This study focuses on the analysis of body images appearing in the fashion illustrations since the 1990's and thereby attempts to determine relationship between their expressional features and aesthetic values in reference to theory of post-structuralism. Especially among numerous post-structuralist, Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze/Felix Guattari, and Julia Kristeva set unique arguments on body, which provide valuable leads to decipher the image of body. For that reason, body images shown in the fashion illustration are categorized into grotesque body, fragmented body, humanoid body, and post-gendered body, and reviewed their characteristics and aesthetic values based on critics of above three scholars. Findings are summarized as follows: First, image of body entails meaning of an resistance of traditional social concepts and order, and second it serves the purpose of creating a new and unique sense. Finally, it is not an object of representation of physical facts, but rather a representation of the real itself, apart from presenting the original material. Given arguments enhance understanding of images of body in fashion illustration in a broader sense.

본 연구는 조선시대 남자 포제(포제에 나타난 복식이미지의 구성요인을 밝히고 남자포제 유형별(철릭, 답호, 직령, 도포, 창의, 주의), 시기별(전기, 중기, 후기) 복식이미지를 알아봄으로서 조선시대 남자포제가 가진 복식이미지를 밝혀 현대 전통복식 디자인에 응용될 수 있는 기초적인 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 의복 자극물은 남자 평상복을 중심으로 하여 조선초기(1477년∼1543년)의 남자 포제로는 철릭, 답호, 직령 3점과 조선중기(18세기)는 도포, 창의 2점, 조선후기(17세기 후기∼20세기 초)는 주의 1점으로 하였고, 당 시대의 정화한 복식이미지를 살펴보기 위해 유물을 복원 제작하여 사용하였다. 이것을 모델에게 착장시켜 슬라이드로 제작한 후 자극물로 제시하였다. 의미지분척도외 구성은 자유언어연상법으로 형용사를 수집하여 23쌍의 형용사쌍을 구성하였다. 패널단은 대학생 남·여 총 600명으로 하였고 자료분석은 SAS을 이용하여 요인분석 분산분석 등을 사용하였다. 1. 조선시대 남자 포제의 요인구조는 품위성 요인(25.2%), 활동성 요인(l4.2%), 관할성 요인(37.9%), 현시성 요인(6.7%), 경연성 요인(5.7%)으로 구성되었으며, 이들 5개 요인의 전체변량 62.7% 중에서 품위성 요인, 활동성 요인, 관할성 요인이 전체변량의 50%를 넘어서 이 세 요인이 남자 포제에서 기본적으로 느껴지는 중요한 요인임을 알 수 있다. 2. 조선시대 남자 포제 유형별 복식이미지의 차이를 알아본 결과, 철릭은 가장 부자연스러운, 주름있는, 곡선적인, 부드러운, 특이한 이미지의 포제로 나타났으며, 답호는 가장 절제된, 직선적인 딱딱한, 특이한 이미지로, 직령은 가장 비활동적인, 답답한, 전통적인 이미지로 도포는 가장 품위있는. 관할한 이미지로 창의는 다른 포제에 비해 평범한, 단순한, 이미지로 주의는 가장 품위 없는, 일상적인, 활동적인, 단순한, 순수한 이미지의 포제로 평가되었다. 모든 남자포제가 전통적, 순수한 이미지의 포제로, 철릭을 제외한 모든 포제가 단순한 이미지로 나타나 조선시대 남자 포제가 공통적으로 가지는 이미지는 단순하고 순수한 이미지를 가지고 있음을 알 수 있다. 3. 남자 포제의 시기별 복식이미지에서는 조선전기(철릭, 답호, 직령)의 포제는 관할성 요인이 높은 의례적인, 관할한, 특이한 이미지로 평가되었고 조선중기(도포, 창의)의 포제는 품위있는, 절제된, 풍성한 이미지로 평가되었으며, 조선후기(주의)의 포제는 활동적인, 단순한, 직선적인 이미지로 나타났다. 따라서 시대별 남자 포제의 이미지는 시대적 여건과 상황에 따라 변화되어 왔으며, 시대에 따라 추구하는 이미지가 달랐다는 것을 알 수 있다.

The public has only a superficial understanding of the computer games, in spite of it's psychological effects and social results. Therefore, in this study, one finds out the serious approach which leads the computer games to recognize its future in terms of new media. Stand-point from Freud to french post-structuralist, it helps the introduction to understand the computer games as a kind of contents in which we are able to observe psychological process. As a result, there are studies about the structure of the dream, the desire, and the language which allow to mention 'parmakon' ; 'difference' between self and object, it provokes the psychological dynamism and so on, the playing the game remains a real trace and change, at the level not only of our psyche but also of our body.

The purpose of this study was to understand sexuality expressed in fashion in a discursive view and reinterpret sexuality represented in fashion in the 19th century in Foucauldian post-structural perspective. As for methodology, at first the conception of sexuality was examined from structural feminism to post-structural pluralism by a literature review and discussed in relation with the matters of body and fashion on the basis of Foucault's discourse. Then, sexuality represented in the 19C fashion as a case study was re-estimated in terms of power relationship between dominant and oppositional discourses and mainstream fashion and anti-fashion as well. The conception of sexuality in Foucauldian post-structuralism maintains the view of plural sexuality, which floats by discourse and power produced in a specific historical context. In the Foucauldian perspective sexuality expressed in the mainstream fashion and anti-fashion in the nineteenth century shows the following aspects. The mainstream fashion in the middle and latter of the 19C made the clear sexual difference in dress of plain and functional male suit and extravagant and decorative female dress on the center of bourgeois masculinity in the context of modernity and capitalism. Although anti-fashion was also co-existed with the mainstream fashion, it was criticized by the Victorian people. It codifies sexual ideology of the binary opposition of male domination and female subordination. Therefore, the traditional sexual ideology in the 19C is a capitalist value, which gives a priority to bourgeois man's profits, and the Victorian discourses of sexuality constructs the clear sexual difference in dress in the period.

