FORMATION OF BASEMENT MEMBRANE AND STRATIFICATION OF RABBIT ORAL KERATINOCYTES CULTURED ON HUMAN ACELLULAR DERMAL MATRIX (인간 무세포성 진피기질 위에 배양한 가토 구강각화상피세포의 중충화와 기저막 형성에 관한 연구)

  • To assess the clinical applicability of bio-artificial mucosa which was made with autologous oral keratinocytes and human acellular dermal matrix, the formation of basement membrane and stratification of oral keratinocytes were evaluated. Six New Zealand white rabbits (around 2kg in weight) were anesthetized and its buccal mucosa was harvested (1.0 $\times$ 0.5cm size). Oral keratinicytes were extracted and cultured primarily with the feeder layer of pretreated NIH J2 3T3 fibroblast. These confluent cells were innoculated on the human acellular dermal matrix and cultured in multiple layer by air-rafting method. After 3, 5, 7, 10, 14 days of culture, each cultured bio-artificial mucosa was investigated the number of epthelial layer of by H&E stain and toluidine blue stain. The immuhohistochemical methods were used to evaluate the cell division capacity, the formation of basement membrane, and it's property of specific cells (PCNA, cytokeratin 14, laminin). Transmission electromicroscopy was used for the attachment between cells and matrix with the number of hemidesmosome. In result, the numbers of layer of stratified growth of oral keratinocyte cultured on the human acellular dermal matrix and the number of hemidesomal attachment between epithelial cells and human acellular dermal matrix were similar to the layers of normal oral mucosa after 10 days of culture. The cell division rate, basement membrane formation and proliferation rate increased as culture period increased. With these results, bio-artificial mucosa with autologous oral epithelial cells cultured on the acellular dermal matrix had clinically adaptable properties after 10 days' culture and this new bio-artificial mucosa model with relatively short culture time can be expected clinical applicability.

  • In this paper, we propose the development of high resolution $360^{\circ}$ omnidirectional IP camera with 12 million pixels. The proposed 12-megapixel high-resolution $360^{\circ}$ omnidirectional IP camera consists of a lens unit with $360^{\circ}$ omnidirectional viewing angle and a 12-megapixel high-resolution IP camera unit. The lens section of $360^{\circ}$ omnidirectional viewing angle adopts the isochronous lens design method and the catadioptric facet production method to obtain the image without peripheral distortion which is inevitably generated in the fisheye lens. The 12 megapixel high-resolution IP camera unit consists of a CMOS sensor & ISP unit, a DSP unit, and an I / O unit, and converts the image input to the camera into a digital image to perform image distortion correction, image correction and image compression And then transmits it to the NVR (Network Video Recorder). In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed 12-megapixel high-resolution $360^{\circ}$ omnidirectional IP camera, 12.3 million pixel image efficiency, $360^{\circ}$ omnidirectional lens angle of view, and electromagnetic certification standard were measured.

  • Coccidioidomycosis is caused by a dimorphous fungus, Coccidioides, which consists of two species, C. immitis and C. posadasii. Although these organisms are genetically distinct and do not exchange DNA, they appear identical phenotypically and the disease or immune response to the organisms is also identical. Coccidioides grows as a mycelium in the soil and is mainly found in Southwestern United States, northwestern Mexico, and Argentina. An infection usually results from inhaling the spores of the fungus in an endemic area. Patients with a localized infection and no risk factors for complications often require only a periodic reassessment to demonstrate the resolution of the self-limited process. However, patients with extensive spread of infection or high risk of complications as a result of immunosuppression or other preexisting factors require a variety of treatment strategies such as antifungal therapy, surgical debridement, or both. Korea is not endemic area of a coccidioidomycosis. We report a case of disseminated coccidioidomycosis involving the lung and skin, which was detected incidentally after sunburn in a 69 year-old Korean male with diabetes mellitus and iatrogenic Cushings syndrome, with a review of the relevant literature.

