여객선 안전귀항(SRtP)을 위한 시스템 평가에 대한 고찰

  • 대형 여객선은, "a ship is its own best lifeboat"라는 개념을 바탕으로 여객선의 안전성(survivability) 향상을 위한 설계가 요구되고 있으며, 이를 위하여, 사고가 발생하더라도 선박의 자체 추진력으로 안전하게 항구까지 귀항하여야 한다는, 여객선의 안전귀항(SRtP) 이라는 개념을 IMO SOLAS에 적용시켰다. SOLAS의 여객선 안전귀항 관련 조항은, 길이 120m 이상인 선박 또는 3개 이상의 주 수직격벽을 가진 선박으로서 2010년 07월 01일 이후 건조되는 여객선에 적용된다. 여객선 안전귀항 관련 조항은 화재와 침수사고에 적용되며, 사고분계점을 넘지 아니하는 사고가 발생할 경우 자체 추진력으로 여객선의 안전한 귀항을 위하여 사용 가능한 상태로 유지되어야 하는 시스템들에 대한 설계 기준, 사고분계점을 초과하는 화재 사고가 발생하였을 경우 질서 정연한 탈출 및 퇴선을 지원하기 위하여 작동상태의 유지가 요구되는 시스템 설계 기준, 사고분계점에 대한 정의, 사고 발생 후에도 여객 및 승무원의 건강을 유지 확보하기 위한 안전구역에 대한 기준들을 요구하고 있다. 본 연구에서는, 여객선 안전귀항 관련 법규들을 검토하고, 여객선 안전귀항을 위한 시스템들의 능력 평가 방법과 안전귀항 관련 조항 만족을 위한 시스템들의 요구사항들을 검토하였다.

  • 최근 실시간 상황 정보를 제공할 뿐만 아니라 상황 정보를 파악하여 필요한 행위를 제안하거나 수행하는 서비스가 필요하다. 특히 대중 시설에서 긴급한 상황이 발생할 경우 사람들에게 위험 상황을 알리거나 대처 행위를 위한 안내가 요구된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 고립된 다층 건물에서 화재 발생 시 최대한 빠른 탈출 경로를 제시하고 3차원 대피 유도 방안을 설계하고 구현한다. 이를 위하여 건물의 정보를 입력할 수 있는 건물 층 정보 입력 모듈, 건물 내부의 유도등, 비상구등을 표시하는 건물 노드입력 모듈, 이 노드 간 연결 정보를 생성하는 연결 정보 생성 모듈을 설계하고 구현한다. 제시한 3차원 대피 유도 방안으로 건물 어느 층에서나 현재 건물의 상태 정보를 알아내어 최종 탈출구로의 올바른 유도 경로를 표시 할 수 있다.

  • A panic device is a type of door lock that opens when pressed or pushed by the body, so it is an emergency escape device designed to easily open the door and escape in an emergency situation such as fire or earthquake. It is an ideal door handle for an emergency exit. Because many people move quickly and it is easy to use, it is common in Europe and North America, but in Korea, the product is expensive, so it is used on a limited basis in luxury buildings such as hotels, but its use is gradually increasing. East Asian countries such as Korea, China, and Japan mainly prefer the North American type. The design of the penic device used in is a uniform and universal design, and research and development of a new design of the penic device was required to develop a new design type product considering the aesthetics of the building.

Study Improvement of the Evacuation Performance in a Double-Skin Structure (이중외피 구조 건축물의 피난성능 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined an effective way of measuring the evacuation performance in buildings, which are applied to a double skin facade through an evaluation of the escape safety. Buildings with a double skin facade appeared to have a faster combustion expansion speed for the upper floor if a fire occurs. Moreover, a double skin facade is more difficult to escape safely than a general building construction because of the limited design standards. Accordingly, this study suggested virtual modeling including single emergency stairs and alarm systems considering the risk in each structure of buildings. These results showed that box-type double skin, corridor access type, shaft-box type, and multistory facade systems showed a 26.4%, 29.1%, 23.4%, and 26.3% increase in evacuation performance, respectively, as well as securing the safety of occupants.

  • Currently, fires caused by fine dust particles are attracting people's attention increasingly. Fine dust particles are $2.5{\mu}m$ (micrometer) in diameter which cannot be seen by the naked eyes could penetrate deeply into the lungs and cause health problems. Although people are aware of the precautions against fine dust particles, they do not take actions because they are less aware of the hazards that fine dust particles can do. This study aims to investigate the effects of artificial and natural causes of fine dust particles. In order to improve awareness of fine dust particle prevention, the <우마이() Escape> board game was developed and tests were carried out to 20 children to find out the educational effects of the board game.

