Breeding of White Rose "Snow Day" with Resistance to Powdery Mildew (Sphaerotheca pannosa var. rosae) (흰가루병에 강한 흰색 장미 "Snow Day" 육성)

  • A new standard rose cultivar "Snow Day" was bred from the cross between pink standard cultivar "Saphia" and pink standard cultivar "Bridal Beauty" at the National Institute of Horticulture & Herbal Science. The cross was made in 2003 and "Snow Day" was finally selected in 2008 after evaluating characteristics for three years from 2006 to 2008. A white standard cultivar, "Snow Day" grows vigorously and resistant to powder mildew. The major characteristics of this cultivar are $152stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 81.8 cm in length of cut flower, 11.3 cm in flower diameter, 29.2 in petal number, and 13.7 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference for this cultivar is relatively higher than that for the control cultivar, "Tineke".

  • 기존의 89S51의 Flash Memory에 데이터를 저장하기 위해서 패러럴 포트를 사용하였다. 하지만 패러럴 포트를 이용한 방법은 많은 단점을 갖고 있는데, 그 중에 하나의 포트에 하나의 디바이스밖에 접속 할 수 없기 때문에 여러 디바이스를 접속하기 위해서는 포트 수를 증가시켜야 한다는 문제점이 있다. PC는 패러럴 포트를 1개 정도만 갖고 있어서 화장을 하기가 여의치 않다. 이에 따라 패러럴 포트의 단점을 보완하고자 한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하고 보완 할 수 있는 USB 통신을 이용해 Micro-Controller인 89S51에 내장된 Flash Memory에 데이터를 저장하려고 한다.

  • 경극은 중국의 전통극 중 하나이다. 경극의 영어 명칭은 'peking Opera'다. 경극의 "분장"은 희극에서 배우들이 얼굴에 하는 채색 화장을 가리킨다. 경극 배우들의 얼굴 분장을 '검보'라고 한다. 형태, 색채와 유형 면에서 특별한 양식을 갖춘다. 본 논문은 중국에 전하는 가면극의 외면적 표현 형태를 시각디자인 조형영역 분석을 통해 학문적 가치를 창출하는데 목적이 있다. 본 논문의 연구 영역은 경극의 유래, 색채, 형식적 측면에 대한 조형분석과 가면의 표현형식, 즉 표형기법, 색상구성, 형태구성, 역할특성 등의 구성형식을 조형적 분석 틀에 의해 분석하고자 한다. 가면 얼굴의 대표문양 분석을 통해 단순화 표현형식으로 작품을 만들어 연구하고자 한다. 분 논문의 의의는 중국 전통경극의 집중적 연구의 결과 추출을 통해 한국의 유사 전통탈춤과 비교하는 연구의 귀중한 자료로 예측되기에 본 연구를 진행하였다.

Psycho-Physiological Effects of the Aroma Cosmetics (아로마 화장품의 생리.심리적 효과)

  • 본 연구에서는 아로마 화장품의 생리ㆍ심리적 효과를 살펴보았다. 20-30대 건강한 성인 여자를 상으로 스트레스 부하 후 아로마 화장품 사용과 무사용의 두 조건에서 중추 신경계의 뇌파(EEG) 중 Alpha파의 주파수 변동리듬(l/f), 자율신경계(ECG, SKT, GSR) 및 주관적 기분감 평가(POMS) 를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 우전두부의 U파 변동리듬계수의 크기와 변동리듬 경사도를 이용한 쾌적도는 무사용에 비해 아로마 화장품 사용에서 시간이 경과됨에 따라 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05). SKT에서는 조건간 유의차는 나타나지 않았으나 GSR에서는 무사용에 비해 아로마 화장풍 사용 후 유의하게 감소하였다(p<0.1). 주관적 기분감 평가(POMS)에서는 무사용에 비해 아로마 화장품 사용 후 성냄, 혼란 항목의 득점이 유의하게 감소하였다(p<0.1). 이상의 결과로부터 스트레스 부하 후 사용한 아로마 화장품의 스트레스 해소 경향 즉 Relax, 진정 효과가 확인되었다.

