Recently, the character image processing technology using portable device camera image at home and abroad are actively conducted, but Practical use are lower rate because of accuracy and time-consuming process problems. In this paper, we propose the license plate recognition method based on geometric information from portable device camera image. In the extracted license plate region we recognize characters using the chain code and the Thickness information through the cumulative projected edge after performing the pre-processing work considering the angle difference, the contrast enhancement and the low resolution from portable device camera image. The proposed algorithm is effective and accurate recognition by light and reducing the processing time. And, the results from the character recognition success rate was 95%. In the future, we will research about license plate recognition algorithm using long distance image or added motion blur image.

무선 인터넷 환경에서 무선 인터넷 브라우징을 지원하는 휴대폰 단말기는 각 단말기 종류별로 표시 가능한 줄 수, 화면 넓이, 칼라 지원 여부 등과 같이 다양한 표현 능력을 갖고 있음에 따라, 휴대폰 단말기를 통해 클라이언트에 의해 요청된 해당 컨텐츠는 각 단말기의 표현 능력에 따라 응용 서버에 의해 적절하게 변환되어 클라이언트에게 제공되어야 한다. 그러나 변환 작업은 처리 시간이 매우 많이 소모되는 작업이므로 캐쉬를 이용하는 방법이 효율적이다. 그러나, 무선 인터넷 환경에서는 다양한 종류의 휴대폰 단말기가 존재하므로 변환된 컨텐츠는 오직 그 컨텐츠를 요청한 단말기에만 유효하도록 캐쉬에 저장되기 때문에 캐쉬에 대한 적중률이 매우 떨어질 수 있는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 무선 인터넷 환경에서의 이러한 캐쉬의 약점을 극복하기 위해, 모바일 환경의 응용 서버에서 다양한 단말기를 위한 컨텐츠 변환을 지원하면서도 캐쉬의 적중률을 높일 수 있는 방법을 제안하며 이에 대한 설계를 논한다.

최근 각 이동통신사에서 자체적인 통합 UI를 개발하여 각 단말기 제조사의 UI 통합을 시도하고 있다. 이 UI 통합의 시도는 기업의 입장에서는 기업 정체성을 높이고 타 통신사와의 차별을 갖게 할 수 있고 사용자 입장에서는 현재 사용중인 단말기를 다른 단말기 제조사 제품으로 교체할 때 서로 다른 메뉴 구성이나 버튼 방식으로 인해 겪게 되는 불편을 해소해 주는 역할을 한다. 그러나 UI를 일괄적으로 통일한다는 것은 한편으로 개인과 집단의 감성이 무시되고 특정 타겟 단말기의 특성을 잘 표현하지 못하는 악영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 여성들이 선호하는 메뉴 아이콘을 조사 분석함으로써, 여성 타겟으로 출시되는 단말기 아이콘이 일관된 UI가 아닌 여성이 선호하는 감성 아이콘이 될 수 있도록 메타포를 제안하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 서울에 사는 18~35세 여성 40명을 대상으로 이동통신사 (S 사) 표준 UI 아이콘과 제조사별 아이콘 샘플을 추출하여 여성이 선호하는 휴대폰 단말기 아이콘을 선정하고 그 아이콘에 대하여 이미지 형용사 언어를 밝혀내도록 하였다. 이렇게 조사된 여성들이 선호하는 아이콘 및 이미지 형용사는 향후 여성 타겟 단말기 개발의 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

최근 모바일 기기의 대중화에 따라 교육 분야에서도 휴대전화 단말기를 비롯한 모바일 디바이스 기반의 다양한 응용 소프트웨어 연구가 활발하다. 휴대전화 단말기는 휴대성과 이동성, 그리고 개인성의 장점이 있으며, 교육현장의 교사들은 시간과 장소의 구애를 받지 않고 필요한 정보를 관리할 수 있다. 이러한 추세에 맞추어 본 연구는 기존의 PDA에 적용되었던 전자교무수첩 시스템의 문제점을 개선하여 보다 실용적이고 대중적인 휴대전화 단말기에 전자교무수첩 시스템을 적용하여 설계하고 구현한다.

For map services in the mobile environment, it should be considered that resource restriction of the mobile device. Thus, if a map database dedicated to mobile services may not be developed, the spatial data extracted from general map databases should be simplified before transmitting. This paper suggests the mechanism to simplify and modify the spatial data, which are changed to be able to displayed on the mobile devices. This mechanism is based on the map generalization operations and is refined to adapt on mobile phone environment.

휴대형 심전도 단말기의 신호에서 잡음을 제거하고, 파형의 특징점을 찾아 임상파라미터를 추출하는 방법을 제안한다. 실험 결과, 본 방법으로 생성되는 심전도 형태와 임상 파라미터는 전문가의 소견으로 실제 사용상 만족할 만한 수준이었다. 우리의 조사에 의하면, 휴대형 단말기에서와 같이 잡음 수준이 높은 심전도 신호의 잡음 제거 및 해석에 대한 연구는 거의 발표된 적이 없다.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relation between mobile phone use and visual display terminal syndrome symptom experience in female students from middle school and high school. The convenience sample consisted of 349 female students in four schools. The data were collected from May to June in 2013 using VDTS Subjective Symptom Questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Mann-Whitney U test were used to analyze the data using SPSS 21.0. Almost all (96.3%) female students use mobile phone. Among them, 87.7% of the subjects experienced more than one VDTS symptom and the average score was $.39{\pm}.41$ in VDTS symptom experience. Eye related symptom was most experienced and musculoskeletal symptom was the highest in severity among five subdomain of VDTS symptoms. There were significant differences in VDTS symptom scores in accordance with posture, hours of use, and break type during mobile phone use. These findings suggest that the education program for adolescents would be necessary, and the development of checklist would be useful for adolescents to check themselves.

MEMS 가속도센서 기술의 발전은 가속도센서를 이용한 사용자 인터페이스 구현에 대한 연구를 촉진시키고 있다. 본 논문에서는 가속도센서를 기반으로 한 휴대폰 단말기를 사용하여, HCI 관점에서 센싱 기술을 소개한다. 이러한 기술은 센서 신호로부터 컴퓨터의 변위량을 계산함으로써 Knock & Mute 와 Tilt & Scroll와 같은 인터페이스를 구현할 수 있다.

Recently the range of mobile phone's usage has become more widely since phone has the function of data communication and voice communication. In addition, the request of users who wish to represent their identity on their mobile phones by storing some kinds of multimedia data such as images and melody has increased. There are two different methods for downloading the multimedia data; one method accesses a wireless internet server to download the data and another method downloads the data from PC directly. While the first one requires extra fee for downloading the data, the second method has weakness to modify the original data and it cannot be used in GSM phone yet since it is developed for CDMA phone. In this paper, we introduce a PC-based download application system that enables the users to download multimedia data from PC to GSM phone very easily.
