  • 본 논문에서는 높은 전송량을 요구하는 차세대 UHDTV(ultra-high definition television) 방송시스템을 위하여 MIMO(multi-input multi-output) 전송 기법을 고려하였다.

  • In this paper, a method of reducing torque ripples caused by phase winding inductances in BLDCM(Brushless DC Motor) drives is presented. In order to compensate the inductive current delays, commutation angle is controlled by the value compensating angle varied in accordance with rotational speed. Using the microprocessor AVR 8515, the proposed compensator is implemented and experiments are done with a 4-pole 3-phase BLDCM. The results show the remarkable reduction of torque ripple at whole speed ranges.

  • This paper details the result of flight experiment that examines performance of roll angle estimation algorithm of slowly rolling munition taking time delay of measurement into account when measurement comes in delayed fashion. As the measurement is passed through low pass filter for numerical stabilization and de-noising purpose which induces time delay, we design augmented state Kalman filter that incorporates distribution models of stochastic delay over time. Flight experiment was conducted to verify the algorithm at around 250m high AGL(Above Ground Level) conveying velocity of 28m/s from fixed-wing mother plane to the munition. Munition was made spun with respect to its roll axis using internal reaction wheel afterward. Numerical comparison of proposing method's roll estimation performance with that of commercial aerospace graded GPS/INS shows that proposed filter design can effectively compensate time delay of measurement.

  • The time difference of arrival(TDOA) algorithm is being used widely for identifying the location of a source emanating either electrical or acoustic signal. It's application areas will not be limited to identifying the source at a fixed location, for example the origin of an earthquake, but will also include the trajectory monitoring for a moving source equipped with a GPS sensor. Most of the TDOA algorithm uses time correlation technique to find the time delay between received signals, and therefore difficult to be used for identifying the location of multiple sources. In this paper a TDOA algorithm based on cross-spectrum is developed to find the trajectory of two sound sources with different frequencies. Although its application is limited to for the sources on a disk plane, it can be applied for identifying the locations of more than two sources simultaneously.

  • Using an ellipsometer with dual rotating quarter-wave plates, we have analyzed the relationship between Fourier coefficients and Mueller matrices in the cases of an error-free optical system and of five systematic errors (alignment errors and retardation errors in the quarter-wave plates, and alignment error in the analyzer). In the case with five systematic errors, simulation results show that retardation errors cause more error in the diagonal elements of the Mueller matrix than do alignment errors. We have found that errors in the Mueller matrix caused by initial misalignment of the dual quarter-wave plates were the same. We have chosen the rotation rates of two quarter-wave plates such that the rotational frequencies ${\omega}_1$ and ${\omega}_2$ differ by a factor of 5, i.e. ${\omega}_2=5{\omega}_1$. The simulation results show 0.18% relative error in the diagonal elements ($m_{22}$ and $m_{33}$) and 200% relative error in the off-diagonal elements ($m_{23}$ and $m_{32}$), when we compare errors caused by misalignment of the analyzer to those caused by initial misalignment of the quarter-wave plates. We can use these results in measuring accurate Mueller matrices of optical materials.

  • We analyze the performances, such as the cell loss probability(CLR) and the cell delay time, of time division multiplexed(TDM) optical output buffers using traveling delay lines or delay-line loops for buffering. Since traveling delay lines used for buffering are superior over delay-line loops in terms of simplicity and signal quality, they were used in a conventional TDM optical output buffer. However, the latter is more flexible than the former in that the cell storage time is adjustable by changing the recirculating times of a cell in the loops. So we propose a novel TDM optical output buffer using delay-line loops for buffering. We show that the proposed TDM optical output buffer can reduce the number of buffering unit required to achieve a CLR of less than 10$^{-9}$ . When the number of buffering unit is sufficiently large, we show that both TDM optical output buffers have same cell delay time characteristic.

  • An optical payload needs to be validated its image performance after launched into orbit. The image performance was validated by observing star because ground site contains uncertainties caused by atmosphere, time of the year, and weather. Time Delayed and Integration(TDI) technique, which is mostly used to observe the ground, is going to be used to observe the selected stars. A satellite attitude scenario was also developed to observe the selected stars. The scenario is created to enable TDI to operate. Rotation angles of optical payload are determined in order for the selected stars to properly be passed at a desired angular velocity about rotation axis. The result of this research can be utilized to validate the quality of optical payload of a satellite in orbit. In addition, a quaternion for pointing selected stars is calculated minimizing the path from a given arbitrary attitude of satellite.
