  • The vibration of a vehicle, which is caused by and transmitted from the engine, has significant effect on the ride comfort and the dynamic characteristics of the engine mount system has direct influence on the vibration and noise of the vehicle. This paper examines the body shake caused by the engine excitation force on engine key-off of a jeep by experiment and computer simulation using a general purpose mechanical system program, DADS. The computer simulation model consists of the engine, body including frame, and front and rear axles and each axle has right and left tires. The force element between body and suspension is modeled as a combination of suspension spring and damper, and the unsprung mass has roll and pitch motion. The body shake obtained from experiment was compared with the result of computer simulation. Parametric study of the body shake on engine key-off is performed with changing the stiffness of engine mount rubber, the engine mount installation angle and position of engine mounts by using the verified computer simulation model.

  • AGV is most often used for the automation of freight transportation in the manufacturing industry or the distribution warehouses. AGV is fairly costly and used in goods transport between the determined location. The main control device dedicated to AGV is often autonomously developed for simplification using PLC in industry field. However, AGV developed for simplification makes many errors in traffic because it is developed for the limited simple function. Control device dedicated to AGV has been developed to solve the problem but it is almost impossible to revise the device according to the character and structure of every manufacturing industry. The purpose of this study is to propose the design method of the control system interlocked with PLC and dedicated to AGV. The control system should be to improve the problem of traffic rolling and possible to be revised according to the character of factory. It is apparent the proposed AGV system is efficient in operation in the result of several traffic performance analysis through the tests.

A Design and Implementation of Digital Vessel Context Diagnosis System Based on Context Aware (상황 인식 기반 해양 디지털 선박 상황 진단 시스템 구현 및 설계)

  • Digital vessels can occur large a disaster at sea because vessels in fire and collision in case of certain unforeseen circumstances. In this paper, We propose digital vessel context monitoring system through risk analysis. We propose environment information analysis system using wireless sensor that have to acquire marine environment and context of marine digital vessel. For conducting simulation, we chose 300 data sets to train the neural network. As a result, we obtained about 96% accuracy for fire risk context and we obtained 88.7% accuracy for body of vessel risk context. To improve the accuracy of the system, we implement a FEC (Forward Error Correction) block. We implemented digital vessel context monitoring system that transmitted to diagnosis result in CDMA.

Reliability Analysis for Fracture of Concrete Armour Units (콘크리트 피복재의 단면파괴에 대한 신뢰성 해석)

  • A fracture or breakage of the concrete armor units in the primary cover layer of breakwaters is studied by using the reliability analysis which may be defined as the structural stability. The reliability function can be derived as a function of the angle of rotation that represents the rocking of armor units quantitatively. The relative influences of all of random variables related to the material and geometric properties on the fracture of armor units is analyzed in detail. In addition, the probability of failure for the fracture of individual armor unit can be evaluated as a function of the incident wave height. Finally, Bernoulli random process and the allowable fracture ratio may be introduced together in this paper, by which the probability of failure of a breakwater due to the fracture of armer units can be obtained straightforwardly. It is found that the probability of failure of a breakwater due to the fracture of armor units may be varied with the several allowable fracture ratios. Therefore, it should be necessary to consider the structural stability as well as the hydraulic stability for the design of breakwaters with multi-leg slender concrete armor units of large size under wave action in deep water.

A Comparative Analysis of Two Inflatable Kayak's Effect on Players and Kayak Performances (두 종류 공기주입식 카약 보트의 성능 비교 및 선수 수행력 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences between two inflatable kayak by recording performance related variables during the kayak forward stroke motion. A total of 5 elite high school kayak players were recruited to participate while their kinematics and muscle activations were recorded while performing inside their high school swimming pool. Boat velocity, boats swaying angle, the average angular velocity and were used to evaluate the boats performance. The player's trunk rotational range of motion, knee flexion-extension angle range of motion, maximum trunk rotation angle, the knee flexion-extension angular velocity, and the upper and lower limb muscle activations were calculated and analyzed for the player's efficiency evaluation. There were no significantly different variables for the player's kinematics and their muscle activations for the two conditions. The B kayak was significantly faster than the A kaya. In addition there were no significant differences between the remaining variables for the two kayaks. In conclusion, the B kayak was faster than the A kayak, but neither of the kayaks had an influence on the player's performance variables.

Shape Oscillation and Detachment of Droplet on Vibrating Flat Surface (진동하는 평판 위의 액적의 형상 진동 및 제거 조건에 대한 연구)

  • This study aimed to understand the mode characteristics of a droplet subject to periodic forced vibration and the detachment of a droplet placed on a plate surface. An surface was coated with Teflon to clearly observe the behavior of a droplet. The contact angle between the droplet and surface and the hysteresis were found to be approximately $115^{\circ}C$ and within $25^{\circ}C$, respectively. The coating process was performed in a clean room that had an environment with a low level of contaminants and impurities such as air dust, detergents, and particles. To predict the resonance frequency of a droplet, theoretical and experimental approaches were applied. Two high-speed cameras were configured to acquire side and top views and thus capture different characteristics of a droplet: the mode shape, the detachment, the separated secondary droplet, and the waggling motion. A comparison of the theoretical and experimental results shows no more than 18 discrepancies when predicting the resonance frequency. These differences seem to be caused by contact line friction, nonlinear wall adhesion, and the uncertainty of the experiment. For lower energy inputs, the contact line of the droplet was pinned and the oscillation pattern was axisymmetric. However, the contact line of the droplet was de-pinned as the oscillation became more vigorous with increased energy input. The size of each lobe at the resonance frequency is somewhat larger than that at the neighboring frequency. A droplet in mode 2, one of the primary mode frequencies, exhibits vertical periodic movement as well as detachment and secondary ejection from the main droplet.

Real-Time Interested Pedestrian Detection and Tracking in Controllable Camera Environment (제어 가능한 카메라 환경에서 실시간 관심 보행자 검출 및 추적)

  • This thesis suggests a new algorithm to detects multiple moving objects using a CMODE(Correct Multiple Object DEtection) method in the color images acquired in real-time and to track the interested pedestrian using motion and hue information. The multiple objects are detected, and then shaking trees or moving cars are removed using structural characteristics and shape information of the man , the interested pedestrian can be detected, The first similarity judgment for tracking an interested pedestrian is to use the distance between the previous interested pedestrian's centroid and the present pedestrian's centroid. For the area where the first similarity is detected, three feature points are calculated using k-mean algorithm, and the second similarity is judged and tracked using the average hue value for the $3{\times}3$ area of each feature point. The zooming of camera is adjusted to track an interested pedestrian at a long distance easily and the FOV(Field of View) of camera is adjusted in case the pedestrian is not situated in the fixed range of the screen. As a experiment results, comparing the suggested CMODE method with the labeling method, an average approach rate is one fourth of labeling method, and an average detecting time is faster three times than labeling method. Even in a complex background, such as the areas where trees are shaking or cars are moving, or the area of shadows, interested pedestrian detection is showed a high detection rate of average 96.5%. The tracking of an interested pedestrian is showed high tracking rate of average 95% using the information of situation and hue, and interested pedestrian can be tracked successively through a camera FOV and zooming adjustment.
