통하여 직접 전기를 얻는 방식이다. SOFC는 여러장의 단위 셀을 적층하여 스택을 구성하는데, 스택 제조시 단전지에 공급되는 산화, 환원 가스의 누출이나 흡입을 막기 위하여 밀봉재를 사용한다. 이러한 밀봉재는 완벽한 밀봉, 열에 대한 안정성, 충격에 견디는 저항성 등의 기계적인 특성 및 구성요소와의 최소한의 열팽창계수차를 가져야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 $SiO_2-R_2O_3$-RO계에서 $R_2O_3$, RO의 변화에 따른 밀봉 특성 및 열팽창계수에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다.

Effects of Aromatherapy on Depression, Anxiety and the Autonomic Nervous System in Breast Cancer Patients Undergoing Adjuvant Radiotherapy (방사선 요법을 받는 유방암 환자에게 적용한 아로마 요법이 우울, 불안 및 자율신경계 반응에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The study was designed to verify effects of aromatherapy on depression, anxiety and the autonomic nervous system in breast cancer patients who are undergoing adjuvant radiotherapy. Methods: Data were collected from November 2006 through March 2007 at the C university hospital in Seoul. The study included 33 patients and they were assigned to three groups. Group I had aroma oil inhalation for 2 minutes per time, three times a day for six weeks whereas Group II and a control group inhaled aroma oil for 2 minutes per time, once a day for six weeks. For Groups I and II, a mixture of lemon, lavender, rosewood and rose essential oils were used while control group inhaled tea tree oil. Results: Depression was significantly decreased in patients in the experimental groups only. In Groups I and II patients, anxiety level was lower than that in control patients. Patients in Groups I and II also showed stronger physical resistance to stress than control group patients. Conclusion: Aromatherapy should be considered as a method that can significantly decrease depression in breast cancer patients who are undergoing adjuvant radiotherapy.

Study for Effective Cooling of Ni-MH Battery Module Using Forced Air Flow (공기 유동에 따른 Ni-MH 배터리 모듈의 효과적인 냉각에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, computational simulation was performed for thermal management of modules consisting of 10 batteries. Simplified structure and equivalent thermal resistance network was applied to maintain the thermal properties. Verification test of the mesh were in progress to ensure the reliability of 2.6 mm in the narrow gap between the battery, resulting in at least three divided mesh between the shape of the grid was required. Type of air from rear of the module, type of air from top of the module and type of air from bottom of the module were applied and effective cooling methods are discussed based on the location of fan and air intake of the modules. Maximum temperature and temperature differences of modules that directly affect the performance of the module were compared, and also behavior of the fluid was confirmed by comparing the air flow. The best maximum temperature is shown type of air from bottom of the module to $40.27^{\circ}C$ and type of air from top of the module shows smallest temperature difference $0.73^{\circ}C$.

An Experimental Study on Measurement of Flow Coefficient Using the Steady-Flow Test Rig (정상유동장치를 이용한 유량계수 측정에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Miller cycle is considered as an effective means to meet the regulation on Tier II and to reduce $CO_2$ emission. For this cycle, the amount of intake air supplied should be enough increased. Therefore, the intake system with minimized resistance for air flow is under consideration. In this study, the flow coefficients of intake valves were measured in order to obtain the basic data for the cycle simulation and intake port design. The flow coefficients were measured using the steady-flow test rig. As a test result for the poppet valve used the marine engine with medium speed, the flow coefficients are increased to about 0.62 with the valve lift. In addition it is confirmed that the flow coefficients have the characteristic value irrelevant to the S/B ratio.

  • 본 고에서는 지진해석과 관련하여 가장 중요한 원칙과 해석법에 대한 개략을 제시하여 철근콘크리트 구조물의 지진해석과 관련된 용어 및 특수과제를 언급하고자 한다. 이 해석의 위력이나 매력적인 점에도 불구하고 지진응답에 대한 해석은 항상 많은 불확실성에 부닥칠 수 있다는 것을 강조하고자 한다. 해석은 설계과정의 한 단계에 불과하여 수많은 컴퓨터 출력 페이지가 빈틈없는(sound) 기술적 판단을 대신하여서는 안된다. 구조물에 있어서의 지진력은 외부에서 가해진 하중으로부터 발생하는 것이 아니다. 구조물에 압력 및 흡입력으로 작용하는 풍하중과는 달리, 구조물의 기저(base)에서의 주기적 운동에 의한 응답으로서 상부구조물은 가속도를 받게 되고 따라서 관성력으로서 지진력이 얻어지게 된다. 지진응답은 기본적으로 동적인 성질을 가지며 고유주기와 감쇠와 같은 동적 특성은 이 응답을 결정하는데 결정적인 역할을 한다. 만약 지진해석이 실제적인 것이 되자면, 단순화된 방식으로라도 이러한 동적 특성을 고려할 수 있는 것이어야 한다. 이러한 동적 성질이 복잡성의 한 요인이며, 다른 요인으로서 해석적 장애가 존재한다. 대부분의 구조물은 최대지진에 대하여 상당한 항복현상을 나타냄으로써 저항하도록 설계하고 있다. 따라서 설계자는 최대지진에 대한 구조물의 비선형 동적 거동에 대하여 어느 정도 이해를 하고 있어야 한다. 원칙적으로 이것은 매우 복잡하고 어려운 해석적 문제를 제기하게 된다. 실제로는 매우 단순화된 해석법, 적절한 설계 및 상세의 조합만으로도 만족스러운 거동을 얻는 것에 부족함이 없다. 어쨌든 이러한 해석기법의 바탕과 한계를 이해하는 것은 필수적이다.tidyl ethanolamine$(20.9{\sim}29.7%)$, phosphatidyl inositol$(18.4{\sim}26.1%)$ 순으로 많았다. 각 구성지질의 지방산조성은 4종의 버섯 공히 linoleic acid와 palmitic acid가 주요 지방산이었으나 싸리버섯은 중성지질에서 oleic acid의 함량이 높았다.n the part of special landscape management area, it is necessary to introduce landscape impact assessment system to more effective landscape management.ch served as supporting organizations.   • The purpose of this paper analyzes and studies to seek the failure examples of electronic control actuators for engine in liquified petroleum gas vehicle. The first, it was verified phenomenon for intial starting damage and no-acceleration of engine because of occasionally fuel feeding interception by clogged of emergency cutting solenoid valve filter. The second, the contact resistance produced in the connecting part of engine control relay because of no fully surface contacting by processes and assembly badness. It was displayed phenomenon of re-starting badness. The actuator that idle speed control system was sticked inside because of intake-air decreasing by carbon deposit. As a result, it was verified the phenomenon of disharmony that repeated up and down the engine revolution.