Impacts of Depression, Somatization, and Jaw Disability on Graded Chronic Pain in TMD Patients (우울, 신체화, 턱기능장애가 측두하악장애 환자의 만성통증척도에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of depression, somatization, and jaw disability on graded chronic pain of TMD using Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (RDC/TMD). Ninety-three patients (17 men and 76 women, mean$\pm$SD age of 30.1$\pm$12.5 years) diagnosed with TMD based on RDC/TMD axis I criteria were administered RDC/TMD axis II history questionnaire. The relationships between depression, somatization, jaw disability, and each parameters of graded chronic pain (e.g. pain intensity, pain days, disability score, disability days, graded chronic pain scale) were analyzed by multiple regression analysis. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Among 93 TMD patients, the prevalence of low disability group of graded chronic pain scale was 42.0% and high disability group of graded chronic pain scale was 51.5%. 2. Depression did not show any significant influences on pain intensity, pain days, disability score, disability days, and graded chronic pain scale. 3. Somatization showed a significant effect on pain intensity (p<0.01), disability days (p<0.01), and graded chronic pain scale (p<0.01) except for both pain days and disability score. 4. Jaw disability also showed a significant effect on pain intensity (P<0.001), disability days (p<0.01), and graded chronic pain scale (P<0.001) except for both pain days and disability score. Somatization and jaw disability may closely relate to the pain intensity and degree of disability that TMD patients perceive. Therefore, comprehensive understanding of psychological profile and improvement of functional limitation of jaw movements in the patient should be considered to obtain an excellent outcome of chronic TMD management.

Studies on Microflora of the Paddy and Upland Soils of Korea -I. Distribution of Microflora of the Paddy Soils (우리나라 논, 밭토양의 미생물상(微生物相)에 한 연구 -I. 논토양의 미생물(微生物) 분포조사(分布調査))

  • Sixty paddy soil samples were collected from the different Korean agricultural climatic area to find relationship between soil physicochemical properties and soil microorganisms. The results are summarized as follows : 1. The mean numbers of microorganisms in collected paddy soils were $121.8{\times}10^5$ in bacteria (B), $22.5{\times}10^5$ in actinomycetes (A) and $32.4{\times}10^3$ in fungi (F) per gr soil. The ratios of B/F, B/A, and A/F were 385, 5.1 and 82, respectively. 2. Number of soil microorganism was lowest in Mountainous area, lower in Eastern Coast, Gyeonggi Bay and Chungcheong Continental area, but higher in Honam Plain and Southern Part. 3. The significant positive correlation were obtained between the number of microorganisms and soil chemical properties, available phosphorous, $K^+$, $Mg^{++}$, T-C and soil pH. 4. The number of soil microorganism was in the order of Clay loamy soil > Clayey soil > Loamy soil > Sandy loamy soil.

Suitable Conditions of Producing the LVL from Pitch Pine and its Paint Film Durability (리기다소나무 단판적층재(單板積層材)의 제조조건(製造條件)에 따른 물리적성질(物理的性質) 및 도장성능(塗裝性能))

  • This study was carried out to investigate the physical and mechanical properties. durability of adhesive bond and paint film for the basic data which were required to determine the suitability as a raw material for furniture the laminated veneer lumber (LVL) with pitch pine (Pinus rigida Mill). The results obtained were as follows; 1) The proper pressing time for making the LVL was over 45 second per milimeter of LVL thickness. 2) The bending strength of the LVL was lower than that of the solid wood but the compressive strength of the LVL was similar to that of the solid wood. The strength increased with the decrease of veneer thickness. 3) The impact bending absorbed energy of the LVL was 0 to 0.3 kg.m/$cm^2$ in the direction of parallel to the grain. The energy of the LVL was lower than that of the solid wood (0.68 kg.m/$cm^2$). 4) In warm water soaking and cold-dry tests, delamination of adhered layers surface crack, swelling, and color change were not found when the hot pressing time was over 45 second per milimeter of LVL thickness. As a result of soak under vacuum test shrinkage in the direction of parallel to the grain was about -1.0 percent and. was about 3.0 percent in the direction of the perpendicular to the grain. 6) The film cacks on the LVL's surface after the wet and cold-dry test were not found at all. 7) In the use of the LVL for interior decoration it was considered that the surface of the LVL be overlaid crossly with fancy veneers of birch and paulownia, etc. This cross overlayirg methods have resulted in few cracks on the fancy veneer.

