  • It has been pointed out that various substances such as "toxoalbumin", glycoside, choline or readily hydrolysable choline derivatives, alkaloid, lysolecithine etc. are associated with the toxicity of the infected grain. But animal tests and analysis of paper chromatography by author's indicated that a basic substance present in the concentrated extracts from the grain may neither be acetylcholine, betaine, nor choline. This problem still have to be examine further.

  • In this report, some practical problems that are concerned with the infected barley were examined. Most of the toxic substance is present in the bran. It was almost impossible to remove the toxic substance with water or methanol completly, however, we found it is effectively eliminated by soaking the whole grain with 2%, calcium hydroxide suspension for 24 hours. As a detoxifying agent, kieselguhr was very effective; the grain mixed with little amounts (0.4-0.5%) of kieselguhr may be used as an animal feed.

  • 알루미늄 합금의 종류중 하나인 ADC12는 가공성이 좋고 가격이 저렴하기 때문에 산업의 많은 분야에 이용할 수 있지만 양극산화를 진행할 시 합금의 주요 구성성분인 실리콘(Si)으로 인해 균열(Crack)이 생기는 문제가 발생하여 이에 따라 균일한 산화막이 생성되지 않다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이 단점을 극복하기 위해 양극산화를 진행할 때 금속 음이온 성분이 첨가된 전해질을 이용하면 실리콘이 떨어져 나간 부분을 자가치료(Self-healing)할 수 있어 피막의 경도를 포함한 각종 특성이 증가하는 결과를 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 ADC12를 양극산화할 때 황산 수용액을 기본 전해질로 하여 전해질에 타이타늄(Ti), 마그네슘(Mg), 몰리브덴(Mo)이 포함되어 있는 금속 음이온 물질을 첨가하였고, 금속 음이온 전해질의 농도와 양극산화 진행 시간을 변수로 하여 제조한 산화막의 전기화학적 특성을 SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope), Tafel plot, 그리고 Microvickers hardness tester를 통해 평가하였다.

Fertility and Rate of Fertilizer Application for Orchard Soils of Apple and Pear (사과 및 배 과수토양(果樹土壤)의 비옥도구분(肥沃度區分)에 의한 시비기준(施肥基準) 설정(設定))

  • This study was made to evaluate the chemical properties of 481 farmers' orchard fields in An-Seong area. And the reasonable ferilizer rates were recommended utilizing the result of soil analysis. The results are summarized as follows : 1. As the soil fertility status of collected soil samples were evaluated on the basis of temporary optimal range for each soil chemical properties, 12.7 to 49.6% of the total 481 farmers' fields were range for soil improvement. 2. The contents of chemical component have a tendancy to decrease with depth gradually from surface to subsoil. 3. According to the relationship between the contents of soil component in subsoil and those in surface soil, the fertility condition of subsoil could be estimated on the basis of analysis data of surface soil. 4. The multiple regression equation for pear yield prediction to the organic matter and exchangable calcium contents in the soil were obtained. 5. Referring the average value, distribution ratio compared to the optimum level for each soil chemical properties and standard fertilizer rate, the soil fertility status could be categorized as "High" "Medium" and "Low". For each category, the recommended amounts for NPK and organic matter application were established. 6. The recommended rates through soul fertility diagnosis were less than farmer's dosage in the range 7.1~7.7 kg/10a for N, 0.8~11.5 kg/10a for $P_2O_5$, 7.1~19.9 kg/10a for $K_2O$ and 90~116 kg/10a for lime.

  • 식품의 건조는 저장성을 향상시키고 수송을 간편하게 하나 특별한 경우는 건조과정에서 일어나는 성분변화에 의해 풍미, 색깔, 조직 등이 향성되게 하는 경우도 있다. 그러나 일반적으로 건조에 의해 풍미의 저하, 색깔의 퇴조, 영양성분의 손실 및 조직과 형태의 손상 등 품질을 저하시키므로 가능한 저온에서 단시간에 수분을 제거해야 한다. 건조식품의 저장성은 수분활성도, 제품의 종류, 저장온도등 다양한 요인들에 영향을 받으며, 특히 수분 활성도에 따라 비효소 갈색화 반응, 지방의 산패, 미생물의 발생정도가 달라진다. 따라서 건조식품 저장시 변질을 방지하기 위해서는 식품의 수분함량을 측정할 수 있는 등온흡습곡선을 작성하는 것이 중요하다. 또한 식품의 단분자층 수분함량을 결정하고, 흡습에 필요한 에너지를 구함으로서 건조식품의 저장조건 및 포장조건의 선택시 유용한 자료가 된다. 특히 식품분말의 흡습특성은 분말입자의 크기, 형태, 화학성분 등과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 위의 사실로 미루어 볼 때 본 연구에서는 시판 유통되고 있는 두부를 진공동결 시킴으로써 위생화와 장기저장 가능성을 연구하면서 진공동결 건조 후 시료의 수분활성, 재수화 및 일반성분 변화를 검토하고자 한다.

