  • 오늘날 우리가 사용하는 한글은 24자로 구성되어있고, 한국어만을 적기 위한 문자체계이다. 그러나 훈민정음은 28자소로 구성되어 있으며 한국어 이외에도 세계 모든 언어와 소리를 적을 수 있는 소리기호 체계이다. 현재 한글은 인터넷이나 컴퓨터에서 사용이 어렵고, 자판 구도가 불합리하며, 남북 및 세계 표준이 아직 정해지지 않고 있으며 정열방식이 불일치하고, 내부 처리 코드가 상이한 문제점을 가지고 있다. 기존의 한글처리로는 부적합한 것들을 종합적으로 해결하기 위하여 새로운 방식을 모색 하고, 미래의 방향을 제시한 목적으로 정음부호(OPA : Ortho Phonic Alphabet)의 코드 제안에 따른 기존 KS C 5601과 KS C 5700과의 코드 변환시 문제점과 OPA 표준화를 위해 이 연구를 수행한다.

Ortho-phonic Alphabet Creation by the Musical Theory and its Segmental Algorithm (악리론으로 본 정음창제와 정음소 분절 알고리즘)

  • The phoneme segmentation is a very difficult problem in speech sound processing because it has found out segmental algorithm in many kinds of allophone and coarticulation's trees. Thus system configuration for the speech recognition and voice retrieval processing has a complex system structure. To solve it, we discuss a possibility of new segmental algorithm, which is called the minus a thirds one or plus in tripartitioning(삼분손익) of twelve temporament(12 율려), first proposed by Prof. T. S. Han. It is close to oriental and western musical theory. He also has suggested a 3 consonant and 3 vowel phonemes in Hunminjungum(훈민정음) invented by the King Sejong in the 15th century. In this paper, we suggest to newly name it as ortho-phonic phoneme(OPP/정음소), which carries the meaning of 'the absoluteness and independency'. OPP also is acceptable to any other languages, for example IPA. Lastly we know that this algorithm is constantly applicable to the global language and is very useful to construct a voice recognition and retrieval structuring engineering.

"한글음성문자(The Korean Phonetic Alphabet)"의 연원에 대한 고찰

  • 한글은 세계 여느 문자처럼 자연 발생적으로 생긴 문자체계가 아니라 수천년간 인류의 어음에 대한 사유와 고도의 어음기술이 집약된 문자관에 의해 연역적 방법으로 창제된 문자체계이므로 다른 문자와는 차별적인 연구방법이 요구된다. 세종조에 편찬되었던 ${\ll}훈민정음{\gg}{;\}.{\;}{\ll}홍무정운역훈{\gg}{;\}.{\;}{\ll}동국정운{\gg}$는 제작 동기와 목적이 달라서 각각 상이한 어음체계를 가지고 있는데, 각 어음체계가 필요로 하는 글자꼴을 한글은 27개(자음16개, 모음11개)의 기본글자꼴에 발음부위 및 발음방법을 상형한 새로운 글자꼴을 제공하여 각각의 문자체계를 구성하였다. 유교적 언어관의 토양에서 세상 모든 음의 생성원리에 의해 창제된 한글은 바로 세상의 모든 음을 표기할 수 있는 문자체계인 것이다. 이러한 한글음성문자는 오늘날 이질어음체계의 외국어를 표음하는 데에도 예외 없이 적용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 글자꼴의 유연성.응용면에서 국제음성문자(I.P.A)보다 월등히 과학적이고 완정한 음성문자로서 기능할 수 있다.

  • Chinese is the most spoken language in the world. However, because Chinese is a hieroglyphic language, using Chinese in a digital environment is very inconvenient. Chinese users are using Pinyin for Chinese input, but the phonetic representation of the Latin alphabet is not good. Hunminjeongeum has an excellent phonetic representation which can improve Chinese usage in digital environment. Therefore, it is possible to improve the use of Chinese by Chinese users in digital environment and to help Korean users who are learning Chinese. Therefore, this paper proposes a Chinese input method using Hunminjeongeum. In addition, we develop an input software using this input method and verify its effectiveness by evaluating usability.

  • 본 논문은 동양의 중요사상중의 하나인 음양오행의 오행속성을 물리적으로 해석하여 사람의 오장육부의 크기와 얼굴형상에 따른 체질을 분류하였다. 이 분류에 대한 이론적 보완으로 동양최고의 의학서적으로 알려진 황제내경에 나타난 체질분류, 훈민정음에 창제 원리로 사용된 음양오행이론, 그리고 오행생식요법에서 제시한 얼굴형상등과 본 이론의 결과를 비교하였다. 그리스 철학자 엠페도클레스의 체질론이 감성연구에 대한 효시로 거론되고 있는 점을 고려할 때 동양의 전일적인 사고스시템인 음양오행에 의해 체질론에 대한 이론적 근거가 확립된다면 감성연구에 일조하는 바가 크리라 생각된다.

  • 한글 입력 방식은 글쇠배열과 더불어 추가적인 낱자들을 입력하기 위한 결합 규칙이라는 형태로 정의할 수 있다. 그런데 이 규칙을 토대로 입력 방식을 실제로 구현해 보면 겹낱자를 결합하거나 음절이 바뀌는 과정에서 모호성 같은 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 초성과 종성을 문맥에 따라 구분해야 하는 두벌식, 모바일 환경처럼 매우 적은 글쇠, 수십 종류의 낱자들을 조합해야 하는 옛한글이라는 조건이 더해지면 입력 방식을 기술하고 분석하는 난이도가 더욱 높아진다. 본 논문에서는 한글 낱자의 결합 규칙을 대결합과 소결합으로 구분해서 기술하는 체계를 제안하며, 이를 토대로 입력 방식의 예상 동작을 분석해 주는 프로그램을 소개하였다. 그리고 모바일용 삼성 천지인과 KT 나랏글 한글 입력 방식을 동일 프로그램으로 기술하고 분석한 결과를 제시하였다.

