The incremental information content of accruals components of earnings for stock return: Discretionary accruals and non-discretionary accruals (회계이익 구성요소의 추가적 정보가치가 주식수익률에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines the relation between accruals components of earnings and stock return. Earnings are decomposed into four components: discretionary accruals, nondiscretionary accruals, nondiscretionary income and cash flow from operations. Because reported earnings in financial statement consist of cash flow from operations plus total accruals. We decompose total accruals into a discretionary accruals and a nondiscretionary accruals separately. This paper examines the incremental informational content of discretionary accruals and nondiscretionary accruals components of net income by regressing return on earnings' components in multivariate models. The empirical analysis is conducted on a sample of 1,580 firm-years comprising 158 firms during 1991-2003. discretionary accruals are obtained by decomposing total accruals into discretionary and nondiscretionary accruals conponents, using a pooled variation of the Jones model(1991). These findings suggest that the discretionary accruals(measured using a variation the Jones model) is priced by the stock market. Specifically, the discretionary accruals and cash flow from operations are positively associated with the stock return, and also nondiscretionary income, discretionary accruals are positively associated with the stock return. While this result is consistent with the market prices the discretionary accruals because it captures value-relevant information. Additional test report evidence consistent with nondiscretionary accruals conveying information about the stock return.

  • 방수로는 홍수 피해 경감을 사용되는 구조적 대책으로 최근 국내에서 널리 계획되고 있다. 이러한 방수로는 보통 횡월류위어 등으로 대표되는 유입부 구조물을 통하여 하천 본류와 연결되지만, 평상시에도 본류의 유량을 일부 분담하는 형태로 설계되는 젖은 하도(wet channel) 형태의 방수로는 별도의 유입부 구조물을 설치하지 않고 바로 본류에 연결되는 것이 일반적이다. 유입부 구조물을 통해 연결되는 방수로의 특성은 유입부 구조물의 수리학적인 특성에 의해서 많이 좌우된다. 이에 반해 젖은 하도 형태로 본류에서 바로 분기되는 방수로는 그 특성이 방수로의 폭(W), 방수로 분류각$(\theta)$등에 의해서 많이 좌우되며, 만약 설계된 방수로의 횡단면 형상이 사다리꼴 또는 직사각형 단면을 따른다면 이러한 흐름은 "제한 영마루고 횡월류위어 흐름(restricted zero-height side weir flow)"으로 분류할 수 있다. 이러한 조건에서의 흐름은 일반적인 횡월류위어 흐름과 많이 다른 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 방수로 폭 및 분류각을 변화시켜 방수로 분류 조건을 다양하게 구현하여 실험을 수행하였으며, 특히 분류각 변화에 따른 유량계수의 변화를 분석, 검토하였다. 또한 측정된 방류량을 기준으로 산정된 유량계수를 기존 연구자들이 제시한 영마루고(zero-height) 횡월류위어 유량계수 산정식에 의해 산정된 결과와 비교하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 분류각이 90도인 경우 본류 프루드수의 증가에 따라 유량계수가 점차 감소하였으나, 분류각이 90도 보다 작은 경우에는 본류 프루드수가 증가함에 따라 유량계수가 점차 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 한계를 만족시킬 입체 영상) 입체영상은 영화에서 시작되었으나, 20c후반기에 들어서면서 애니메이션 분야와 모바일, 광고 패널, 텔레비전등의 매체를 이용한 입체 영상의 개발로 인하여 특정 분야에 한정 시킬 수 없으므로 영상으로 칭한다. 입체 영상은 21c에 들어서면서 영상매체의 한 분야로 급부상하고 있다. 1900년 무렵부터 연구된 입체영화(3-Dimensional motion Picture)는 In여 년이 지난 지금 대중화를 눈앞에 두고 있다. 국내에서는 놀이 동산이나 박물관등에서 흔히 볼 수 있다. 하지만 앞으로는 HDW등의 대중화로 화질의 발전을 이룬 텔레비전 분야 등에서 실용화 될 전망이다. 국제적인 흐름과 함께 국내에서도 입체 영화에 대한 연구가 활성화 되어 영상산업의 한 주류로서 대두되고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 입체영상에 대한 이해와 콘텐츠(Contents)의 개발은 기술적인 진보에 발맞추어 준비되어야 한다. 본 논문은 이러한 기술적인 계보에 발맞춘 영상 콘텐츠 개발에 박차를 가하고자 앞으로의 발전분야에 대한 기술적인 면과 기법적인 면을 제시하여 기술만 앞서고 내용은 수입하는 수입국이기 보다는 미리 준비하여 비전문가나 타국의 기술에 선점 당하지 않는 분야로 성장할 수 있는 진보적인 영상 인들의 관심과 지속적인 연구를 독려하고자 한다.시민의 휴식 및 여가선용 공간으로 활용하기 위한 사업의 기초자료로 활용되며 이미 설계검토가 시작되었다. 본 연구결과는 유수지 및 저수지의 환경개선 사업의 선두적인 성공사례로 국내 타 지역의 유사한 사업에 있어 벤치마킹을 할 수 있는 훌륭한 사례가 될 것이다.요 생산이 증가하자 군신의 변별(辨別)과 사치를 이유로 강력하게 규제하여 백

