Characteristics of Oxygen-Enhanced Flame in Swirl Burner (선회연소기를 이용한 산소부화연소화염의 연소 특성 연구)

  • The emission characteristics, flame stability, the composition of the flame zone and temperature profile were studied experimentally. The compositions of oxydant were varied by substituting $N_2$ with $CO_2$ at the constant $O_2$ concentration. Results showed that flame became unstable due to the high heat capacity, low transport rate and strong radiation effect of $CO_2$ in comparison with those of $N_2$. The reaction zone was cooled, broadened, as the conversion ratio of $CO_2$ to $N_2$ was increased. Temperature has a large effect on the NOx emission. The concentration of NOx in flue gas decreased due to the decreased temperature of reaction zone. It was also shown that the reaction was delayed by the cooling effect. As the conversion ratio of $CO_2$ to $N_2$ was increased, the emission of CO and the higher temperature zone increased due to the decrease of reaction rate by the cooling effect.

  • A numerical analysis is performed to analyze the reacting flow-field of an axisymetric coaxial ramjet combustor. Two dimensional Navier-Stokes equation with low Reynolds number $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model is utilized and finite-rate chemistry model is adopted. Eddy dissipation model is applied for a modeling of turbulent combustion. Two different types of combustors (combustor with a suddenly expanded dump and combustor with wedge-shaped flame holders) are compared in a view point of flame stabilizing.

  • 지하구에는 국 가의 신경이라 할 수 있 는 전력, 통신, 상수도 등 주요시설물들이 수용되어 있으며, 지 하구는 화재, 집중호우에 의한 침수, 외부침입 등의 재난에 항상노출되어 있다. 2006년 12월에 발생된 구리 전력구 화재와 2000년 여의도 공동구 화재 등에서 보듯이 화재가 발생하면 화염과 연기, 유독가스로 인해 내부로 진입할 수 없으므로 조기경보 및 조기 대처가 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 지하구 중에서 통신케이블을 수용하는 통신구의 재난에 조기 대처할 수 있는 통신구 원격감시 시스템에 대해 기술하고자 한다. 통신구 원격감시 시스템은 통신구내의 침입, 침수, 화재 등을 모니터링하여 재난을 미연에 방지할 수 있도록 하고, 각 감지기 및 장치에 설정된 임계치를 초과한 경우 경보 현황을 운용자에게 알려 신속하게 조치할 수 있도록 하였으며, 시스템의 안정성과 확장성, 유지보수의 용이성 등을 고려하여 통합/분산 서버, 데이터 수집장치, 감지기 등 으로 구성 하였고, 시스템간의 연동과 호환성을 위해 표준화된 통신 프로토콜을 사용하였으며, 필요에 따라 감지기 및 장치를 수정, 추가할 수 있도록 개발하였다. 그리고 이를 검증하기 위해 부산지역의 지하철병행통신구 3.8km에 대해 시범설치하여 운용함으로써 시스템의 안정성, 운용성 등에 대해 검증하였다.

  • To optimize and limit the axial length of baffle in KSR-III engine, stability rating tests using pulse gun as one of artificial disturbance devices have been done. Decay time and other parameters for the evaluation of stabilization ability of engine to external perturbation have been analyzed to quantify stabilization capacity of engine, in other words, dynamic stability margin. If baffle does not cover flame zone enough which can be considered as collision region of injector, it wasn't be able to suppress external perturbation sufficiently. The limit of combustion stability margin of engine is assumed to be 50 mm length baffle.

  • 액체로켓엔진에 있어서 연소실로 공급된 추진제의 안정적인 점화를 위해 추진제 공급의 선점 시간을 결정하기 위한 실험이 수행되었다. 사용된 추진제는 Jet A-1과 액체 산소이고 추진제의 공급은 가압 방식이다. 135$^{\circ}$의 각을 갖고 배열된 인젝터는 FOOF 타입의 비동류형 충돌형 인젝터이고 연소실 압력이 200psi가 되도록 설계되었다. 현재의 실험은 점화원으로서 TEAL(triethylaluminum)을 사용하여 쿼드렛 타입의 점화기의 안정적 점화 여부를 검증하는 것도 포함된다. 점화 특성 파악을 위해 인젝터 상류의 매니폴드 압력, 연소실 압력이 측정되었고 점화 과정 및 정상 상태로의 천이 과정에 대한 간접적 증거로서 화염 길이가 측정되었다.

  • A pyrotechnic igniter with a relatively simple configuration was developed to secure the stable and reliable ignition of the gas generator in space launch vehicles. It was designed not only to provide a sufficient heat flux for the propellant ignition but also to ensure a structural safety under the conditions of very high temperatures and pressures. The burning tests of the igniters have been performed to decide several design parameters, and consequently the performance tests have proved that the pyrotechnic igniter developed in this study meets the design requirements.

Linear Stability Analysis in a Gas Turbine Combustor Using Thermoacoustic Models (열음향 해석 모델을 통한 가스터빈 연소기에서의 선형 안정성 분석)

  • In this study, thermoacoustic analysis model was developed in order to predict both eigenfrequencies and initial growth rate of combustion instabilities for lean premixed gas turbine combustors. As a first step, a model combustor and nozzle were selected and analytical linear equations for thermoacoustic waves were derived for a given combustion system. Then, methods showing how the equations can be used for analysis of the combustion instability were suggested. It was found that the prediction results showed a good agreement with the measurements. However, there were some limitation in growth rate predictions, which were related with over-simplification of flame structure, acoustic boundary conditions, and temperature distribution in the combustor.

  • After burner which is main part of inert gas generator(IGG) is studied for the development of IGG. The results of many experimental equations are applied to estimate characteristics of the spray nozzle and evaporation of spray, and selected the optimum design point of after burner. The selected design point of after burner are validated experimentally through the pilot plant of after burner. The flame stability is favorable at design point(150mm), that distance from stabilizer to nozzle. The emission of $NO_x$ and CO is lower than gas turbine combustor which was used in primary combustor.

  • This study is the performance test of the vitiated air heater with high temperature and high pressure. The vitiated air heater to provide hot air about 2000 K was designed, and the performance test is carrying out. The designed vitiated air heater uses methane, oxygen, and mixing air by working gases, and uses mixing air for cooling of the bottom of a mixing head. By this reason, the vitiated ar heater has to be designed with heat-resistance from hot frame, and to be tested for its proof. In this paper the performance of he vitiated air heater is analyzed to some test results.

Preliminary Study of a Turbopump Pyro Starter (터보펌프 파이로 시동기 기초연구)

  • The feasibility study into the development of turbine spinners, which start up the turbo-pump, has been carried out and the design requirements and parameters ranges have been presented. Turbine spinners use the solid propellant as such composite propellant based AN compound with high energy plasticizers, coolants, and phase stabilizer which relieves a sensible volume change due to the phase transformation of AN near room temperature. Propellants which have a homing rate of $0.2{\sim}0.3\;mm/s$ and pressure exponent ranged from 0.3 to 0.6, showed stable burn-out in the standard motor tests. Both the magnitude of ignition energy and its thermal transfer mechanism have been proved to have a tangible effect on the ignition of the pyre starter, and the results of this study showed that a flame temperature of 1400K would be quite adequate to get a stable ignition for the AN composite propellant.