Studies on agronomic characters of rice and soil textures in Akiochi paddy field (추락도(秋落稻)의 형태적(形態的) 특성(特性) 및 추락답토양(秋落畓土壤)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • In this experiment, Akiochi was studied especially on plant growth on the degraded soils. Besides, such soils were carefully examined on its character and plant body was analysed to know the difference in various mineral contents. For this purpose, paddy cultivation was done with the variety Pal Dal at Suwon, Sosa and Pyungtak. Three plots were chosen at each location as the normal and 2 levels of akiochi, a-the stronger and b-the weaker. Harvests from these 9 plots were measured agronomically and also chemically analysised. As for soil, after an observation on vertical section of soil, samples from each layer were also studied both physically and chemically. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Outer changes in rice plant and changes in yield components. 1) Rice from Akiochi soil showed remarkably shortened culm length, head length, protrusoion length, blade length of boot leaf, and coleoptile length, compared with that from the normal paddy field. 2) There was a tendency for Akiochi rice to have more heads per plant. 3) Akiochi rice showed poorer intercalary growth of upper 3 internodes. The ratio of this upper internode length to total culm length was also smaller in this case. Consquently the ratio of lower internode length to total culm length became larger than that from normal peddy field. 4) Akiochi rice showed significantly fewer first spikelets and attached grains of head at main stem. 5) Maturing rate of both this main seem of whole plant body was remarkably lower than that of normal rice. 6) Akiochi rice showed lower head weight of main stem, total hulled rice weight, total grain yield, 1000-grain weight, straw weight and straw-hulled rice ratio. 2. Physical and chemical study on soil. 1) Akiochi soil showed thinner upper layer and total thickness of upper and lower parts was smaller than that of normal. 2) Akiochi soil of Suwon was mainly composed of sand, while that of Sosa and Pyungtak was composed of heavy clay. 3) Chemical analysis indicated that content of $SiO_2$ in upper layer is always lower than that of normal. But no other common tendencies were found. 4) This analysis further lillustrates lower content of Fe, & Mn at Suwon ; of Mn at Sosa and higher content of Fe at Sosa and organic matters at Pyungtak. 5) Some differences in the content of N in each plot could be marked though irregular. 3. Chemical Composition of plant body. 1) Chemical analysis on grain, boot leaf and straw did not suggest any remarkable differences between normal and Akiochi rice, except that the latter contains less Si in boot leaf and less Mn in straw. 2) Contents of each chemical element were measured in grain and straw to calculate the percentage of element content in grain to that of whole plant body including both grain and straw. Here, Akiochi rice always showed lower value in N, K and Mn. 4. Relationship between chemical composition of plant body and that of soil. Akiochi soil at Sosa marked lower content of Mn. This caused another lower content of this element in grain, boot leaf and straw. But except that, no remarkable relationship could be found in this study.

Petrochemical Study of the Gadaeri Granite in Ulsan Area, Kyeongsang Province (경상남도 울산지역 가대리화강암에 대한 암석화학적 연구)

  • The Gadaeri granite near Ulsan mine is an oval-shape isolated granitic body, and is genetically related to the iron-tungsten mineralization. The Gadaeri granite exhibits calc-alkaline and I-type characteristics, and generally shows the micrographic texture which indicates the shallow depth of emplacement. Consideration of the stratigraphic thickness of Ulsan formation and minimum-melt compositions suggests that the bulk magma crystallized at pressure of 0.5~2.0 kbar under water saturated condition. The evolutionary trend observed in the studied rocks represents that feldspar fractional crystallization has been a major magmatic process at the Gadaeri granite pluton. Different chemical characteristics between the Gadaeri and the Masan-Kimhae granites cannot be explained by fractional crystallization or different degrees of partial melting, and it reflects that the magma source for Gadaeri granite was different from that of the Masan and Kimhae granites.