  • The puporse of this research is to analyze the impacts of derivatives to firm value. The sample of this research consists of 20 domestic life insurance companies and the duration of the research is the year between 2002 and 2009. And multi-regression analysis by cross-sectional analysis approach is used for the entire sample in this study. The result of the research indicates the impact of derivatives use on the value of the firm, which was the original focus of this study, is insignificant. And firm value increases as the leverage, rate of return on a loan, the ratio of product for annuity and the ratio of expense decrease.

The effect of corporate risk on Korean bond market (기업의 위험이 회사채 수익률에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzes determinants of bond returns in terms of systematic risk versus idiosyncratic risk by examining relationship among those factors. First we examined the cross-sectional determinants of corporate bond returns with Korean bond market data from 2001 to 2014. This paper uses term factor and default factor for systematic risk, and duration factor and credit rating factor for idiosyncratic risk. The empirical result shows that systematic risk can explain cross-sectional differences of bond returns rather than idiosyncratic risk which is the same result in advanced markets(US or Europe). This result is different from the previous Korean studies which showed that idiosyncratic risk is more important than systematic risk in Korean bond market. The reason for the different result may be the longer sample period which includes the most recent period. It is insisted that Korean bond market is getting more synchronized with the advanced bond market. In conclusion, this empirical result implies that Korean bond portfolio managers should focus on systematic risk, which is contrary to current system in Korean asset management industry.

Evaluation of Channel-forming Discharge for the Abandoned Channel Restoration Design of Cheongmi Stream (청미천 구하도 복원 설계를 위한 하도형성유량 산정)

  • The abandoned channel restoration is one of methods to enhance the environmental function and ecological habitat as well as the functions of water-utilization and flood control. The channel-forming or dominant discharge must be evaluated and defined to design the cross-sectional and plane geometries of the stable and equilibrium channel for the abandoned channel restoration project. In general, bankfull discharge, specified recurrence interval discharge, and effective discharge have been used to decide the channel-forming discharge. In this study, bankfull discharge, specified recurrence interval discharge, and effective discharge were calculated and compared for the abandoned channel restoration site of Cheongmi Stream and their relations to historical bed changes were analyzed. The bankfull discharge, 488 $m^3/s$, of the abandoned channel restoration site of Cheongmi Stream was calculated using HEC-RAS data and ranged between 1.5-year and 2-year recurrence discharges. Also, the effective discharge evaluated with the sediment rating curve and mean daily discharge data is greater than the bankfull discharge. According to the survey data of 1994 and 2008, the bed elevation of the study reach was decreased over time. It is indicated that the channel bed is changing to the stable condition to allow the effective discharge.

Study on Analysis of RTM Process to Manufacture Bogie Frame Skin Depending on Thickness (대차 프레임 스킨의 두께에 따른 RTM 공정 특성 분석 연구)

  • In this study, we analyzed process numerically when a bogie frame skin is manufactured by applying resin transfer molding process using composite material instead of steel. Processing time was compared based on the various thickness of bogie frame skin and the weight variation of a skin was also considered. As a result, RTM processing time decreases and the weight of a bogie reduces as the thickness of frame skin increases with the assumption that fiber volume is constant inside the skin. By considering these results as the information to estimate the production cost, trade-off between two fields, processing time and structural properties, can be performed in design optimization to produce bogie frame.

  • Surface Image Velocity (SIV) is a technique which measures the surface velocity of river by using the principle of Paticle Image Velocimetry (PIV). The technique is economical and efficient way to measure velocity in rivers. The present paper aims to apply the technique to three rivers in Korea. It uses pairs of river surface images taken with two digital-cameras and reference points and cross section data which were acquired through plane survey. The performance of SIV was verified with automatic cart on an experimental flume. The test revealed that average error was less than 10 %, which assures that SIV can be used to measure velocity accurately. When it was applied to rivers with low water levels or rough weather condition, however, it showed the error about 20 %. If the problems of SIV technique are settled down, it can be one of the most convenient and economical ways to measure water discharge anytime and anywhere. And then it would be helpful to river management as developing a real-time river information system.