Effects of Circulating Coolant in High Temperature Season and warm Water in Low Temperature Season by Controlling Soil Temperature on the Growth and Flower Quality in Alstroemeria (하절기 및 동절기 근권부 온도조절이 알스트로메리아 절화 생육 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • Rising soil temperature was effectively controled by shading net of 50% and cooled water to maintain average $18.8^{\circ}C$ (maximum $23^{\circ}C$), then shading net of 50% and ground water to maintain average $23.2^{\circ}C$ (max. $28.5^{\circ}C$), shading paint of 30% and shading net (50%) to maintain average $24^{\circ}C$ (max. $30^{\circ}C$) in that order. Alstroemeria 'Modena' most affected by shading and cooling water was better in shoot length as 95.9 cm and fresh weight as 67 g than those of other treatments. The production of cut flower was increased more 121% with treatment 50% shading net and cooling water, 59% with 50% shading net and ground water, and 65% with 30% shading paint than that of 50% shading net, respectively. Soil temperature was higher $8^{\circ}C$ with the plot of circulating warm water than untreated control plot. Alstroemeria 'Aspen', 'Modena', and 'Chanel' increased more plant growth such as plant height, fresh weight in warm water than in untreated control plot, but Alstroemeria 'Bordeaux' decreased plant height. Because of increasing plant growth, flower quality such as peduncle length, peduncle diameter, floret number and flower weight of 4 all cultivar was better in the plot of circulating warm water than untreated control plot. Also, the production of cut flower was increased the most in Alstroemeria 'Modena' by 38%, 'Aspen', 'Bordeaux', and 'Chanel' in that order.

Breeding for Spray Carnation 'Lepus' of White Color with Red Edge (적색 피크변의 백색계 스프레이 카네이션 '레퍼스' 육성)

  • A new spray carnation 'Lepus' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science in 2004. This hybrid was crossed between 'Diamond' and '99257-7 Line' in 2000. The 269 seedling plants were, planted and cultivated in green house. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2001 to 2004), it was finally selected in 2004. 'Lepus' white color with red peak edge is spray type and strong flower stalks. Also, it has medium fragrance, many flowers, and attractive flower arrangement. In particular, flowering was 10 days early and flower stalk was 13cm longer than 'Diamond' (control). In addition, it has medium resistance of Fusarium and the vase life was similar to 'Diamond'.

공주시 유구읍 명곡리지역 천부 및 심부지하수의 지화학적 수질특성과 오염

  • 농촌지역인 공주시 유구읍 명곡리 지역의 천부지하수와 먹는 샘물 공장의 취수정 심부 지하수을 대상으로 지화학적 특성을 밝히고, 물-암석 상호반응과 오염물질 유입에 대해서 토의하였다. 천부 지하수의 화학적 유형은 Ca-HCO$_3$형에서 Ca-Cl(SO$_4$)형으로 전반적으로 약산성화 되어있고, $K^{+}$, Cl$^{-}$, NO$_3$$^{-}$오염이 상당히 진행되어 70 %이상이 음용수로 불가능한 상태이다. 군집방법에 의하면 신선한 물과 오염된 물사이에 뚜렷한 경향의 차이를 보인다. 천부지하수의 주요 오염원은 각가정에 있는 재래식 화장식, 생활하수, 가축의 축사, 비료등으로 보인다. 심부지하수는 알카리성의 Na-HCO$_3$형에서 Na(Ca)-HCO$_3$형의 화학적 유형이며, 2 TU 이하의 삼중수소 함량으로 1950년대 이전에 함양된 비교적 오랜 물-암석 상호반을 거친 물로 판단된다. 반면 천부형 지하수는 1950년대 이후에 충전된 상당히 젊은 연령의 지하수로 보인다. $^{18}$ O/$^{16}$ O, D/H 환경동위원소 조성값으로 볼 때 심부지하수의 함양지역은 고도의 효과를 보인다. 이 연구결과는 농촌지역의 지하수 수질 오염에 대한 하나의 사례연구로 향후 전국을 대상으로 한 농어촌지역의 지하수 오염연구에 기본방향을 제시하는데 의의 가 있을 것이다.
