A Study on the Design Factors of Complex Damper for Ventilation and Fire Protection (환기 및 소방용 복합댐퍼의 설계인자에 관한 연구)

  • This study carried out the design and analysis of complex damper as basis study for development of complex damper for ventilation and fire protection. This study established design and analysis theory of complex damper based on process, kinematics mechanism and mechanism modelling of complex damper. And this study established engineering data construction and a source technology that can design each element of complex damper through motion analysis simulation based on design and analysis theory. Therefore, it got result that can apply comprehensively in development of complex damper for ventilation and fire protection from this study. Also, it sees that can ready control means and technological countermeasure of smoke to developed of complex damper with this study.

CO Formation Characteristics in Under-ventilated Fire Conditions using a PSR (Perfectly Stirred Reactor) (완전혼합반응기(PSR)를 이용한 환기부족화재조건에서 CO의 생성특성)

  • 환기부족 구획화재에서 CO의 생성은 온도 및 조성에 큰 영향을 받으며, 구획 내의 체류시간 및 이동경로에 따라 복잡한 현상을 경험하게 된다. 그 결과 구획 내부의 CO 생성특성을 실험을 통해 상세하게 규명하는 것은 많은 한계가 있다. 이러한 배경 하에 본 연구에서는 환기부족 구획화재의 조건에서 총괄당량비에 따른 CO의 생성특성에 관한 수치해석 연구를 수행하였다. PSR(완전혼합반응기) code와 헵탄연료의 상세화학반응기구가 사용되었다. 주요 변수로서 체류시간, 온도, 반응물과 생성물의 혼합정도 그리고 열손실 등이 CO의 생성에 미치는 독립적 영향을 검토하였다. 추가로 주요반응에 의한 CO의 몰 생성률 및 소모율과 CO의 반응경로 분석을 통해 환기부족 구획화재의 조건에서 구체적인 CO 생성특성에 관한 이해가 시도되었다.

Study on Modification of Inside Environment in Windowless Weaning Piglet House (무창이유자돈사의 내부 환경 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This study was carried out to determinate the location and the number of air inlet and outlet, optimum air inlet velocity for effective ventilation in windowless weaning piglet house($2.90(W){\times}9.90(L){\times}2.80(H)$ m) by CFD(Computation Fluid Dynamics) simulation. The weaning piglet house for this experiment was consisted of 11 air inlets and 9 outlets, modified and simulated using CFD code, FLUENT. The simulation result for the original weaning piglet house, which was not modified, showed ununiform ventilation for each room. Therefore, for uniform ventilation, 4 air inlets and 1 outlet were completely closed, and 2 air outlets were partially closed. The simulation result for the modified weaning piglet house showed uniform ventilation for each room and the optimum air inlet velocity of 0.5 $m\;sec^{-1}$.

  • Indoor air quality has become increasingly important with the increase in time spent in residential environments, impact of external fine dust, yellow dust, and the post-COVID 19 pandemic. Residential mechanical ventilation plays a key role in addressing indoor air quality. The legal standard for residential air changes per hour in Korea is 0.5 ACH. However, there are no standards for the location of supply and return vents. This study atempts to analyze the impact of ventilation performance based on the location of supply and return vents. An experiment was conducted using the CO2 tracer gas concentration decay method in a mock-up house set inside a large chamber to minimize external influences. The experimental results indicated that the commonly used combination of 2 supply and 2 return vents in living room spaces had a lower mean age of air than the combination of 1 supply and 2 return vents. Using multiple supply and return vents had lower mean age of air than using just 1 supply and 1 return vent.

  • After installation of platform screen door (PSD) in subway stations, particulate matters (PMs), which are originally ventilated through the platform, are accumulated inside the tunnel of the subway system. It deteriorates an air quality inside the tunnel. To ventilate the accumulated PMs inside the tunnel, the natural ventilator which are located inside the tunnel (namely, tunnel ventilation system) are used as only one circulation system. In addition, the installation of PSD can affect to the aerodynamic variations inside the tunnel, since the PSD system was not considered factor when the tunnel ventilation system was designed. However, the researches about the tunnel ventilation system have not been adequate. Therefore, this study is carried out with two objectives: 1) to measure the velocity of air current by the train-induced wind, when the train passes through the tunnel, and 2) to investigate the typical patterns of air current by quantitatively evaluating the characteristics of inflow/outflow of air current which passes through the natural ventilation system. This study can suggest the basic standard to newly design the tunnel of the subway system as well as the ventilation system.

Evaluation of Ventilation Systems in an Enclosed Growing Pig House (무창육성돈사의 환기시스템에 따른 환기효율 평가)

  • An experiment was conducted to evaluate a ventilation system, which was devised to encourage farmers to use the enclosed growing and finishing pig housing system. A roof-air-entry ventilation system in winter and a side-wall-air-entry system in summer were evaluated. Air flow rate on the floor level which is the low part of pen and the living area of pigs in the enclosed growing and finishing pig house during winter was measured at 0 to 0.19 m/s at the minimum ventilation efficiency of 1,440 $m^{3}/h$. During summer the air flow rate was detected at 0.07 to 0.42 m/s at the maximum ventilation efficiency of 24,000 $m^{3}/h$. Therefore, it is concluded that the side-wall ventilation system is suitable for growing and finishing pigs in the enclosed house during the days of mid-summer and the roof-ventilation system was suitable during the coldest days of mid-winter. In addition, although the enclosed pig house has the system in which air exhausts through only one side wall, air should enter through both-side walls for the better ventilation performance.

