  • This thesis is aiming at analysis and implementing Distance Video Lecturing System to guarantee the high quality in service through using less Network resource. Most of the usual Distance Video Lecturing System has been designed not in the system of Multiuser Conference but Point-to-Point. But from now on Distance Video Lecturing System is to be demanded on not only the expansion to Multiuser Distance Video Lecturing System, but high quality in service for users. To solve these problems, the Multicast Transmission Technology as the dimension of Network as well as highly efficient, advanced Compression Technology should be applied to Video Conference System in company with the expansion of Network bandwidth. The system suggested in this thesis is to help to offer an application service as Distance Video Lecturing System that will make popular on the basis of the character that the next generation Internet will be high speed Network.

  • In this paper, we present a result of our study on how to construct a HIMCS(hospital image management and communication system) based on Windows system. The proposed HIMCS is composed of image acquisition units, image archiving and processing units, display units, and all units are interfaced with LAN. We construct high speed image transmission system for distributed database and retrieval of various medical pictures in ward through image transmission system and realize integrated image diagnosis. Hospital image management and communication systems(HIMCS) have been proposed as a way to meet the challenge presented by the growing volume of medical imaging data. These systems are based on the concept of handing images in digital form, there by marking use of advances in computer-based technology. A HIMCS offers a wide spectrum of advantages over filmbased imaging. Digital acquisition of images eliminates the need for film processing and associated costs in both time and materials.

  • Video conference system has guided swiftness of information transmission and business processing taking away time and manufacturing drug of space that is happened that long-distance people gather and talk. But, leakage of important meeting contents, peculation etc.. in that execute video -conferences can happen. Therefore, research about video conference system of safety is progressing under secure superhigh speed information communication fetters. This treatise studied about techniques to encipher videotex to prevent variation and outward flow of burn information, peculation etc.. except general encryption notation such as user certification to have drawn problem about stability of general video conference system, and is used present as countermeasure about here. Used improved Vernam's encryption techniques to encrypt videotex.

  • A study on electronic imaging system with silver halide photography emulation by a parametric approach will be introduced. The study contains the comparison analysis between silver halide imaging process and electronic imaging process, the characterization of the detailed process in those imaging chains, such as exposure, developing, photographic print and the other photographic and digital process. We investigated the characteristic curve between optical density and the amount of exposure in silver halide and digital photography systems. Under wide range of exposure condition, several sensitometric parameters were obtained via studio and outdoor photographic experiments with conventional photography and a digital camera. whose experimental results will be shown. Finally, the comparison between electronic imaging and conventional photography via silver halide photography emulation and modeling the silver halide process wi13 be discussed.

  • 인터넷의 급속한 수요의 증대와 단말 시스템 성능의 향상은 네트웍 멀티미디어의 사용과 성능에 대한 관심을 증대시키고 있다. 결과적으로 고 대역폭의 네트웍과 고 수준의 시스템을 요구하는 멀티미디어 데이터를 이용한 응용개발이 가능하게 되었다. H.261과 같은 기존의 화상회의 시스템에서 사용되는 비디오 코덱은 상대적으로 낮은 대역폭의 네트웍에서의 사용을 목적으로 설계되었다. MPEG-2 비디오 데이터는 해상도, 대역폭, 및 유연성을 갖춘 고 수준의 비디오 데이터로서 VOD나 영상전송시스템과 같은 응용에서 사용되어질 비디오 데이터로서 많은 연구와 개발이 진행되어지고 있다. 이 논문에서는 KLIMEX(KAIST LIve MPEG-2 EXtenstion)를 구성 및 구현하여 MPEG-2 비디오 데이터를 실시간으로 처리할 수 있도록 하였고 화상회의 운용툴인 vic[\ulcorner]에 통합하여 MPEG-2 비디오 데이터의 전송과 수신이 가능하도록 시스템을 구성하였다. KLIMEX를 구성은 인코딩, 디코딩과 패킷타이징을 핵심모듈로 하고 있고, 각 모듈의 구현상에서 요구사항, 성능향상의 방안과 화상회의 운용툴과의 통합에 대해서 논의 및 분석을 제시한다. MPEG-2를 이용한 네트웍 응용의 다양한 연구는 여기서 제시하는 KLIMEX와 통합시스템 프로토타입을 이용하여 고성능 화상회의 시스템의 연구에 적용할 수 있다.

