  • In this paper, we implemented the GenJTAG, a CAD tool, which generates a code of boundary scan circuit supporing a board level testing and d BIST(Built-In Self Test) written in verilog-HDL. A boundary scan circuit code that supports user's own BIST instructions is generated based on the informations from the users. Most CAD tools hardly allow users to add their own BIST instructions because the generated code described in gate-level. But the GenJTAG generates a behavioral boundary scan circuit code so users can easily make a change on the generated code.

  • In this study, the deposition of micrometer-scale metallic interconnects on LCD glass for the repair of open-circuit type defects is investigated. Although there had been a few studies Since 1980 s for the deposition of metallic interconnects by laser-induced chemical vapor deposition, those studies mostly used continuous wave lasers. In this work, a third harmonic Nd:YLF laser (351nm) of high repetition rates, up to 10 KHz, was used as the illumination source and $W(CO)_6$ was selected as the precursor. General characteristics of the metal deposit (tungsten) such as height, width, morphology as well as electrical properties were examined for various process conditions. Height of the deposited tungsten lines ranged from 35 to 500 nm depending on laser power and scan speed while the width was controlled between $3\~50{\mu}$ using a slit placed in the beam path. The resistivity of the deposited tungsten lines was measured to be below 1 $O\cdot{\mu}m$, which is an acceptable value according to the manufacturing standard. The tungsten lines produced at high scan speed had good surface morphology with little particles around the patterns. Experimental results demonstrated that it is likely that the deposit forms through a hybrid process, namely through the combination of photolytic and pyrolytic mechanisms.

  • In this paper, we propose a new signaling method and circuits for interface between the host and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) controller in the LCD system. The proposed circuits are allowed to transmit two data signals through modified-LVDS circuits and can reduce the operating frequency to a half. Then, we can solve EMI(Electro Magnetic Interference) problem and the power consumption by using differential signaling method. We have compared and analyzed the proposed method and the conventional methods in the power consumption and data rate. In addition, the proposed methods reduce hardware complexity significantly.

  • It is described in this paper that a newly developed quartz frequency modulator using V. V. C. diode would be more suitable for mobile FM portable transmitter, than conventional reactance modulator because of less need for multiplier stages in the former type. It is realized by theoretical and experimental results what is the most optimum relationship between the quartz oscillator, V. V. C. diode and coupled circuit elements in order to get the desired modulation linearity and carrier frequency stability depending upon the variation of circumference temperature and suplied source voltages.

  • With the development of the memory design and process technology, the production of high-density memory has become a large scale industry. Since these memories require complicated designs and accurate manufacturing processes, It is possible to exist more defects. Therefore, in order to analyze the defects, repair them and fix the problems in the manufacturing process, memory repair using BISR(Built-In Self-Repair) circuit is recently focused. This paper presents an efficient memory BISR architecture that uses spare memories effectively. The proposed BISR architecture utilizes the additional storage space named 'sign bit' for the repair of memories. This shows the better performance compared with the previous works.

  • In this paper, we propose a new division circuit for $GF(2^m)$ applications. The proposed division circuit is based on a modified the binary GCD algorithm and produce division results at a rate of one per 2m-1 clock cycles. Analysis shows that the proposed circuit gives $47\%$ and $20\%$ improvements in terms of speed and hardware respectively. In addition, since the proposed circuit does not restrict the choice of irreducible polynomials and has regularity and modularity, it provides a high flexibility and scalability with respect to the field size m. Thus, the proposed divider. is well suited to low-area $GF(2^m)$ applications.