EXPERIMENTAL RECONSTRUCTION OF LARYNX WITH STERNOMASTOID MYOPERIOSTEAL FLAP (흉유돌근골막 피판을 이용한 후두 재건)

  • 후두암의 수직절제 수술후의 후두 재건 목적은 기관절개를 통하지 않고 후두를 통한 호흡이 가능하도록 하면서 연하시 기도흡인을 피하기 위한 sphincter 능력의 보존, 그리고 발성이 가능하도록 성대진동 mechanism을 재건하는데 있다. 오늘날 수많은 후두학자들에 의해서 고안 개발된 다양한 재건 방법이 있다. 연자는 광범위한 후두절제에 따른 큰 결손을 메우기 위해 bulky하면서도 점막 상피의 재생이 용이한 재건 피판으로 흉유돌근골막 피판을 이용하여 후두 결손부를 재건하여 보았다. 방법은 성견 3마리를 대상으로하여 thiopental sodium 정맥주사로 전신마취를 시행한 후 설골에서부터 흉골상까지 경부 정중앙의 피부를 절개하고 후두를 노출시켜 후두 수직절제술을 시행하였다. 흉유돌근과 흉골에 부착된 골막을 박리하여 흥유돌근골막 피판을 제작한 후 골막이 후두강 안쪽으로 되도록하여 골막연과 후두점막을 봉합하였다. 그리고 3, 5, 9개월에 후두적출술을 시행하여 병리조직학적 및 수술후 경과를 관찰하였다. 3실험견 모두 기관절개술 없이 후두를 통한 호흡이 가능하였고 흡입성 폐렴이나 피하기종등의 합병증없이 창상이 치유되었으며 발성도 양호하였다. 이식된 골막위로 신생혈관의 출현과 함께 점막재생이 잘되 있었다. 단지 봉합사 주위에 소량의 육아종이 관찰되었다. 조직학적으로는 섬유조직위로 편평상피가 재생되었으며 성문하부에서는 일부 섬모가 있는 호흡기 점막도 관찰되고 골막하부에 신생골 형성은 관찰할 수 없었다. 골막 피판은 그 유연성 때문에 결손부위의 점막연에 맞춰도 tension이 없고 공기 누출이 되지 않게 봉합이 가능할 뿐 아니라 점막이 재생할 수 있는 frame-work의 역할을 하는 것으로 사료되었다. 이상과 같은 사실로 미루어 흉유돌근 자체가 견실하고 골막에 혈류공급이 잘되어 창상치유에 좋을 뿐 아니라 큰 후두결손부의 재건이 가능하리라고 사료되었다.로서 몇가지 앞으로의 치료지침에 도움이 되는 결과를 얻었기에 보고하는 바이다. 1) 성별 분포는 남자 16(39 %), 여자 25 (61%)이었으며 1 : 1.5의 빈도를 보였다. 2) 연령 분포는 20대와 30대에서 남녀 모두 25명으로 대부분을 차지하였다. 3) 부식제의 종류는 빙초산이 26명 (63.4 %)으로 대부분을 차지하였고 염산 7 (17.1 %) Lye 3 (0.7 %) 의 순이었다. 4) 음독후 12시간내에 식도경술을 받은 환자가 3명(0.7 %) 12-24시간에 받은 환자가 17명(41.5 %), 24 - 48시간에 받은 환자가 11명(26. 8%)으로 48시간 내에 시행받은 환자가 전체의 75.6%를 차지하였다. 5) 식도경 검사상 나타난 식도화상은 Grade I 11명 (26.8%) G.ade II 18(43.9%) Grade III 7명(17.1%) 이었으며 Grade II 인 경우가 18명(43.9%)로 가장 많았으며 Grade I 11명(26.8 %), Grade III 7명 (17.1 %) Normal 5명 (12.2 %) 순이었다. 6) 조기 식도경 검사에서 41명중 oral cavity burn이 없었던 경우가 15명(36. 1 %) 이었으며, oral cavity burn이 있었던 26명중 5명(19 .2 %)에서 Esophageal burn이 없었다 특히 Esophageal burn의 Grade II, III 25명 중 9명(29.6 %)에서 oral cavity burn이 없었다. 7) 식도 부식중 환자의 치료 원칙으로 Grade I, II, III에서 항생제 및 보존적 치료를 하였으며 Grade I에선 oral feeding을 시켰고 Steroid는 경우에 따라 투여하였으며 Grade III에선 원칙적으로 사용치 않았다. 식도조영술은 Grade I II III에서 3주 후에 모두 시행하였다. 8) 3주 후 식도조영술을 실

