Flora was investigated in the Dongbok stream area of hwasun-gun, Jeonllanam-do from February in 2002 to August, were identified as 206 taxa; 75 families,158 genera,174 species,31 varieties and 1 form of plant. Hydrophytes of research site was investigated total, 29 taxa; 16 families, 23 genera, 26 species and 3 varieties. Emerged plants, submerged plant, floating leaved plants and floating plants among the hydrophytes was classified 22, 4, 2 and 1 taxa respectively. Naturalized plants of research site was investigated total, 19 taxa; 10 families, 17 genera, 17 species, 2 varieties. Based on the list of rare and endangered plants from the Forest Research Institute and the Ministry of Environment 1 species Sparganium stoloniferum were recorded in the studied area.
Sonjook island is located Samsan-myeon, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do. All of field information was collected from January 2001 to November 2002. The vascular plants recorded as total 584 taxa, 5 forms, 60 varieties, 519 species, 365 geneta, 113 families. Sonjook islands shows the typical vegetations including the lower area of temperate region of Korean peninsula and evergreen broad-leaved forests, Pinus thunbergii forest. The Korean endemic plants were recorded as 13 taxa (5 variety, 8 species, 10 genera, 10 families), 4 taxa as rare and endangered plants (Psilotum nudum (L.) Griseb., Milletia japoniea A. Gray, Arisaema negishii Makino, Sarcanthus scolopendrifolius Makino). The naturalized plants were 23 taxa (20 genera, 9 families, 8.2% among the total naturalized plants in Korea. This area is ecologically important place that Korea endemic plant, rare and endangered plants ranges much than area. On the one hand, threat from degraded by environmental pollution that share of naturalized plant rises gradually augment. Strong conservation policy and development control should be considered.
The effects of number of host plants and nectar plants on the number and diversity of butterflies were monitored and analyzed by simple and multiple regression from May 2008 to Sep 2009 in the Bubjusa region (Mt. Sokri, Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do), which was divided into four regions. The results demonstrate that the number of butterflies has a positive correlation with the number of host plant species, the number of nectar plant species, and the number of host plants multiple regression analysis. The number of butterflies also increased habitat area. However, the butterfly species number and diversity index showed lower correlation with the number of host plants and the area size of the divided region, respectively, when analyzed by simple regression. In addition, increased species diversity in a region with more diverse plant flora. These results suggest that the composite distribution of host and nectar plants with diverse plant flora is required for butterfly diversity and population preservation. Additionally, it also suggest that vegetation types complementarity all factors.
The vascular plant species in the areas of Gonamsan and Shiribong in the Baekdudaegan were summarized as 295 texa: 89 families, 193 genus, 245 species, 44 varieties and 6 forms.10 taxa were recorded in the surveyed areas as the Korean endemic plants: Hosta capitat (Liliacease), Polygonatum lasianthum var. corenum (Liliaceae), Chloranthus japonicus (Cloranthaceae), Salix hulteni (Salicaoeae), Clematis richotoma (Ranunculaceae), Spiraea prunifolia for. simpliciflora (Rosaceae), Vicia unijuga (Fabaceae), Viola albida (Violaceae), cornus walter(Cornaceae), Weigela subsessilis (Caprifoliaceae).According to the list of Korean rare and endangered plants complied in the studied areas:Iris ensata var. spoyanea(Iridaceae), Viola albida (Vioaceae) and Aristolochia contorta (aristolochiaceae) Due to the rapid destruction and increase of visitors and the studied areas are located close to the villages, the naturalized plant species in the areas were more frequently appeared than the rare and endangered plant species.
The present conservation status on the rare and endangered plants in Tokyusan National Park were surveyed and re-evaluated by the new criteria which prepared by I.U.C.N. The species such as Lonicera vidalii, Clematis chiisanensis, Cypripedium macranthum and Allium taquetii were grouped as Critical, Eranthis stellata, Abies koreana, Taxus cuspidata, Tricyrtis dilatata, Paeonia japonaca, Stewartia koreana, Rhododendron tschnoskii, Buplerum euphorbioides, Lilium cernum and Oreorchis patens were grouped as Endangered, Adonis amurenis and Disporum ovale were grouped as Vulnerable. The above mentioned species were mainly located at the vicinity of mountain trails and projected developing sites. The potentials for the habitat destructions, mainly, due to human activities are expected to be serious in the future unless the proper management plans prepared for the specific plants and the specific habitats.

This experiment was performed in order to study the relationship between physical properties of soil and the growth characteristics of Sedum reflexum. A correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS Ver 19.0 for Windows. The multiple regression analysis results of soil physical properties and growth characteristics were as follows. The regression equation: The length=$.993-14.070^*$(soil bulk density)+$.233^*$(solid phase)+$.038^*$(liquid phase)+$.068^*$(permeability). The significance of soil bulk density and solid phase was great. The width=$2.931-33.925^*$(soil bulk density)+$.566^*$(solid phase)+$.206^*$(liquid phase)+$.027^*$(permeability). The significance of soil bulk density and solid phase was great. The wet weight and dry weight of the upper and lower and soil physical properties did not have a direct relationship.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between nutrients and phytoplankton; and phytoplankton and organic matter. In order to examine the limiting nutrient for phytoplankton, Redfield ration was used and revealed nitrogen limitation. Nitrogen limitation was greatest with a 4.7 DIN/DIP ratio especially during the summer season. Chl.-a increase by 79% and 97% in spring and summer, respectively, compared to winter. COD was lowest with 0.84mg/l in winter and highest with 1.12mg/l in summer. The interrelationship between nutrients and Chl.-a was high. Relationship coefficient$(r^2)$ between DIN and Chl.-a, and DIP and Chl.-a were 0.93 and 0.89, respectively. This suggests Nutrients might be utilized at the increase of phytoplankton. Also, Relationship coefficient$(r^2)$ between Chl.-a and COD was 0.78. COD production rate was calculated with Regression Equation. The COD production rate was 25% in winter and 40% in summer.
Seawater temperature, salinity, inorganic nutrients and the standing crop of phytoplankton species of the 841 water samples from the upper 125 m at 15-40 stations on the 6 semiannual cruises in the southwestern waters of the East Sea (Korea) were studied during the period from September, 1981 to October, 1984, Among the 235 taxa identified two pennate diatioms, cylindrotheca closterium and Nitzschia delicatissima, were the most common and dominant species. The multiple regression analyses between net phytoplankton abundance (dependent variable) and associated environmental factors(independent variables) were applied to the samples from the surface mixed-layer. In spring the coefficients for the seawater temperature was 1. to 4.2 times greater than those for salinity, while the coefficients for the salinity was 2.1 to 3.4 times greater than those for seawater temperature in autumn. Distribution seawater temperature in spring, and salinity in autumn. Schematically the zone of high standing crops moved about on the T-S diagram in a cyclic manner. The distribution of phytoplankton standing crop was quite closely associated with the hydrographic conditions among various kinds of environmental factors studied.

A piecewise linear regression model able to describe disease progress curves with simplicity and flexibility was developed in this study. The model divides whole epidemic into several pieces of simple linear regression based on changes in pattern of disease progress in the epidemic and then incorporates the pieces of linear regression into a single mathematical function using indicator variables. When twelve epidemic data obtained from the field experiments were fitted to the piecewise linear regression model, logistic model and Gompertz model to compare statistical fit, goodness of fit was greatly improved with piecewise linear regression compared to other two models. Simplicity, flexibility, accuracy and ease in parameter estimation of the piece-wise linear regression model were described with examples of real epidemic data. The result in this study suggests that piecewise linear regression model is an useful technique for modeling plant disease epidemic.