Critical scholarship has shown itself much more adept at identifying and analyzing the content of religious geopolitics than its impacts or effects. This article suggests ways in which the concept of social performance can be used to more carefully consider the effects of religious geopolitics. Judith Butler's identity-oriented notion of performativity is usually geographers' point of entry into issues of performance. But its strong poststructuralist distrust of agency limits its power among those who question poststructuralism's grounding beliefs. This article illustrates the added utility of other theories of performance-particularly the recent pragmatic, dramaturgical, and non-poststructuralist theorization of social performance by the cultural sociologist Jeffrey Alexander-in evaluating the impact of religious geopolitical action. It does so through the case of a recent, particularly geopolitically laden Mormon General Conference. It concludes, through Butler and Alexander, that this General Conference likely accomplished significant geopolitical work. But it also, mainly through Alexander, argues that this work likely had limited capacity to motivate new or additional geopolitical action. Its power was more to reinforce than transform.

This study is concerned with analysing complexity, flexibility and dynamism of social discoursive space. The developmental process of social discourse is analogous to that of a spatial structure of social discourse. Post-capitalist society has seen New-Liberalism and New-Conservatism have become dominant, resulting in the deterioration of the cultural politics of citizenship. It is argued that the position of otherness, in which those binary structures (inside/outside or centre/margin) collide and collapse, is where subversive discourse can emerge to dominant discursive power. Furthermore, it is necessary to democratize social discursive space, through which the Other becomes able to. participate in the social production, distribution and consumption of social discourse.

In church tradition, cultural misappropriation has often legitimized unjust hierarchy rather than to challenge it. Under the rubric of culturalism, Christian Education has served to justify the oppressive system and maintain status quo as well. A feminist theologian, Rebecca Chopp argues that the contemporary Western culture has intensified narcissistic individualism and self-referentiality and has supported the powerful, while forced the marginalized to be silent. Chopp insists that the role, nature, and mission of Christianity is to provide Word and words of emancipatory transformation. She advocates poststructural feminist theology and aims at renewal of the socio-symbolic order in society by criticizing assumptions underneath language, culture and politics. In this study, we will review the interview with an Asian-American couple and disclose the underlying assumptions and hegemony which have contributed to maintain the male domineering system. I suggest that Christian education for emancipatory transformation should encourage the oppressed women to reflect critically the existing order and to restore their own voice through constructive intervention facilitating "plurivociy" and "problem-posing" dialogue. Proclaimation of transformative Word can empower the marginalized people to revision the world alternatives to monotheistic patriarchal modernism.

This thesis sets out to study the immanent mechanism of architecture which had classified as external spaces in general. As human controls a space, it controls or manages human's behavior, too. This study is depended on the humanities to analyze a various operation of power in the architectural space. It makes a comparative study of a space-power in a dwelling space through a discourse of Michel Foucault and Jacques Lacan, in particular everyday's microscopic scope. According to analytical results, the space-power of dwelling falls under the influence of a spacial arrangement and subject's desire. It has shown a noticeable characteristics in aspects production & consumption, using behavior, and use value. As it is seen through the aspects of production & consumption, owns of the space-power in a dwelling could not be its subject. We have also understood about a physicalistic furniture at the using behavior, it has a special power unconsciously to control a human's action and lifestyle. And then in the aspects of use value, the centric theme is a television. It lies on the core of space-power in dwelling, because is profoundly related to an innate respect of a dwelling value. In conclusion, so this study has the important meaning in the side to offer some interpretative possibility about the architectural space-power through a microscopic structure.

One of frequent phenomena in the contemporary cultural field is the alternative or accompanying interweaving phenomena which happens in the relative connection of A, B, and C. The power of interweaving mixture is one of energies which unify the contemporary cultural phenomena, and it appears as a major phenomena in the recent popular digital architecture. In this study, the mixture, shape, and contents in the contemporary space design is analyzed as a point of view of Post-Structuralism. Namely, the digital part and non-digital part of alternative and circulating existence in the space are classified and the interweaving phenomena in the contemporary space design are proved. It is studied for digital part and physical space to conjunct the hole space and smooth space of Deleuze as part of interweaving phenomena. It is clear that the compatible concept of the hole space and smooth space is crossed complexly or is coexisting in circulating and extending, and is showed as interweaving phenomena in one space.

The purpose of this study is to introduce the new regional geography approaches that have been lively discussed in English speaking countries since 1980s. The discussion of the new regional geography is based on intellectual interchange between geographers and social theorists. The new regional geographers regard a space as a more active thing. A space is not a merely passive container. It is not a outer settings, but a essential dimention of the human being. The new regional geography has been discussed in four perspectives: structuration theory perspective, spatial division of lavour theory perspective, world-systems theory perspective, and post-poststructuralism perspective. The new regional approaches well provide a new direction to regional studies. However, it is so abstracted in concepts for the empirical examinations that it is necessary to introduce a meso-level of concept.
