A Study of the New Approaches to the Disputes Resolution Processes in Construction Projects (건설공사 분규해결 절차의 새로운 정립에 관한 고찰)

  • Arbitration is adopted recently as dispute resolution vehicle for major construction projects in Korea. These arbitration cases show that complex construction disputes are resolved reasonably by newly-introduced arbitration process and this trend will continue. This paper reviews the expanded concept of dispute resolution for the new approaches to the disputes resolution processes in construction projects. The expanded concept includes that disputes need to be assessed reactively and proactively in construction project and need to be managed effectively in advance. In this paper, dispute resolution methods used in Korea are reviewed and analyzed against ADR methods available in US construction industry The new approaches to the dispute resolution Processes are based on the concept of 'Disputability' which means dispute management through prevention, avoidance and predictability of dispute issues and characteristics.

The Effect of Stress Response in Middle Age on Psychological Fertility Positive, Automated Thinking Mediating Effects (중년기 스트레스 대처가 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향 긍정적 자동적 사고 매개 효과)

  • The purpose of the study is to verify the mediating effect of positive automatic thinking in the relationship between stress coping and psychological well-being in middle age. For this study, a survey was conducted on middle-aged people under the age of 40 to 65 living in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Incheon. A total of 200 questionnaires were distributed from March 9 to March 27, 2023, and 187 questionnaires were used for the final analysis, except for 13 copies whose responses were judged to be poor or unreliable. Correlation, factor analysis, and structural equation models were conducted, and bootstrapping was analyzed to verify the mediating effect. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that coping with stress in middle age affects psychological well-being. As a result of analyzing the influence of problem-solving-oriented, social support-oriented, and avoidance-oriented as sub-factors of coping with stress, it was found to have a significant effect on psychological well-being. Stress coping has been shown to have a direct effect on psychological well-being and increase psychological well-being through the parameters of positive automatic thinking. consequently within the individual of coping with stress in middle age.It is expected that the buffering effect of external factors and positive automatic thinking will improve psychological well-being in middle age and achieve positive results.

  • ASEAN marking its 50th anniversary in 2017 draws hopes and concerns. There is hope for the full realization of the vision of ASEAN Community since 2015 while there are increasing concerns about the changing internal and external environments. This article reviews the process of ASEAN's community building and its external relations. First, after reviewing institutionalization and functional cooperation in 2016, it argues that there is increasing pressure for the modification of the 'ASEAN Way' mainly due to the recent political changes in some ASEAN member states. Second, this article considers the nature of ASEAN's external relation focusing on continuity rather than change. The tendency of external relations of ASEAN appears to be 'avoiding conflict' and 'status quo' while it concentrates on development cooperation. We argue that such attitude contributes to the unity of ASEAN as it is useful in searching for regional resilience which is a common goal of ASEAN power elites.

Multi-Agent based Design of Autonomous UAVs for both Flocking and Formation Flight (새 떼 비행 및 대형비행을 위한 다중에이전트 기반 자율 UAV 설계)

  • Research on AI is essential to build a system with collective intelligence that allows a large number of UAVs to maintain their flight while carrying out various missions. A typical approach of AI includes 'top-down' approach, which is a rule-based logic reasoning method including expert system, and 'bottom-up approach' in which overall behavior is determined through partial interaction between simple objects such as artificial neural network and Flocking Algorithm. In the same study as the existing Flocking Algorithm, individuals can not perform individual tasks. In addition, studies such as UAV formation flight can not flexibly cope with problems caused by partial flight defects. In this paper, we propose organic integration between top - down approach and bottom - up approach through multi - agent system, and suggest a flight flight algorithm which can perform flexible mission through it.

An Exploratory Study on Work Conflict Experience (직장 내 갈등경험의 과정에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • This study aims to identify work conflicts in Korean socio-cultural context by applying grounded theory. Survey has been conducted through in-depth interviews with 11 different employees from various occupational categories. Data collected from the survey were then analyzed based on the grounded theory of Strauss and Corbin (1998), thus resulted in a paradigm model consisting of 31 categories, 63 subcategories, and 100 concepts by open coding. Axial coding was then conducted and the results were as follows. The causal condition was the 'character of an opponent'. Contextual conditions which affect the causal condition were 'situational characteristics', 'character of an opponent', 'character of oneself', and their 'mutuality'. 'Negative feeling' was the central phenomena of work conflict and action/interaction strategies were verified to be 'avoidance', 'expression', 'effort toward solving problems' and 'increasing conflict'. Intervening conditions were 'interrelation', 'intervention', and 'group/task characteristics'. The consequences were organized as 'conflict continuance', 'personnel change' and 'positive effect'. Through selective coding, 'managing with the conflict' was derived as core-category and three different types of management were classified. Ultimately, this study shows how employees work in Korea experience the work conflicts and what kinds of socio-cultural factors have influence on the work conflicts, which can supplement previous inadequate empirical research. Also, this study can provide implications and suggestions as a fundamental integrated model for the future empirical research on work conflicts.

A Study on Tracking Control of Omni-Directional Mobile Robot Using Fuzzy Multi-Layered Controller (퍼지 다층 제어기를 이용한 전방향 이동로봇의 추적제어에 관한 연구)

  • The trajectory control for omni-directional mobile robot is not easy. Especially, the tracking control which system uncertainty problem is included is much more difficult. This paper develops trajectory controller of 3-wheels omni-directional mobile robot using fuzzy multi-layered algorithm. The fuzzy control method is able to solve the problems of classical adaptive controller and conventional fuzzy adaptive controllers. It explains the architecture of a fuzzy adaptive controller using the robust property of a fuzzy controller. The basic idea of new adaptive control scheme is that an adaptive controller can be constructed with parallel combination of robust controllers. This new adaptive controller uses a fuzzy multi-layered architecture which has several independent fuzzy controllers in parallel, each with different robust stability area. Out of several independent fuzzy controllers, the most suited one is selected by a system identifier which observes variations in the controlled system parameter. This paper proposes a design procedure which can be carried out mathematically and systematically from the model of a controlled system; related mathematical theorems and their proofs are also given. Finally, the good performance of the developed mobile robot is confirmed through live tests of path control task.

Optimal Path Searching for Efficient Migration of Mobile Agent (이동 에이전트의 효율적 이주를 위한 최적 경로 탐색)

  • In this paper, we propose the optimal migration path searching method including path adjustment and reassignment techniques for an efficient migration of mobile agent which has an autonomous ability for some task processing. In traditional agent system, if the various and large quantify of task processing were required from the users, it could be derive excessive network traffic and overload due to increasing the size of agent. And also, if an agent migrates from node to node according to routing schedules specified by the user at which the most of network traffic occurs, it could not actively cope with particular situations such as communication loss and node obstacles and required much cost for node traversal Therefore. this paper presents the migration method of agent which can try to adjust and reassign path to the destination automatically through the optimal path search using by network traffic perception in stead of the passive routing schedule by the user. An optimal migration path searching and adjustment methods ensure the migration reliability on distributed nodes and reduce the traversal task processing time of mobile agent by avoiding network traffic paths and node obstacles.
