Extension and Evaluation of Cooperation Protocol for Agent-based Videoconference System (에이전트 기반 화상회의 시스템에서 협조 프로토콜의 확장 및 평가)

  • In this paper, we propose the extension of cooperation protocol which realizes the autonomous control of QoS and show its effectiveness with implementation and experiments of our agent-based videoconference system. The autonomous QoS control in the agent-based videoconference system means the framework of adjusting its functions/abilities by itself to cope with the changes of user requirements and system resource situations. But, the original cooperation protocol used by the agent-based videoconference system is not enough to perform cooperation closely to use the limited resources effectively. In our proposal, the cooperation protocol is offended in the following points: (1) introducing a cooperation states, (2) extension of performatives, (3) introducing compromise levels. We embedded the proposed protocol to the agent-based videoconference system and experimented the behavior of the system. According to the experiments on this prototype system, we confirmed that the flexibility of the system is improved.

The Influence of Task Orientation and Preferred Self-View Size on Self-View Preference: Testing the Moderated Mediating Effect of Social Anxiety (과업지향정도 및 선호하는 화면크기가 비디오 피드백 기능 선호도에 미치는 영향: 사회불안의 조절된 매개효과 검증)

  • With the increase of video conferencing users and the development of technology, the situations where video conferencing is used and the layout of video conferencing interfaces are diversifying. Social anxiety affects video conferencing communication and is closely related to the self-view function, which is characteristic of video conferencing. The self-view function is part of the video conferencing interface that provides a small preview of one's own camera feed. Self-view is known to degrade work performance and cause fatigue; however, it is set as the default function on video conferencing software in a way that users generally prefer. This study used an online survey to study the effect of task orientation, preferred self-view size, and social anxiety on video feedback preference. Participants responded to questions assessing work orientation, social anxiety level, preferred self-view size, and self-view preference. The results showed that preferred self-view size mediates task orientation and video feedback preference. There was no significant difference in the mediating effect of the preferred self-view size according to the degree of social anxiety. These results offer insights into the interactions between users and video conferencing software and provide information that can be useful for designing video conferencing interfaces.

Meeting Minutes Summarization using Two-step Sentence Extraction (2단계 문장 추출 방법을 이용한 회의록 요약)

  • These days many meeting minutes of various organizations are publicly available and the interest in these documents by people is increasing. However, it is time-consuming and tedious to read and understand whole documents even if the documents can be accessed easily. In addition, what most people want from meeting minutes is to catch the main issues of the meeting and understand its contexts rather than to know whole discussions of the meetings. This paper proposes a novel method for summarizing documents considering the characteristics of the meeting minutes. It first extracts the sentences which are addressing the main issues. For each issues expressed in the extracted sentences, the sentences related with the issue are then extracted in the next step. Then, by transforming the extracted sentences into a tree-structure form, the results of the proposed method can be understood better than existing methods. In the experiments, the proposed method shows remarkable improvement in performance and this result implies that the proposed method is plausible for summarizing meeting minutes.

  • A video-conference system is being utilized in web based application services in various fields due to the widespread use of Internet and the progress of computer technologies. This system should use the public IP address for sharing file and white board and it is difficult to manage the internal network users of the firewall and non-public IP address users. In this paper, we propose an Application Level Gateway which transforms non-public IP address into public IP address. This mechanism is for the internal network users of the firewall or non-public IP address users over the Internet. We also propose a Control Daemon which manages video and audio media dynamically according to network bandwidth. This mechanism can start and terminate a video conference and manage the process of the video conference.

Implementation of T.130 Multimedia Conferencing System over LAN(Local Area Network) (LAN에서 운용되는 T.130 멀티미디어 회의 시스템의 구현)

  • For the multimedia conference in various networks, international standard works make progress with H and T series. T.120 series are recommended for multipoint data conference in various networks, but its demerit is not supported with video and audio capabilities. H.32X series are recommended for videoconference in various networks. To solve these problems, the combination of H.32X and T.120 are used. But many difficulties exist for consistent control. To solve these problems, T.130, T.131 and T.132 standardizations are made progress, and these are analyzed and implemented over LAN(Local Area Network). Our system introduced in this paper is currently operated on LAN, but can be operated with mixed networks with addition of underlying network dependent protocols.

  • 유비쿼터스 환경에서의 원격화상회의 시스템은 그 시스템을 이용하는 사용자에 따라서 시스템의 실행환경이나 사용자의 디바이스 환경 등 많은 변화 요소를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는, 사용자가 가질 수 있는 서로 다른 환경 등에 스스로 적응하여 효과적이고 최적화된 원격화상회의를 진행 할 수 있는 시스템 구조를 제안하며, 이를 이종의 플랫폼에서 구동할 수 있도록 각각의 플랫폼 환경에 최적화된 적응 구조를 동적으로 재구성할 수 있는 방법과 응용프로그램을 제안한다. 또한, 제안시스템의 프로토타입을 실제 구현하여 그 유효성을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 각종 웹사이트와 이메일을 통해 전달되는 회의공지에 포함된 회의장소를 나타내는 문자열로부터 실제 위치를 추정하는 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 직접 구현한 NER과 Relation-type Classification 모듈을 사용하였으며, 장소에 대한 모델은 기존의 지리정보시스템들과의 상호 운용성을 위하여 OpenStreetMap[6]과 Geonames[7]의 데이터 구조를 참조하여 설계되었고, 실제 위치를 구하기 위하여 내부자원 외에도, 각종 오픈API들을 외부자원으로 활용하였다.

  • We developed the conferencing system based on the conference service model which is defined in ITU-T T. 120 series standard. Our conferencing service system is operated over the local area network. The NetMeeting of Microsoft corporation is used as a terminal and the MCU is developed by ourselves. In this paper, we described the design and implementation method of transport protocol stack supporting Multipoint Communication Service (MCS). Also, we described the occurred problem during the interoperability test between MCU and NetMeeting. And then we suggested their solution.

  • Multimedia conference systems are classified into the tightly coupled conference and the loosely-coupled conference, the former is a peer-to-peer-conference or multi-point-conference based un the ITU-T H.323 standard, and the latter is the H.332 standard extended from the ITU-T H.323 standard. Loosely-coupled conference based on the H.332 standard is composed of small participants with the capacity of the send-receive mode and large participants with the capacity of the receive-only mode. In the H.332 conference, a subject and a media type of the multimedia conference is pre-announced for conquest of the difficulty of capability negotiation, and used SDP of IETF for that. Therefore, the H.332-conference can conquer a defect of the H.323 multimedia conference scalability. This paper analyzes H.332 standard for the loosely-coupled conference and describes an implementation of the H.332 multimedia conference systems.

  • This paper presents a study regarding a systemic structure that forms a link between heterogeneous terminals and the WebRTC (Web real-time communication) based video-conferencing systems. This system consists of a WebRTC-based terminal, a signal server for the relaying of the necessary signals for media negotiations, an MCU provides an interworking interface for the heterogeneous terminal, and the heterogeneous terminals that interwork with the MCU. This technology enables the interoperability between the WebRTC-based video-conferencing solutions and the legacy devices. In addition to reducing the replacement costs regarding new-technology-based solutions, the existing legacy equipment enables the use of multiparty-conference, thereby increasing the use ability of the conferencing systems.
