  • 연소전 조건에서 물리적 흡수제로 사용되는 PEG를 이용하여 이산화탄소 흡수특성을 조사하였다. 회분식 기-액 평형반응기를 이용하여 PEG분자량, 흡수반응 온도와 압력 등의 다양한 조건에서 흡수능을 측정하였다. 실험결과 PEG의 경우 분자량이 작을수록 흡수능이 뛰어났으며 흡수반응온도가 낮을수록 흡수능이 우수하였다.

The Estimation of Stand Biomass and Net Carbon Removals Using Dynamic Stand Growth Model (동적 임분생장모델을 이용한 임분 바이오매스 및 탄소흡수량 추정)

  • This study presents a method how to estimate the change of stand volume, the stand biomass and the carbon removals, using dynamic stand growth model according to whether the practices for forest management are implemented or not. As a result, it shows that the rate of stand change was significantly high if the practices were implemented. Consequently, the change of carbon removals was also high. The carbon removals at the stand where the practices were not implemented, was estimated about 0.27tC/ha. And the carbon removals at the stand where the practices were implemented, was estimated 166.02tC/ha(thinning from above) and 163.75tC/ha(thinning from below). It is confirmed that the thinning activities has a great influence on the change of carbon removals and there was little difference of the carbon removals between thinning types. From this result, it is proved that forest management like thinning activities is prerequisite condition to improve the carbon removals of stand.

  • The present study was carried out to investigate the difference of absorption and translocation of Ni by radish grown for 45 days under factors such as the levels of Ni in soil, soil pH, competitive metal interactions, covering with soil, organic matter and lime. Germination rate of radish in soil treated by Ni 150 mg/kg was 40%. As soil pH was increased, the contents of Ni translocated to radish showed the negative correlation$(shoot=-0.965^{**},\;root= -0.837^{*})$. The Ni content in shoot and root of radish grown under 50 mg/kg Ni treated soil were slowly decreased with iron levels increased. However Ni content in shoot and root of radish grown under 50 mg/kg Ni treated soil showed increasing trend with the increasing the zinc levels. As covering with soil, organic matter and lime were treated, Ni contents of shoot and root in radishes were in the decreasing order of organic matter>covering with soil>lime.

Growth Response and Absorption Capacity of Poplars on Livestock Waste Water (축산폐수(畜産廢水) 처리(處理)에 따른 포플러류(類)의 생육반응(生育反應) 및 축산폐수(畜産廢水) 흡수능력(吸收能力))

  • The two-month-old rooted-cuttings of Populus alba ${\times}$ glandulosa, P. euramericana and P. nigra ${\times}$ maximowiczii clones were exposed to livestock waste water - one of major water pollutants, and ground water in order to determine the effects of livestock waste water on growth response and absorption capacity of the species. For this purpose, 5 clones of each species were used. In all the species, the height growth of rooted-cuttings was better in livestock waste water treatment than in ground water. Of all the poplar species compared, the height growth was best in P. alba ${\times}$ glandulosa. In the cases of P. euramericana and P. nigra ${\times}$ maximowiczii, the height growth in the livestock waste water treatment was statistically different among clones, whereas there was no significant difference among P. alba ${\times}$ glandulosa clones. Aboveground biomass such as leaf and shoot dry weight of all the species increased in the livestock waste water treatment, while root dry weight decreased. In addition, chlorophyll contents in leaf of all the poplar species increased in the livestock waste water treatment. All the poplar trees showed temporal variation in the absorption amount of livestock waste water during the experimental period. In all the poplar species, the absorption amount of livestock waste water was less than that of ground water. Of 3 poplar species, P. alba ${\times}$ glandulosa was best in the absorption capacity of livestock waste water. Of all 15 poplar clones compared in this study, the 72-16 clone of P. alba ${\times}$ glandulosa showed the best absorption capacity.

  • To elucidate the pattern of nutrient absorption and endosperm consumption as the seedling age of rice, Dongjinbyeo was raised in the seedling box with different nitrogen levels. Absorption of nitrogen and phosphorus were high in the order of artificial seed bed soil, sand with N-1g /box and sand without N from 3 and 5 days after seeding but, potassium wasn't significantly different between sand+N-1g /box and sand. Endosperm consumption rate was high in the order of artificial seed bed soil, sand + N-1g /box and sand but, endosperm dependence rate (endosperm consumption /top dry weight) was vice versa. Seedling height and dry weight were higher in the order of artificial seed bed soil, sand+N-1g /box and sand from 3 days after seeding, number of leaves were more from 5 days after seeding in same order.

Studies on the ATpase Activity , Relaxing Activity and Calcium Uptake of Rabbit Skeletal Muscle Microsomes (골격근 microsome 의 ATMase 의 활성, 골이이오나용, 및 Ca 흡수작용에 관한 연구)

