The transition probability can be used for the estimation of subpopulation total in panel data analysis. In this paper a real data analysis is performed and the sensitivity of the sample size allocated in the subpopulation is examined by small simulation studies.

The purpose of this paper is to explain the factors affecting the wage of the vocational high school graduates. We particularly examine the effectiveness of controlling sample selection bias by employing the Tobit model and Heckman sample selection model. The major results are as follows. First it is shown that the Tobit model and Heckman sample selection model controlling sample selection bias is statistically significant. Hence all the independent variables seem to be statistically consistent with the theoretical model. Second, gender was statistically significant, both in the probability of employment and the wage. Third, the employment probability and wage of Maester high school graduates were shown to be high compared to all other graduates. Fourth, the higher parent's income, the higher are both the employment probability and the wage. Finally, parents education level, high school grade, satisfaction, and a number of licenses were found to be statistically significant, both in the probability of employment and wages.

확률도시위치는 주로 도시적 해석을 통한 연최대홍수량 또는 연최대강우량의 초과확률의 추정치 산정에 사용되며 빈도해석을 통해 선정된 적정 확률분포형과 표본자료의 개략적인 적합도를 도시적으로 파악할 수 있도록 해주기 때문에 오래 전부터 널리 이용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 Gumbel 분포에 적합한 도시위치공식을 새롭게 추정하기 위해 Gumbel 분포의 order statistic과 확률가중모멘트를 이용하여 다양한 표본크기에 대한 도시위치공식의 기본식을 유도하였고, 최적화 기법 중 하나인 유전자 알고리즘을 이용하여 유도된 도시위치공식의 매개변수를 추정하였다. 또한 본 연구에서 추정된 도시위치공식과 기존에 널리 사용되고 있는 도시 치공식의 정확도를 비교하기 위해 reduced variate 간의 오차를 계산하여 비교 검토하였다. 그 결과, 금회 추정된 도시위치공식은 높은 순위에서는 기존의 도시위치공식에 비해 더 정확도가 높은 것으로 나타났고, 표본크기에 대한 순위를 모두 고려할 경우에는 기존의 도시위치공식에 비해 정확도가 높은 것으로 나타나 Gumbel 분포에 대해서 높은 정확도를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

We review sampling schemes on successive occasions with partial replacement of units and propose a Rao-Hartley-Cochran(RHC) type's sampling scheme over two successive occasions with probability proportionate to observations on the previous occasion. For comparison of the reviewed and proposed sampling schemes, optimal estimator of population mean on second occasion and its variance are derived. The relative efficiency of the proposed sampling scheme is compared with other equal and unequal probability sampling scheme by theoretical and numerical simulation study. For simulation study, three artificial populations are generated by a time series model. It is observed that RHC type's sampling scheme has small variance and deviation in general.

There are cases when the sample size is determined based not only on the significance level but also on on the power or type II error. In this paper, we implemented the sample size and the power calculation when both the significance level and power for testing means in normal distributions and proportions in binomial distributions. The implementation is available on a web site. Alternately, we also calculate the power for a given effect size, type I error probability and sample size.

지난 20여년간 화물수송 분야에는 큰 변화가 있었다. 수송 공급 측면에서는 보다 다양하고 기술적으로 앞선 수송수단들이 등장했으며, 수송 수요 측면에서는 로지스틱스 개념의 도입으로 화주들의 보다 높은 수송 서비스가 요구 되었다. 수송수단의 수송 분담에 있어서도 특히 철도에서 공로로의 두드러진 화물이동 현상이 나타났다. 이러한 변화는 수송 현안 해결에 대한 관심을 높이고 화물수송수요 예측기법의 이론적, 개념적인 발달을 가져왔다. 그 중 두드러진 발달은 화주의 행태를 반영하는 행태모형의 개발과 새로운 자료수집 방법 및 자료형태이다. 전통적으로 화물수송 및 교통 연구에 널리 사용된 행태모형은 확률표본을 사용하여 왔으나, 80년대 부터 비확률 표본 사용에 관심이 높아졌다. 그 대표적인 것으로 기반근거 데이터를 들 수 있다. 이 데이터는 제한된 정보를 제공한다는 자료자체의 한계를 지니고 있으나, 자료수집이 용이하고 비용이 저렴하다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 화물수송 분야에서 선택기반 데이터를 이용한 연구는 현재까지 두 편이 발표 되어 있다. 따라서 볼 연구는 선택기반 데이터를 이용한 개별선택모형의 잠재력을 검증하는 것을 그 목적으로 하고, 네 종류의 제조품 그룹을 대상으로 기반근거 데이터를 수집하여 로짓모형을 추정하였으며, 추정결과를 이전 연구들의 결과와 비교하여 그 타당성을 검토 하였다. 추정된 결과는 통계적으로 유의하며 직관적으로 타당한 것으로 나타난다. 또한 그 결과는 문헌의 결과와도 일치하였다. 수송계획에 있어서 자료수집비용 절감의 필요성을 생각할 때 이것은 중요한 의미를 지닌다.

유한모집단에서 표본을 추출할 때 표본으로 추출되는 경우의 수를 줄이거나 바람직하지 않은 표본들이 추출될 확률을 줄이기 위해서 관리적 선정 방법을 사용한다. 본 연구에서는 여러 가지 표본추출방법들을 관리적 선정에 적용하고 예를 통해서 그 효율성을 비교하였다.

The asymptotic performance of the two-sample locally optimum rank detector for random signals buried in signal-dependent noise and additive noise is consigered in this paper. It is shown that the locally optimum rank detector, a nonparametric detector, has reasonable asymptotic performance for a class of correlated random signals, compared with the locally optimum detector. It is noteworthy that the the two-sample locally optimum rank detector perform almost the same with the one-sample locally optimum rank detector.
