  • Prepackaged system consists out of a dry mix which contains cement, sand, redispersible polymer powder and admixtures in the right proportions. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products using redispersible poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate)(EVA) powder. Polymer-modified mortars using the redispersible polymer powder with powdered with powdered shrinkage-reducing agent were prepared with cellulose fiber contents of 0, 0.5, 1.0% and shrinkage-reducing agent contents of 0, 4%, and tested for drying shrinkage, strength, adhesion in tension, water absorption. From the test results, the prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products with 4% of shrinkage-reducing agent content give good properties. and that their properties largely depends on the shrinkage-reducing agent content rather than the cellulose fiber contents.

  • The effects of polymer-cement ratio, antifoamer content and shrinkage-reducing agent content on the air content, setting time and drying shrinkage of polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder are examined. As a result the air content of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and antifoamer agent content. Regardless of the antifoamer content, the setting time of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to delayed with increasing polymer-cement ratio. Irrespective of the antifoamer content, the drying shrinkage of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content.

  • Application of UV curing technique for poly vinyl chloride (PVC) floor tiles coating has improved the quality of PVC floor. Various formulations including acrylated oligomers based on a polyurethane were blended with reactive monomers, photoinitiators and other additives. The used oligomers are commercial aliphatic urethane acrylates. Thin films were prepared on PVC tiles by bar coating with different formulations using UV radiation. The coating resins were characterized by FTIR. The properties of UV-cured films such as gloss grade and adhesion were examined. The properties of UV-cured films dependent on the influence of composition and processing conditions was studied. The investigation was conducted to achieve an optimal domain of composition and desired coating effect.

  • The effects of polymer-cement ratio, antifoamer agent content and shrinkage-reducing agent content on the drying shrinkage of polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder are examined. As a result, irrespective of the antifoamer content, the drying shrinkage of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content. Such a drying shrinkage development is due to the effect of reducing water from incorporation of EVA redispersible polymer powder and antifoamer agent.

  • To investigate in influence of photosensitizer used with benzophenone(BP) in the curing rate and physical properties of UV curable hard coating on plastic, we prepared UV curable clear and pigmented coatings with DEA, DMA, NPM and TEA as photosensitizer, respectively. The curing rate calculated from the decrease of the absorbance of acrylic double bond measured by FT-IR spectroscopy increased s follows; DEA>DMA>NPM>TEA. this order could be explained by the reactivity of diethylamino group of DEA and the ease of formation of activated complex between BP and photosensitizer during the curing process. In UV curable pigmented coatings, the order of curing rate increased as follows; DEA>DMA>TEA>NPM. It was found that the curing rate of the pigmented coating can be increased by light scattering of TiO$_2$. The hardness of coating film cured by photosensitization of DEA and DMA is higher than other photosensitizers due to the crosslinking reaction of DEA and DMA radical bound to polymer backbone.

  • This paper discusses the strength properties of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powders, which is widely used for the manufacture of prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products at present. The polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powders are prepared with various polymer-cement ratios, and tested for air content, flexural and compressive strengths, and tensile strength. The strength properties are almost the same as those of polymer dispersion-modified mortars, depending on the polymer-cement ratios, and are improved over unmodified mortar. In particular, between tensile strength and glass transition point of polymer powder have a high correlation. It is concluded from the test results that polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powders can be used in the same manner as ordinary polymer dispersion-modified mortars.

  • In general, the drying shrinkage of polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powders is much higher than that of unmodified mortar. The purpose of this study is to reduce the drying shringkage of polymer-modified mortars using a redispersible poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate) (EVA) powder, which is widely used for the manufacture of prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products at present. Polymer-modified mortars using the redispersible EVA powder with powdered shrinkage-reducing agent were prepared with various polymer-cement ratios and shrinkage-reducing agent contents, and tested for drying shrinkage and strength. From the test results, the drying shrinkage of the redispersible EVA powder-modified mortars with a powdered shrinkage agent is remarkably reduced with increasing shrinkage-reducing agent content, and becomes approximately a half of that of the redispersible EVA powder-modified mortars with the same polymer-cement ratios and without the shrinkage-reducing agent at a shrinkage-reducing agent content of 6%.

  • This paper describes a development of conversational program for lathe. The proposed program is a NC programming system specialized for use in machine tool controls. Its easy to use graphic interface built-in database capabilities make it an ideal way to program part on the shop floor. In order to manage effectively machining process it proposed the algorithm of tree structures for design processing. Also using interative structure it proposed the methods of conversational programming to generate automatically NC program.

  • An attempt was made to study the subdivision of Korea by the annual amount and the annual change pattern of monthly precipitation days(that is one of the important elements of the precipitation characteristics), using the mean values for the years 1961-1990 at the 68 stations. The amplitudes of annual change were normalized and using these values, the principal component analysis was applied to determine the annual change patterns. The results show that they are expressed by the combinations of the three change patterns in almost whole regions of Korea. As a result, the annual change pattern of precipitation days in Korea is classified into 8 types from A to e,in detail, 36 types from A0 to e$\circled2$.And regional division of precipitation days in Korea is divided into 13 regions from I a to IIIC,into detail, 41 regions from I no to IIICl.