Geochemistry, Isotope Properties and U-Pb Sphene Age of the Jeongeup Foliated Granite, Korea (정읍엽리상화강암의 지구화학 및 동위원소 특성과 U-Pb 스핀 연대)

  • In this paper, we investigate the geochemical and isotope properties of the Jeongeup foliated granite (hereafter, the JFG) in the Jeongeup area, aiming at establishing the movement age of the Honam shear zone by U-Pb sphene geochronology. In the AMF diagram, the JFG corresponds to the calc alkalic rock series, and belongs to the magnesia region in the diagram of silica versus $FeO^{total}/(FeO^{total}+MgO)$. Additionally, in the Rb-Ba-Sr diagram, it is classified as granodiorite and anomalous granite with distinctive negative Eu-anomaly in the REE patterns. According to the silica and trace element contents, the JFG falls on the type VAG+syn-COLG, which implies that this was formed under the circumstance of compressional continental margin or volcanic arc. $^{143}Nd/^{144}Nd$ isotope ratios range from 0.511495 to 0.511783 and $T_{DM}$ are calculated to be about $1.68{\sim}2.36Ga$. U-Pb sphene ages of the JFG are $172.9{\pm}1.7Ma$ and $170.7{\pm}2.8Ma$, based on $^{238}U-^{206}Pb$ and $^{235}U-^{207}Pb$ ages, respectively. Presumably, the dextral ductile shearing in the Jeongeup area has occurred after 173 Ma.

Discrimination of Domestic Rice Cultivars by Capillary Electrophoresis (Capillary Electrophoresis를 이용한 국내산 쌀의 품종 판별)

  • Capillary electrophoresis (CE) with rice proteins was used to discriminate 10 domestic rice cultivars in less than 25 min. Most cultivars were differentiated quickly and easily using P-ACN buffer system. CE of rice prolamins allowed classifying ten varieties of Korean rice into three groups. Peak h was characteristic peak for Dongjinbyeo, Gaehwabyeo and Yongnambyeo which were classified into the group of Dongjinbyeo. Chuchungbyeo, Odaebyeo, Mangeumbyeo and Bonggwangbyeo easily differentiated from the group of Dongjinbyeo by the absence of peak h which were classified into the group of Chuchungbyeo. Peak g typical for Illpumbyeo, Hwaseungbyeo and Hwayoungbyeo accounted for 70% of total peak area. They belong to the group of Illpumbyeo. Some cultivars showed specific peak patterns among ten cultivars, Illpumbyeo was differentiated from others by several peaks between peak c and peak f, and the peak d was apparently detected in Odaebyeo not in others. Other minor differences were also found within each group. The result of the study showed that CE has potential for discrimination of rice cultivars. It also possesses the inherent advantages such as low mass requirements, fast seperations, and quantitative analysis through on-capillary UV detection.