A Study on the Effective Fire and Smoke Control in Road-Tunnel with Semi-Transverse Ventilation (Oversized Exhaust System) (도로터널 화재시 반횡류식 환기방식에서의 최적배연 연구(대배기구 방식))

  • The smoke control system plays the most important role in securing evacuation environment when a fire occurs in road tunnels. Smoke control methods in road tunnels are classified into two categories which are longitudinal ventilation system and transverse ventilation system. In this study it is intended to review the characteristics of smoke behavior by performing numerical analysis for calculating the optimal smoke exhaust air volume when a fire occurs in tunnels in which transverse ventilation is applied, and for obtaining the basic data required for the design of smoke exhaust systems by deriving optimal smoke exhaust operational conditions for various conditions. As a result of this study, when the critical velocity in the tunnel is 1.75m/s and 2.5m/s, the optimal smoke exhaust air volume has to be more than $173m^3/s$, $236m^3/s$ for the distance of the smoke moving which can limit the distance to 250m. In addition, in case of uniform exhaust the generated smoke is effectively taken away if the two exhaust holes near the fire region are opened at the same time.

Effects of Aeration Level to Root-zone on the Growth and Fruit Yield of the Hydroponically Grown Cucumber Plants in Spring Season (춘계재배시 양액재배 베드내 통기수준 차이가 오이의 생육 및 과실수량에 미치는 영향)

  • 초장과 엽수에 있어서는 별도의 배수판을 설치한 Bio-2처리구에서 높게 나타났고 fan을 이용한 강제환기를 시킨 Fan처리구에서는 낮게 나타났다. 경경과 엽면적에 있어서는 무통기처리구인 대조구에서 높게 나타난 반면 경경에 있어서는 Fan처리구와 배수구 통기구인 Bio-1처리구는 생육후기에 있어서 크게 차이가 나지는 않았으나 본 실험에서는 낮게 나타났다. 엽면적은 Fan처리구가 가장 낮게 나타났다. fan을 설치하여 강제환기를 시킨 Fan처리구가 과실수량과 과중, 과장에 있어서는 다른 처리구에 비해 높게 나타났고 무통기구인 대조구가 가장 낮았다. 전반적인 생육이나 과실수량 및 과실품질에 있어서는 근권의 수분함량비율이 비교적 안정적인 Bio-2처리구가 가장 좋은 것으로 나타났다.

풍속에 의한 체감온도 감소로 생산성 향상

  • 최근 육종개량의 발전과 성과로 인하여 대형화되었지만 고밀도 사육에 의해서 하절기 열사병과 심한 더위로 인한 생산성 저하가 큰 문제로 혹서기에 대두되고 있어 그 대응책을 반드시 세워야 할 것이다. 하절기 온도관리 대책으로서는 계사내의 공기유통을 좋게 하는 것이 가장 기본이므로 충분한 환기에 의해 닭의 체감온도를 낮추어 주게 되는 것이다. 그러나 우리나라와 같이 여름철의 기후 특성이 고온다습한 경우는 습도가 높아지게 되면 체감온도는 낮아지지 않는다. 그러므로 계사내의 습도를 저하시키기 위해서 환기휀 등을 이용해 깔짚과 계분을 건조시키는 것도 한가지방법이다. 일반적으로 열사병 대책으로 실시하고 있는 방법으로서는 입기구에 물 분무, 지붕에 물 분무, 계사내의 미세한 분무냉각 등 물을 이용하는 방법이나, 환풍기의 설치, 닥트송풍을 이용한 방법, 거칠고 얇은 그물에 의한 차광 등의 방법으로 온도를 낮게 할 수가 있다. 특히 산란계의 경우 여러 연구보고 자료에 의하면 산란계를 고온 환경에서 사육할 경우 난각질이 저하된다고 하는 보고가 많이 있다. 1일 중에 환경온도를 주기적으로 변화시킨 경우는 일정하게만 유지해 주는 환경온도에 비해서 난각질과 난각강도는 낮아지게 된다. 또한 산란계에 있어서 간헐점등에 대해서는 에너지 수준을 줄이는 기술, 또는 사료절감을 유도하는 방법은 계속 연구되고 있다. 따라서 다음은 하절기 산란$\cdot$육계사의 적온유지를 위한 온도관리 사례에 대하여 이야기하고자 한다.

  • 전산화폐활량계를 국산화하기 위하여 호흡기류 계측시스템을 개발하였다. 호흡기류를 측정하는 방법으로 Pneumotachography를 적용하였다. 자체 Pneumotachometer를 설계, 제작하였고, 증폭기와 필터를 통하여 0 - 5 V 범위의 기류신호가 출력되도록 하였다. 온도보정을 위하여 기류의 온도를 K-type 열전쌍으로 연속측정하여 보정신호를 역시 0 - 5 V 범위로 제공하도록 제작하였으며 따라서 온도에 따른 측정오차를 근본적으로 제거하였다. 피검자의 감염 가능성을 최소화하기 위하여 환기기구를 사용하였으며 전력소모가 적고 미세균의 제거가 가능하다. 본 시스템의 특성 측정 결과 충분히 우수한 정특성과 동특성을 얻었으며 현재 호흡기류를 정량분석하는 S/W-시스템을 개발중이다.
