Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the perceptions of patient safety culture, safety care knowledge, and safety care activity among nurses at orthopedic hospitals. Methods: Data were collected during Feb. 16 and Feb. 26, 2017, from 195 nurses of 9 small to medium sized orthopedic hospitals. Questionnaires about patient safety culture, safety care knowledge and activity were used. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff\acute{e}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The safety care activity was positively correlated with perceptions of patient safety culture (r=.50, p<.001) and knowledge (r=.48, p<.001). Factors that had influence on the safety care activity were the patient safety culture (${\beta}=.30$, p<.001), age (${\beta}=.27$, p<.001), and knowledge of the safety activity (${\beta}=.21$, p=.004). The patient safety care activity was explained 36.6% by those factors. Conclusion: To enhance the patient safety care activity, it should be provided the environment and open communication for the perceptions of patient safety culture and the in service education program for safety care knowledge.
Purpose: This study investigated patient safety management activities among general hospital nurses and aimed to identify the factors influencing patient safety management activities. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive design included 159 ward nurses working at two tertiary hospitals located in Busan city. Data were collected with self-reported questionnaires from April 8 to April 20, 2024 and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression in SPSS 29.0. Results: Factors significantly influencing patient safety management activities in nurses were perceptions of patient safety culture (β = .47, p < .001) and perceptions of patient rounding (β = .31, p < .001). The explanatory power of these variables was 43%. Conclusion: This study found that perceptions of patient safety culture and perceptions of patient rounding had significant effects on nurses' patient safety management activities. Thus, it is necessary to promote patient safety management activities among nurses through the development of intervention programs to improve perceptions of patient safety culture and perceptions of patient rounding.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the influence of the perception of the importance of patient safety management and culture on employees' safety performance in small and medium -sized hospitals. Methods: The participants comprised 119 hospital employees, including nurses, doctors, and medical technicians. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS program. Results: The mean safety performance was 4.09±0.34, mean safety compliance was 4.12±0.44, and safety participation was 4.06±0.38. There were significant differences in safety performance by gender and job. Safety performance and its assocation with both perception of importance on patient safety management and, perception of patient safety culture showed a positive correlation. Safety performance was influenced by the perception of patient safety culture. The explanatory power was 15.7%. Conclusion: Based on these results, improving the perception of patient safety culture is necessary to increase safety performance. To this end developing and applying an interprofessional safety performance education program for employees in small and medium-sized hospitals is vital.

The purpose of this research is to confirm the degree of awareness, knowledge and attitude for the safety management of patients in elderly care facilities, to investigate the factors that affect the safety performance of patients by nursing caregivers, and to provide basic material for the development of educational programs for strengthening performance. The research target audience was 142 nursing caregivers working in the G metropolitan city and S city elderly care facilities, and the data collected from 7/10/2020 to 7/28/2020, were analyzed with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The ability of a nursing caregiver to perform patient safety is increasing as a result of higher education, higher patient safety awareness, and also more positive attitude towards patient safety. The major factors that affect the safety performance of patients by nursing caregivers were attitude toward patient safety, patient safety awareness, and the amount of participation in patient safety education. It's explanatory power was 26.9%. Based on the results of this research, we propose a study to confirm the positive effects of patient safety consciousness and attitude by confirming the education program completed by nursing caregivers and systematizing the education method and design in the education program of nursing caregivers.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the awareness of patient safety and performance of patient safety activities among hospitalized patients, and to provide basic data for the development of programs to improve them. The subjects were 103 adult patients at a general hospital in D city. Data were collected from Feb. 22 to Mar. 12, 2021, using structured questionnaires to measure the awareness of patient safety and performance of patient safety activities. The mean (±standard deviation) scores of awareness of patient safety and performance of patient safety activities were 4.22±0.52 out of 5 and 3.35±0.48 out of 4, respectively. The awareness of patient safety varied significantly depending on patient safety education (t=4.85, p<.001). The performance of patient safety activities varied significantly depending on marital state (t=2.75, p=.007) and patient safety education (t=3.88, p<.001). There was a significant correlation between the awareness of patient safety and the performance of patient safety activities (r=.59, p<.001). It is thus necessary to promote the improvement of the patient safety culture by developing programs to improve awareness of patient safety and performance of patient safety activities in hospitalized patients and to apply them systematically in clinical practice.

The factors that might affect patient safety management activities were professional autonomy (${\beta}=.23$, p=.003) and perceived patient safety culture (${\beta}=.55$, p<.001). The explanatory power of these factors for patient safety management activities was 33.5% (F=21.19, p<.001).