Analysis Effects for Cyber Group Consultation Using Video Based System (화상교육 시스템을 이용한 사이버 집단 상담의 효과 분석)

  • In this paper, we carry out a cyber group consultation by means of the video-based education system, and verify the effects. For the verification of this study, two assumptions were set up. These assumptions were inspected by selecting 45 students of D elementary school located in a big city, and coming up with a test utilizing one of video-based education systems. Following up, a self-respect test form and a questionnaire were made to verify of the group consultation to the video-based education system, and by analyzing the test form and the questionnaire, the conclusion of this study was finally drawn. The conclusion gained through the process adove is as follows: It turned out that real-time video-based cyber group consultation promoted self-respect and enthusiastic participation of consulters as well as formed emotinal stability and a close affinity between the consultant and the consulter through active interaction. The results of this video-based education system operation will be helpful to broaden the area of elementary school cyber group consultation. Further, it is thought that it will contribute to the basic investigation to verify the educational effects of Multi-point imaging system in the run-up to the operation of full-scale real-time video-based education systems.

  • Recently, the object-oriented design is the major paradigm for software development. Most systems are following this paradigm, but the past studies for a video conversation domain were not based on full-scale object-oriented design. Thus, this paper presents an systematical architecture design using UML for a video conversation system that is well-known and has high rate of usefulness. It analysis a video conversation system that has much demand of service as systematical functional/non-functional requirements, and the object-oriented design applying '4+1 View Model' guarantees the reusability of a component and makes it possible to extend a system by adding components as needed. Consequently, it is expected that the components of video conversation system designed by this paper will be useful the other video conversation systems and will be expanded to web environment.

  • 화상회의시스템이란 영상 및 멀티미디어를 활용하여 원격 회의를 가능하게 하는 정보전달 매체로 가격이 저렴해지면서 학교 현장에 보급되기 시작하였다. 이 시스템의 활용 범위가 확장되어 교육청과 학교간의 회의뿐만 아니라 실시간 원격연수에도 활용이 가능하게 되었다. 그러나 현장의 교사들은 화상회의 시스템에 대한 지식과 응용 프로그램의 사용 경험 부족으로 적극적인 활용에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 연구에서는 현재 학교에 널리 보급되어 있는 MCU방식과 최근 새롭게 개발된 IP 멀티캐스팅 방식의 원격교육 시스템에 대한 장단점을 비교하고 분석하여 교육 현장에 적합한 화상회의시스템에 대한 평가를 할 것이다. 그리고, 실시간 원격교육 프로그램을 위한 화면의 설계 결과와 화상회의 시스템과의 인터페이스 방법에 대한 설계 결과를 제시할 것이다.

A Videoconference System based on Agent Knowledge for Flexible QoS Control (유연한 QoS제어를 위한 에이전트 지식 기반 화상회의 시스템)

  • In this paper we propose an agent architecture to improve the flexibility of videoconference systems with strategic-INTER knowledge. The proposed architecture achieves more flexibility by selecting dynamically the strategy of QoS (Quality of Service). To select the strategies, the systems have to take into the consideration of the properties of problems occurred on QoS and the status of problem solving process. This architecture is introduced as a part of knowledge base of agent dealing with cooperation between software modules of videoconference systems. We have implemented the architecture and our prototype system shows its capability of flexible problem solving against the QoS degradation, along with other possible problems within the time limitation. We confirmed that the proposed architecture can improve its flexibility of a videoconference system compared to conventional systems.

Optimization of Image Merging Conditions for Lumber Scanning System (제재목 화상입력시스템의 최적 화상병합 조건 구명)

  • To use domestic softwood for structural lumber, appropriate grading system for quality, production and distribution condition of domestic lumber should be prepared. Kim et al. developed an automatic image processing system for grading domestic structural lumber (2009a and b). This study was carried out to investigate optimal image merging conditions for improving performance of image input system which is the key technique of image processing system, developed in the previous paper. To merge digital images of Korean larch lumber, choosing the green channel information of obtained image data showed the most accurate merging performance. As a pre-treatment process, applying Y-derivative Sharr's kernel filter could improve the image merging accuracy, but the effect of camera calibration was imperceptible. The optimal size of template image was verified as 30 pixel widths and 150 pixel heights. When applying the above mentioned conditions, the error length of images was 3.1 mm and the processing time was 9.7 seconds in average.