  • When Radiofrequency energy is applied to the human body, the vibration width is very short. Therefore, the electrolyte burn generated when using the direct current does not occur. Ion molecules, polarized molecules, etc., vibrate more than 40,000 times per second, converting them into frictional heat to generate deep heat. The blood flow of capillaries increases 4-5 times more than at rest, increasing the supply of oxygen, nutrients, antibodies, and white blood cells. In addition, the electrochemical reaction does not occur because the vibration width and the pulsation period are very short. It is a physical factor treatment method that does not stimulate the sensory nerves and motor nerves. In this study, an isotonic exercise is performed in a young normal adult using a Radiofrequency pain treatment device. The purpose of this study is to integrate rehabilitation therapy by measuring electromyography data during isotonic exercise and confirming the effect on changes in motor neuron response. The EMG data generated when isotonic exercise of the forearm biceps muscle and the EMG data measured after the use of a Radiofrequency pain treatment device after exercise were RMS, respectively, and verified through t-test. It was confirmed that there was a significant difference in both men and women because the t-value was smaller than the significance level p (<.05).

A study on the lip shape recognition algorithm using 3-D Model (3차원 모델을 이용한 입모양 인식 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, research and developmental direction of communication system is concurrent adopting voice data and face image in speaking to provide more higher recognition rate then in the case of only voice data. Therefore, we present a method of lipreading in speech image sequence by using the 3-D facial shape model. The method use a feature information of the face image such as the opening-level of lip, the movement of jaw, and the projection height of lip. At first, we adjust the 3-D face model to speeching face image sequence. Then, to get a feature information we compute variance quantity from adjusted 3-D shape model of image sequence and use the variance quality of the adjusted 3-D model as recognition parameters. We use the intensity inclination values which obtaining from the variance in 3-D feature points as the separation of recognition units from the sequential image. After then, we use discrete HMM algorithm at recognition process, depending on multiple observation sequence which considers the variance of 3-D feature point fully. As a result of recognition experiment with the 8 Korean vowels and 2 Korean consonants, we have about 80% of recognition rate for the plosives and vowels. We propose that usability with visual distinguishing factor that using feature vector because as a result of recognition experiment for recognition parameter with the 10 korean vowels, obtaining high recognition rate.

  • In video conferencing system using H.263 encoding and decoding time is as important as compression rate is. To reduce encoding time, a number of methods were proposed. We use a method of them that reduces the computational complexity in motion estimation. The complexity is determined by three factors, such as a cost function, a search range parameter, and a motion search algorithm. In fact, it takes a lot of time to encode the video data on account of the cost function factor. That's the reason that we use the factor to reduce encoding time. In this paper, we tried to reduce total encoding time by reducing the number of calling the cost function. In case of a little moving, our algorithm enabled faster motion searching than TSS(Three Step Search) and NTSS(New TSS). Here, we called the algorithm by an ITSS(Improved TSS) that improves a shortcoming of NTSS requiring more checkpoints than TSS. For an experimentation, our algorithm was compared to other algorithms using PSNR, file size and SAD call times.

A Fairness Control Scheme in Multicast ATM Switches (멀티캐스트 ATM 스위치에서의 공정성 제어 방법)

  • We present an ATM switch architectures based on the multistage interconnection network(MIN) for the efficient multicast traffic control. Many of these applications require multicast connections as well as point-to-point connections. Muiticast connection in which the same message is delivered from a source to arbitrary number of destinations is fundamental in the areas such as teleconferencing, VOD(video on demand), distributed data processing, etc. In designing the multicast ATM switches to support those services, we should consider the fairness(impartiality) and priority control, in addition to the overflow problem, cell processing with large number of copies, and the blocking problem. In particular, the fairness problem which is to distribute the incoming cells to input ports smoothly is occurred when a cell with the large copy number enters upper input port. In this case, the upper input port sends before the lower input port because of the calculating method of running sum, and therefore cell arrived into lower input port Is delayed to next cycle to be sent and transmission delay time becomes longer. In this paper, we propose the cell splitting and group splitting algorithm, and also the fairness scheme on the basis of the nonblocking characteristics for issuing appropriate copy number depending on the number of Input cell in demand. We evaluate the performance of the proposed schemes in terms of the throughput, cell loss rate and cell delay.
