  • The purpose of this study is to identify priority factors for improving service quality of cosmetic stores in drug stores(DRS) and department stores(DES) and to provide basic data for improving service quality of cosmetic stores by analyzing the service quality based on the Kano model and the Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement (PCSI) Index. As a result, most items of quality factors of cosmetic stores in both stores were evaluated as attractive quality factors. As a result of PCSI Index comparison, the quality factors of 'Reliability', 'Responsiveness', and 'Empathy' items for DRS and 'Empathy' and 'Reliability' items for DES had higher priority for improvement. That is, if these factors are improved, there is a high potential to improve customer satisfaction. Through this study, practical implications were provided by identifying service quality factor classification and priorities for customer satisfaction improvement of DRS and DES. This is expected to contribute to the guidelines for improving customer satisfaction in the future.

  • The author tried to verify the mediating effect of the variable, perceived behavioral control, in the relationship between the independent variables(cosmetics-related variables, consumer's preference, advice & inducement), and the dependent variable(purchasing behavior), through AMOS structural equation modeling. As a result of analyzing the mediating effect in the impact relationship between latent variables, it was found that PBC(perceived behavior control) plays a mediating role in the impact relationship between CQ(cosmetics quality) and PB(purchasing behavior). Author found that the higher the quality of cosmetics and the greater the perceived behavior control in domestic cosmetics purchasing behavior, the more likely it will lead to purchasing behavior. In this context, while efforts are being made to improve cosmetic quality, measures to increase perceived behavior control, which can be said to be autonomy in purchasing behavior, should be sought.

To this end, a total of 190 questionnaires were collected and the main results of frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis using the statistical package SPSS 26.0 are summarized as follows. First, it was found that usefulness, ease, and playfulness, which are components of service quality in unmanned cosmetics stores, had a significant effect on the intention to visit. Second, familiarity was also found to have a significant effect on visit intention, and was found to have the greatest influence on visit intention. Third, as a result of examining the moderating effect of familiarity on the relationship between service quality and visit intention of unmanned cosmetics stores, usefulness, ease, and playfulness were all statistically insignificant, indicating that there was no moderating effect of familiarity. As a result of the above, in order to increase the familiarity, which has the greatest influence on the intention to visit, marketing should be presented emphasizing the promotion or advertisement of unmanned cosmetics stores.