  • Chinese phonology is called 'juexue(絶學)' in Chinese linguistics field. For this, students of in Chinese universities as well as college students in Korea is unwilling to learn it. Chinese character phonetic is a very valuable resource in Sino-China comparative study as well as the Chinese phonology area. This study was attempt to develop the content model on education of Chinese phonology, such as Middle Chinese, Old Chinese, using close the data of Chinese character phonetic for students of Korea. In addition, I also make it known that contents of this paper is not a new discovery or analysis but recycling research of existing.

Logic Analyzer of Composite Hangul Units for Implementation of Input Methods (한글 입력 방식의 구현을 위한 범용적인 복합 낱자 분석 시스템)

  • A Hangul input method consists of two core components: key layout for primitive units (Natja), and binding rules to form more complex, composite units from primitive ones. However, careless design and implementation of an input method may result in ambiguity and inability of contiguous typing, when it comes to handle composite Hangul units. This is due to the collective nature of Hangul, namely, existence of implicit boundaries between units and syllables. This issue gets more challenging for the context-dependent 2-beolsik method, mobile environment having significantly fewer keys, and yet addition of the support for Old Hangul. For the sake of the management of complexity, we devised a system in which the binding rule is divided into two layers rather than one. Based on this concept, we implemented a tool program that, given the primitive units and their binding rules, generates input details of every composite unit and detects any potential ambiguity and conflicts. We presented the actual analysis result for Samsung Cheonji-in and KT Naratgeul, two of the most popular mobile Hangul input methods used in Korea.

Study on Creation Background and Divinational Principle of the Hun-Min-Jeong-Eum (훈민정음의 제자배경과 역학적 원리)

  • The Hun-Min-Jeong-Eum(訓民正音) has been created under the political purpose that is to unite politics and cultures through a philosophical harmony of the confucianism as well as the Buddhism under the periodical circumstance that includes the change of a dynasty and a revolution in culture. The creating work has been greatly affected by the theoretical divination, that is the confucian ideas of North-Song dynasty which has been highly elaborated in those days. The shape of the characters of the Hun-Min-Jeong-Eum(訓民正音) has been influenced by the ancient letters existing at the time (especially Ga-Rim-To 加臨多), it has been throughly readjusted and recreated based on the philosophy. The consonant uses the Three-Pillars(三才)(ㅇ, ㅁ, △) in the style of the five elements and each velar-lingual-labial-dental-guttural sounds (牙舌脣齒喉音) is applicable to five elements also a 'ㅇ' is equivalent to the heaven, a 'ㅁ' to the earth. a '△' to the man. The vowel uses the five elements of ㅗ(water). ㅏ(wood), ㅜ(fire), ㅓ(metal), ㆍ(five-soil), ─(ten-soil) in the style of the Three-Pillars(三才) of ㆍ, ㅡ, ㅣ and the first created letters(初出字), and the secondary created letters(再出字) each can be attached to the eight trigrams(八卦). The consonant has 17 letters and the vowel has 11 letters, therefore the total number of the letters is 28. and those are equivalent to the 28 constellation(二十八宿) of the astronomy. Contrary to the underlying principle that has been applied during the time of the creation of the letters, when the consonant and the vowel are used, the consonant refers to the heaven (天), and the vowel refers to the earth(地). a consonant take a part in making a point on the starting place of the pronounce, a vowel take a part in the keeping the energy to the end.

A Study on Environmental Design Treatments of Subway Stations in Terms of Visual Cues for Place Indication - Focused on the Cases of Seoul, Tokyo and Taipei - (장소지시단서로서의 지하철역 환경디자인 기법에 관한 연구 -서울, 동경, 타이페이 사례를 중심으로-)

  • Currently, finding one's way in the underground spaces associated with subway stations in large cities is becoming a serious problem, and an environment that facilitates wayfinding is becoming more important. This study investigated interior treatments that function as visual cues in the subway stations of Seoul, Tokyo, and Taipei in order to develop design guidelines that would improve the place-cognition environment. A theoretical study has shown that there are three categories of visual cue for place cognition: marked trails, regional differentiation, and landmarks. The case study showed that marked trails involve treatments like vertical markers, confrontational positioning, and subway color codes. Regional differentiation involves patterns on the floors and walls, and accent colors on the walls and columns. Landmarks include treatments such as super graphics, symbolic features, artistic decoration and special lights. In the cases of Seoul, marked trails and regional differentiation were predominant. In addition, the Olympic symbol 'Hodori' and the ancient Korean character "Hunminjungeum" were used as landmarks. In the cases of Tokyo, regional differentiation predominated over marked trails because of the complexity of the spatial structure and subway line connection system. In the cases of Taipei, simple, unified images predominated, and there was minimal dependence on marked trails and landmarks. The need for regional differentiation was weak, because the stations studied have open structures that guarantee an open field of view. The results of this research could be used as design guidelines, after further experimental verification, that would help to improve the public environment in terms of wayfinding.
