Mobile game meet Reality (모바일 게임, 현실과 만나다)

  • 오늘날 우리는 모바일 기기의 눈부신 성장과 보급으로 인해 누구나 손쉽게 모바일 게임을 즐길 수 있게 되었다. 많은 게임 제작 업체들은 모바일 게임개발에 총력을 기울이고 있고, 단말기 제조업체들 역시 게임 전용폰을 출시하는 등 모바일 게임에 대한 호응이 고조되고 있는 상황이다. 이는 모바일 게임이 시간과 공간적 개념을 뛰어넘는 이동성(Mobility)이라는 큰 장점을 가지고 있기 때문이다. 그러나 이러한 장점에도 불구하고 현재까지 모바일 게임의 컨텐츠는 기존의 다른 게임에 비해 그다지 큰 차별성을 가지고 있지 않다. 고스톱이나 단순한 퍼즐게임 등이 호응을 얻고 있기는 하지만 '이동성' 이라는 큰 장점을 살리기 위해서는 거 적극적이고 새로운 개념의 접근이 필요하기 때문이다. 더구나 요즘은 PSP 와 같은 막강한 휴대용 게임기가 등장하면서 휴대폰에서 즐기는 모바일 게임은 작은 화면이나 낮은 메모리 등의 한계로 인해 점점 더 그 자리를 내어주고 있는 실정이다. 그렇다면 '이동성'을 적극적으로 활용할 수 있는 모바일 개임 제작에 대한 새로운 접근방식은 어떻게 이루어져야 할까? 이를 위한 효과적인 방법으로 본 논문에서는 게임의 무대를 우리가 살고 있는 '현실-Reality'로 옮겨 올 것을 제안한다. 그렇게 되면 게이머는 모바일 기기가 가진 제약에서 벗어나 그 자신이 직접 현실세계를 배경으로 한 게임캐릭터가 되고, 물리적 이동에 따라 게임이 진행되는 전혀 새로운 방식의 모바일 게임을 경험할 수 있게 될 것이다. 현재 국내외적으로 이러한 실험적 시도가 조금씩 이루어지고 있기는 하지만 아직 호응은 그리 높지 않다. 그리하여 본 논문에서는 그러한 사례들을 조망하고 가장 효과적인 방법을 국내의 현실에 적합하게 적용할 새로운 모바일 게임의 방식을 제안하고자 한다. 연구사례로 제안 할 모바일 게임은 인터넷 미니홈피, GPS, 멀티미디어 메시지, 카메라 폰, 전자상거래의 기능을 통합하여 활용하는 'Dice Adventure Meeting'이라는 이름의 모바일 미팅 게임이며, 게임의 구체적인 시나리오를 살펴보면서 현실을 배경으로 한 새로운 모바일 개임의 제작에 대한 접근방법을 제시하고자 한다.

  • There is a need for content providers and operators to control the usage of downloaded digital contents. Digital Rights Management(DRM) is the means to control the usage of the digital contents once it has been downloaded. Therefore, appropriate security mechanism is required. The mobile DRM system Is same as the general DRM system. We use encryption technology to package digital contents. In case of Mobile DRM system, secure distribution and secure keeping of packaging encryption key is important. In this paper, we design and implement DRM system on the Mobile Environments following on OMA(Open Mobile Alliance) DRM Model. We considered being a secure DRM system to contain appropriate security solution.

  • Since the phenomenon that the consumers slip important calls since they do not know the receiving information of the smart phone in spaces which smart phones can not be carried, the development of technology to solve this problem is urgent and the cases of burglary and losses of smart phones during hobby and recreation life are increasing and especially since burglary behaviors are occurring much in places such as bathing resort, swimming pool, Korean dry sauna, sauna and spa etc, the schemes to protect smart phones during hobbies and recreation life is needed. Since the smart watch, the conventional wearable device are high price machines and due to the burden about A/S costs for the damage or failure of the machine during exercise, hobbies and recreation activities, the burden about the use is high, development of products which can reduce such burden and emphasize the usefulness is urgent and in order to solve this problem, the added value and psychological repercussion effect will be very high in areas of smart phone users and utilizing them by developing the system which can know if the smart phone has received calls at least in places where smart phones can not be carried.

