Design and Implementation on-line Real-time Video Communication Learning System(RVCLS) for Web-based Project Learning (웹기반 프로젝트 학습을 지원하는 실시간 화상학습시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we designed the on-line Real-time Video Communication Learning System(RVCLS) for Web-based project learning and develop programs for test groups. And we have also analyzed how the Web-based learning using RVCLS change the students' perception on the classroom environment, using the WIHIC which is the classroom environment examination tool As a result, the Web-based project learning activities using RVCLS had affirmative effects on the eight areas of classroom environment such as students unity, teacher support, participation in class, spontaneity, exploration activities, task-oriented mind, cooperative attitude, and equality. Also, the web -based project learning using RVCLS is expected to help students enhance the self-directed learning capacity and increase abilities to use ICT.

  • Currently, we are presenting an alternative educational environment for the normal student of education rules failure of the only that has been the school system student. The study for students with disabilities, it is designed especially to be able to use difficult disabilities the use of hand. Development objectives of the learning video e-learning system of persons with disabilities, is that to be able to capable of self-directed learning of disabled students. Configuration of e-running system, Web-based multimedia system, utilizing the system that will change the video conferencing system and voice to a character hearing impaired students through the chat system is 1:1 by communication, and teachers it is possible to perform two-way communication. A learning disability e-learning system developed in this paper between teachers and students with disabilities 1:1 training is conducted using a two-way communication algorithms.

  • Due to the development of information communication technology, educational environment has undergone much change and various types of teaching and learning methods based on information communication technology has been suggested. Recently, remote education using the internet are also spreading. However, in current classrooms, students are asked to do an teacher-centered assignment, which they are required to collect and report some information using the internet. This method does not help students use the advantages of learning using the internet, which stimulate students-students interaction and teacher-students interaction.Thus, this study focused on the problem-based learning system based on video communication technology. The researcher designed the problem-based learning system based on video communication technology and applied the system to classes at elementary school. The results were analyzed in terms of students-students interaction and teacher-students interaction in the internet. This research found that the problem-based learning system stimulates teacher and students communication and has positive effects on students' attitude and interest in learning. This research proposes that the traditional teacher-centered teaching method can be supplemented with cyber space learning, which has the merit of problem-based learning model.

  • 원격강의 방식은 일반 면대면 수업 방식과 비교할 때 교수자와 학습자의 실시간 질의응답이 잘 이루어지지 않는 점과 학습자의 흥미도와 집중도를 높이기 어려운 단점이 있다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위하여 일부 웹사이트에서는 메신저 등을 사용하기도 하지만, 키보드에 익숙하지 않은 학습자는 학습 도중에 키보드를 통해 질문을 하는데 많은 어려움을 겪을 수 있다. 그러나, 실시간 음성과 화상통신(H.323)과 SIP을 사용하면 교수자와 학습자간에 또는 학습자와 학습자들 간의 질의응답을 보다 편리하게 처리한 수 있고 공동체 활동을 활성화 할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we propose a virtual learning platform based on various interactions that occur during real class activities, rather than the existing content delivery-oriented learning metaverse platform. In this study, we provide a learning environment that combines AI and a virtual environment to solve problems by talking to real-time AI. Also, we applied G-learning techinques to improve class immersion. The Virtual Edu platform developed through this study provides an effective learning experience combining self-directed learning, simulation of interest through games, and PBL teaching method. And we propose a new educational method that improves student participation learning effectiveness. Experiment, we test performance on learninng activity based on real-time video classroom. As a result, it was found that the class progressing stably.

Recognition of Concrete Surface Cracks using ART1-based RBF Network (ART1 기반 RBF 네트워크를 이용한 콘크리트 균열 인식)

  • 본 논문에서는 콘크리트 표면 균열 영상에서 균열을 효율적으로 추출하기 위한 화상처리 기법과 ART1 기반 RBF 네트워크를 제안하여 균열의 방향성을 인식한다. 본 논문에서 사용된 화상처리 기법으로는 균열 영상의 빛을 보정하기 위한 모폴로지 기법인 채움(Closing)연산을 적용하고 Sobel 마스크를 적용하여 균열 영상의 에지를 추출한 후 반복 이진화를 적용하여 균열 영상을 이진화한다. 이진화 된 영상에 두 차례에 걸쳐 잡음제거를 수행하여 콘크리트 표면 균열 영상으로부터 균열을 추출한다. 본 논문에서는 추출된 균열을 ART1 기반 RBF 네트워크에 적용하여 균열의 방향성(횡방향, 종방향, $-45^{\circ}$방향, $45^{\circ}$방향)을 자동으로 인식할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 ART1 기반 RBF 네트워크는 입력층과 중간층으로의 학습은 ART1을 적용하고 중간층과 출력층 간의 학습은 Delta 학습 방법을 적용한다. 실제 콘크리트 균열 영상을 적용하여 실험한 결과, 콘크리트 표면 균열 영상에서 효율적으로 균열을 추출할 수 있었고 제안된 ART1 기반 RBF 네트워크가 추출된 균열의 방향성 인식에 효율적인 것을 확인하였다.

In this study, this I-CUBE system with RSS was designed and embodied for sharing characteristic educational activities and works in schools.   • In this paper, we propose a tracking and recognition of pedestrian/vehicle for intelligent multi-visual surveillance system. The intelligent multi-visual surveillance system consists of several fixed cameras and one calibrated PTZ camera, which automatically tracks and recognizes the detected moving objects. The fixed wide-angle cameras are used to monitor large open areas, but the moving objects on the images are too small to view in detail. But, the PTZ camera is capable of increasing the monitoring area and enhancing the image quality by tracking and zooming in on a target. The proposed system is able to determine whether the detected moving objects are pedestrian/vehicle or not using the SVM. In order to reduce the tracking error, an improved camera calibration algorithm between the fixed cameras and the PTZ camera is proposed. Various experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • Current distance loaming or cyber teaming offers learner the same level of contents regardless of learner's degree of understanding and the progress of learning also may be controlled by learner freely. In this paper we improve the several problems of distance teaming and cyber learning, and propose new real-time intelligent distance learning. First, we provide learners with the contents of lectures that are appropriate to learner's level. After that we analyze md judge the degree of understanding of learners, the results are informed to instructors for further uses. Due to the diagnosis result instructors know the frail part of learners and let them understand that, and highlight the efficiency of learning. Session with instructor and learner is performed with multimedia communication using Internet, and all the educational materials are shared by instructor and learner at the same time.

Sign Language Recognition Using ART2 Algorithm (ART2 알고리즘을 이용한 수화 인식)

  • People who have hearing difficulties use sign language as the most important communication method, and they can broaden personal relations and manage their everyday lives without inconvenience through sign language. But they suffer from absence of interpolation between normal people and people who have hearing difficulties in increasing video chatting or video communication services by recent growth of internet communication. In this paper, we proposed a sign language recognition method in order to solve such a problem. In the proposed method, regions of two hands are extracted by tracking of two hands using RGB, YUV and HSI color information from a sign language image acquired from a video camera and by removing noise in the segmented images. The extracted regions of two hands are teamed and recognized by ART2 algorithm that is robust for noise and damage. In the experiment by the proposed method and images of finger number from 1 to 10, we verified the proposed method recognize the numbers efficiently.