Optimal Route Discovery System for Emergency Escape from Disaster Situations (재난 상황 시 탈출을 위한 최적 경로 탐색 시스템)

  • Enlargement and complexification of current structures increase the expected casualty in case of accident in those e.g., fire. In that case, there only have been basic instructions such as announcement of that situation, alarm bell, exit signs, etc. but any guidance to lead to proper escape route was not been provided so far. To tackle the problem, several schemes have been proposed. However, various risk factors were not considered and route discovery performance must be improved to be applied to structures. Therefore, this paper proposes an optimal route discovery system for emergency escape from disaster situations which takes into account various possible risk factors and enhances the searching efficiency by using the $A^{\ast}$ algorithm. Performance evaluation by computer simulation shows that the proposed scheme effectively leads to safe escape route.

Characterizing Human Behavior in Emergency Situations (비상상황에서의 인간 행동 특성화 연구)

  • Purpose: When a serious disaster occurred in East Japan on March 11, 2011, some evacuees in shock failed to avoid danger to the best of their ability. Why did they hesitate and waste their time? And why didn't they choose correct escaping routes? This study attempts to classify human behavior through psychological point of view and cognitive science and to interpret behavioral patterns based on animal behaviors from the field of biology. Method: This study first conceptually categorized walking behavior into intellectualization, automaticity and instinct based on the existing literature and matched these with empirical data. Result: The actual walking patterns observed failed to be compatible with these categories and consequently, this study suggests the following five categories: normal, busy, fast & straight, freezing and tizzy. This new classification of walking behavior is based on speed, variation of speed and change of direction. Conclusion: The method used in this study and the results can be applied to simulations of walking behavior and analysis of behavior in emergency situations.

Economic and Evacuation Time Analysis of Horizontally-installed Indoor Emergency Exit (하향식 피난구의 경제성 및 피난 소요시간 분석)

  • Evacuation facilities are installed so that people can evacuate high-rise apartment houses when it is impossible to escape fire through the front door. The households of apartment houses may escape the building in two ways, which will reduce loss of lives. This study examined the characteristics of two-way evacuation facilities, including a light-weight partition wall, shelter space at the balcony and horizontally-installed indoor emergency exit. Then, it proposed a horizontally-installed outdoor emergency exit that improved the problems of the examined facility types, and analyzed its economic-feasibility. When a horizontally-installed emergency exit instead of a traditional type to escape from fire is used, people may be more autonomous in deciding whether active evacuation is possible or not. Thus, the time required to evacuate the building with 4 different evacuation methods using the stairs and horizontally-installed emergency exit was simulated in consideration of the impact of evacuation methods that people choose on the time required for evacuation using pathfinder. Then, the simulation results were compared and analyzed. Any appropriate evacuation method to reduce the time required for evacuation was predicted, analyzed and decided. As a result of this study, it was analyzed that the high - rise apartment top - down type evacuation zone can shorten the total evacuation time compared to the staircase type.

Improvement of Flame-Retardant Performance of Polyurethane Foam Coated with Water Glass (물유리코팅에 따른 폴리우레탄 폼의 난연성능 개선에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, water glass was applied as a coating material to a rigid polyurethane foam to improve the flame-retardant properties of the foam. The heat release rate of the cone calorimeter of the urethane foam, in which the inorganic water-glass coating layer was applied, decreased rapidly. The water glass coated on the polyurethane surface formed a glassy foam by foaming with water, which did not escape during the vitrification reaction when the foam or glass was heated. The glassy foam formed on the polyurethane foam became a fire-resistant insulation layer that inhibited the combustion of the polyurethane foam for more than 10 min. Water glass was found to improve the flame-retardant properties of the rigid polyurethane foam.

  • According to 2015 ministry of public safety and security statistics, product of combustion makes the most victims while fire. for that reason, recent studies about combustion products have been researched actively in domestic and foreign papers. In domestic, study is handling the combustion product effects on human body and flame propagation. Foreign study is conduct about combustion product effects to shelter in offshore and toxic effects on human. because combustion product is toxic and disturb escape by block the view, many research conducted about optimize combustion product removal facilities using dispersion experiments and CFD simulations. In this study, this paper analysed research trend about toxic gas production model while combustion and its removal facilities, it will be the standard of combustion products research.