  • In recent years, embedded systems have been expanding their application domains from traditional embedded systems such as military weapons, robots, satellites and digital convergence systems such as celluar phones, PMP(Portable Multimedia Player), PDAs(Personal Digital Assistants) to Next Generation Personal Computers(NGPCs) such as eating PCs, wearable computers. The NGPCs are network-based, human-centric digital information devices diverged from the traditional PCs used mainly for document writing, internet searching and database management. Wearable computers with battery capacity and memory size limitations have to use real-time operating systems with small footprints and low power management techniques to provide user's QoS in spite of hardware constraints. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a low-power RTOS (called eRTOS) for wearable computers. The implemented eRTOS has 18KB footprints and the dynamic power management and the device power management schemes are adapted in it. Experimental results with wearable computer applications show that the low power techniques could save energy up to 47 %.

  • With a rapid growth of hardware and product material industries, evolution of handheld terminal technologies is progressed. Various applications using mobile phone are the major trend in recent smart applications. Especially, interesting applications using camera module in a smartphone are developed continuously, mobile users are able to use various useful mobile applications nowadays. In this paper, we design and implement smartphone app for measuring real size of the shooting object in the image taken by a camera module in a smartphone precisely. We implement 4 different shooting modes for precise measurement of objects and 0 point control module is developed to minimize the differences of shooting images taken by different types and systems of various smartphones. The smartphone app proposed and implemented in this paper is analyzed and evaluated by a simulation study.

  • In this paper, we propose enhanced wireless power transfer system based on magnetic resonance for portable electronic device charging. Resonators were designed and fabricated for efficiency improvement and miniaturization through electromagnetism simulation using HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulator). Impedance matching network is employed to minimize reflections that is caused by difference between input impedance and output impedance. Receiver IC that consist of rectifier and Low Drop Out(LDO) regulator were designed and fabricated to reduce power loss. This chip is implemented in $0.35{\mu}m$ BCD technology. A maximum overall efficiency of 73.8% is determined for the system through experimental verification.

The Influence of Information Activities on the Feeling of Happiness for the Elderly in Korea (고령층의 정보활동이 삶의 행복감에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influences of the information activities (i.e., the ability of digital device use and the time spent of information retrieval) on the feeling of happiness for the elderly people in Korea. For this study, we conducted face-to-face interview with the elderly over 60 years old living in and around Daegu, Korea and analyzed 371 valid data for frequency, multiple regression and t-test using IBM SPSS version 21.0. The results showed that neither the ability of computer nor mobile phone use affect on the feeling of happiness, whereas both the ability of TV and telephone use influence positively (+) on it. In addition, the time spent of the business-related information retrieval influences negatively (-) on the feeling of happiness, but the time spent of the financial-related information retrieval influences positively (+) on it.

  • In this study, the characteristics of ITO thin film was investigated to finding a low cost and highly transparent electrodes for display of mobile communication devices. The ITO film was deposited by DC magnetron sputter. The experimental conditions were changed as follows: 1. ambient pressure changed 1 to 3 mTorr with 1mTorr step, 2. bias electric voltage changed with 10V step. The chamber was pumped out by rotary pump until 10-3Torr then the diffusion pump was used to lower the pressure of 10-6Torr. The results shows us the film growth was obvious when the bias voltage was larger than 300V, but the overall thickness tendency was existed: the more voltage is the thicker thickness. At 330V bias voltage condition, the deposition rate was the largest and apparent grain was showed.

  • In recent years, the performance and functions of portable devices has increased. so it requires more power efficiency and energy density while using the battery for a long time. therefore Battery pack which are made up from several battery cells in series in order to achieve higher operating voltage is being used. when using a Li-ion battery, we need a protection circuit to protect from overcharge, over discharge, high temperature and over current. Also, when using battery pack, we need to Cell voltage balancing circuit that each cell in tune with the balancing. In this paper, the proposed IC is applicable by mobile devices as well as E-bike, hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles, and is expected to contribute to the development of domestic PMIC.

  • Recently portable mobile devices such as smart-phones and notebooks have rapidly increasing demands. Those devices consume more power because they are expected to offer more complex functionality including multimedia features. For these reasons engineering efforts are changing to focus on maximizing energy efficiency within a limited battery capacity instead of increasing computational performance. In this paper, we propose a battery management system using event driven programming technique on a embedded processor. We also show that the proposed system satisfies SBS (Smart Battery Specification) v1.1. The proposed system maintains minimum code size and memory size comparing to those of RTOSs. The proposed system can be also easily incorporated in the conventional RTOSs as a form of firmware.