  • 토끼의 골격근 homogenate에서 23,000$\times$G, 60 분간의 원심분리와 얻은 근 microsome의 ATPase 활성, 근수축에 대한 이완작용, 및 Ca 의 흡수작용을 여러 가지 조건에서 측정하였다. ATPase 활성은 Ca++ Mg++ 양 이온의 존재에 의하여 활성화되며 , 5 mM Mg++ 의 존재하에서는 Ca++ 의 최적농도는 0.1mM이다. Oxalate의 존재하에서는 1 mM 의 Ca++ 이 최적농도이므로 oxalate의 작용은 불용성 Ca-oxalate의 작용은 불용성 Ca-oxalate를 microsome vesicle so 및 medium 내에 침전시켜 유리 Ca++ 농도를 저하시키는 것이라고 생각된다. Microsome의 이완작용은 조제후 120 시간까지 시간에 따라 감소되어 가나, 그이 ATPase 활성은 거의 변화가 없는 것으로 보아 Ca++ + Mg++ -의존성 ATPase 는 이완작용에는 직접 관련이 없는 것으로 해석된다. Oxalatedmlwhswo는 microsome의 Ca++ 흡수량을 현저히 증대시키며 동시에 흡수포화에 도달하는 시간을 지연시킨다. Oxalate의 이러한 효과도 Ca-oxalate의 형성에 기인하는 것으로 해석된다. Microsome 내에 축적되는 Ca 의 량은 ATP 농도가 커질수록 많아진다. 그러나 축적된 Ca 의 량과 ATP 농도사이에 화학정량론적 관계는 없는 것같다.

Factors affecting orthodontically induced root resorption of maxillary central incisors in the Korean population (한국인에서의 교정치료로 인한 상악 중절치 치근 흡수에 영향을 미치는 요소)

  • Objective: Orthodontically induced root resorption (OIRR) involves partial loss of cementum and dentin of teeth caused by routine orthodontic treatment. It decreases root length and influences the function of affected teeth. In this study, the treatment and patient factors causing apical root resorption in Koreans were determined. The observed factors were extraction, gender, age, displacement of root apex, total treatment period, total teeth length, and shape of the root. Methods: The records of 137 patients treated with full, fixed edgewise appliances were obtained from the Department of Orthodontics, Dankook University Dental Hospital, from November 2007 to December 2008. Periapical radiographs of the maxillary central incisors and cephalometric radiographs of each patient were used to assess apical root resorption and type of tooth movement. Results: The mean amount of resorption was $1.62{\pm}1.58mm$. The amount of resorption in the extraction and non-extraction groups was $2.10{\pm}1.64mm$ and $1.18{\pm}1.39mm$, respectively. The amount of root resorption increased with the total tooth length. Severe root resorption (> 4 mm) was related to abnormal root shape (blunt, pointed, or eroded). Conclusions: The variables significantly related to OIRR were extraction, initial tooth length, and root shape.

Preparation and Characterization of Bead Type Superabsorbent Resin (비드형 고흡수성 수지의 제조 및 특성연구)

  • Bead type super-absorbent resins to be used for release-control were prepared by modification of the inverse suspension polymerization, and their physical properties were characterized. Acrylic acid and acrylamide were used as monomers, and N,N-methylenebisacrylamide was used as crosslinker, controlling the viscosity of monomer solution by adding hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC). SEM studies of the synthesized beads verified that the bead surfaces had many pores with their diameters of several tens nm. The bead sizes were in the range of $500{\sim}3000{\mu}m$, depending on the viscosity of the monomer solution. Both absorbent amount and absorbent rate of the beads were inversely proportional to the bead size, and the maximum water absorbent amount of 1 g beads was determined to be ca. 170~200 g for 5 hrs. The absorbent rate was also dependent on pH change of the aqueous solution, exhibiting the maximum rate in pH ranging from 5 to 11. The absorbent rate decreased as the concentration of salt (NaCl and $MgCl_2$) or ethanol and ethylene glycol increased. Release time of the water absorbed into the bead resins was 700 hrs, confirming the usefulness of the resin for the good release-control materials.

Selective Action of Root-Treated Oxyfluorfen and Chlomethoxynil (근부처리(根部處理) Oxyfluorfen과 Chlomethoxynil의 선택작용성(選擇作用性))

  • Selective action of root-treated oxyfluorfen [(2-chloro-4-thrifluoromethylphenyl)-3'-ethoxy-4'-nitrophenyl ether] and chlomethoxynil [2, 4-dichlorophenyl-3'-methoxy-4'-nitrophenyl ether] were investigated. Oxyfluorfen showed greater activity to all plant species than chlomethoxynil. $^{14}C$-oxyfluorfen was little metabolized in roots of the plant species and more slowly absorbed than $^{14}C$-chlomethoxynil. These results suggest that herbicidal activity of oxyfluorfen at the site of action is higher than chlomethoxynil. In the tested plants, rice, barnyardgrass, sorghum, and corn were absorbed less of the oxyfluorfen and chlomethoxynil than the broad leaf plant species. However, no clear relationship was observed between a degree of tolerance and absorption and metabolism of both herbicides by the plant species.

CO2 Absorption by Alkali-modified Amino Acid Salts (알칼리금속을 함침시킨 아미노산 염 수용액의 이산화탄소 흡수특성 연구)

  • The present study attempted to impregnate alkali metals to amino acid in order to improve $CO_2$ absorption capacity. A used amino acid was glycine, of which pH increased up to about 11 with the addition of alkalies. $CO_2$ absorption capacity of amino acid salts was evaluated in a batch and a continuous process. The absorption capacity appeared in turns as; Sodium Glycinate ${\geq}$ Lithium Glycinate > Potassium Glycinate. Amino acid salts showed lower absolute capacity of $CO_2$ absorption than primary amine (Monoethanolamine) at $20^{\circ}C$. In a continuous absorption with 10% $CO_2$ flow, the increasing the reaction temperature, the increasing rate of absorption for amino and was higher that of than amino absorbent.