The Effect of Digital Technologies on Adolescent Mental Health: The Role of Parenting Style and Peer Attachment (청소년의 컴퓨터 및 인터넷 이용이 정신건강에 미치는 영향: 양육방식과 또래애착의 조절효과)

  • This study examined the effect of digital technologies on adolescent mental health; attention deficit, aggression, depression. Furthermore, we investigated the role of parenting style and peer attachment as they might have effects on digital technologies. Using two-wave longitudinal data, we conducted longitudinal analysis from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey done in 2015 and 2016. Results showed that computer and internet usage for learning purpose has a positive effect on mental health, while computer games and social media have negative effects. Also, the positive effects of learning on depression indicated stronger in adolescents who felt less affection from their parents. On the other hand, the negative effects of computer games and social media could be moderated by both parenting style and peer attachment. Implications of these results and directions for future research are discussed.

A Novel in Vitro Method for the Metabolism Studies of Radiotracers Using Mouse Liver S9 Fraction (생쥐 간 S9 분획을 이용한 방사성추적자 대사물질의 새로운 체외 측정방법)

  • Purpose: Usefulness of mouse liver S9 fraction was evaluated for the measurement of the metabolites in the in vitro metabolism study of $^{18}F$-labeled radiotracers. Materials and Methods: Mouse liver S9 fraction was isolated at au early step in the course of microsome preparation. The in vitro metabolism studies were tarried out by incubating a mixture containing the radiotracer, S9 fraction and NADPH at $37^{\ciirc}C$, and an aliquot of the mixture was analyzed at the indicated time points by radio-TLC. Metabolic defluorination was further confirmed by the incubation with calcium phosphate, a bone mimic. Results: The radiotracer $[^{18}F]1$ underwent metabolic defluorination within 15 min, which was consistent with the results of the in vivo method and the in vitro method using microsome. Radiotracer $[^{18}F]2$ was metabolized to three metabolites including $4-[^{18}F]fluorobenzoic$ acid within 60 min. It is likely that the one of these metabolites at the origin of radio-TLC was identical with the one that obtained from the in vivo and in vitro (microsome) method. Compared with the in vitro method using microsome, the method using S9 fraction gave a similar pattern of the metabolites but with a different ratio, which can be explained by the presence of cytosol in the S9 fraction. Conclusion: These results suggest that the findings of the in vitro metabolism studies using S9 fraction can reflect the in vivo metabolism of novel radiotracers in the liver. Moreover, this method can be used as a tool to determine metabolic defluorination along with calcium phosphate absorption method.

고용흡수력(雇傭吸收力) 및 인력수요(人力需要) 결정요인(決定要因)에 대한 실증분석(實證分析)

  • 산업구조(産業構造)의 고도화과정(高度化過程)에서는 고용흡수력(雇傭吸收力)이 감소(減少)하는 양적측면(量的側面)의 과제(課題)와 기술인력(技術人力)의 수요(需要)가 상대적으로 증가(增加)하는 질적측면(質的側面)의 인력정책과제(人力政策課題)가 동시에 야기(惹起)된다. 본(本) 논문(論文)에서는 이러한 여건변화(與件變化)에 대응(對應)하는 정책과제(政策課題)를 도출(導出)하기 위하여 인력수요(人力需要)의 결정요인(決定要因)을 실증분석(實證分析)하였다. 거시분석(巨視分析)에서는 1970~84년(年) 기간(期間)의 연간(年間) 시계열자료(時系列資料)를 이용(利用)하여 노동수요함수(勞動需要函數)를 추정(推定)하여 산업별(産業別) 결정요인(決定要因)을 비교분석(比較分析)하였으며, 미시분석(微視分析)에서는 섬유(纖維) 자동차(自動車) 전자산업(電子産業)에서 임의추출(任意抽出)한 200개(個) 표본기업(標本企業)에 대한 횡단면자료(橫斷面資料)를 이용(利用)하여 기업(企業)의 인력수요행태(人力需要行態)를 분석(分析)하였다. 산업별(産業別) 노동수요(勞動需要) 분석결과(分析結果)를 보면, 자본비용(資本費用)에 대한 노동비용(勞動費用)의 상대적상승(相對的上昇)이 노동수요(勞動需要)를 감소(減少)시켜 왔으나, 고용(雇傭)은 기본적으로 자본투자(資本投資)로부터 더 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났으며, 또한 자본(資本)의 고용창출효과가(雇傭創出效果), 특히 제조업부문(製造業部門)에서, 시간(時間)의 경과(經過)에 따라 감소(減少)하는 것으로 분석(分析)되었다. 미시분석결과(微視分析結果)를 보면, 전문대졸(專門大卒) 및 고졸학력(高卒學力) 근로자(勤勞者)에 대한 수요(需要)는 중소기업(中小企業)에서, 대졸(大卒) 및 중졸이하학력(中卒以下學歷) 근로자(勤勞者)는 대기업(大企業)에서 흡수(吸收)하려는 것으로 나타났으며, 생산요소중(生産要素中) 노동(勞動)에 대한 투자우선순위(投資優先順位)는 자동차산업(自動車産業)에서 높게 나타났으며, 숙련기능인격(熟練技能人格)에 대한 수요(需要)는 세 산업(産業) 모두 높게 나타났다.
