This study examined the perceptions of and attitude towards mixed-race and investigated the factors affecting them and their influence on discriminative behavior. For the study, a survey was conducted with residents residing in Seoul and its suburb. The results showed that the perceptions of and attitudes towards mixed-race, generally, were not so negative and positive in all three types of mixed-race, Caucasian-korean, Asian-korean, and African-korean. In addition, the perceptions of and attitudes toward mixed-race were partly different by the type of mixed race. That is, there were more positive perceptions of and more favorable attitudes towards the Caucasian-korean in Asian-korean and African-korean, and there were less positive perceptions of and less favorable attitudes towards Asian-korean than in African-korean. With regard to the factors affecting the perceptions and attitudes, racism was a factor affecting commonly the perception of and attitudes towards all types of mixed-race. The attitudes towards mixed-race had an influence on the discriminative behavior in all types of mixed-race, and, only in the African-korean, the perception of mixed race affected the discriminative behavior. These results suggest insights for what efforts should be made to improve mixed-race's welfare.

In this paper, the transmission and the phases of the memories in the novels dealing with Vietnam War have been studied. As a research method, Aleida Assmann's memory theory which plays a role in culturoloy theory is utilized. This study shows firstly that the others' voices excluded from the official memories of Vietnam War have emerged. Vietnam War novels released after 1990s actively reflecting the others' voices transmitted fresh the cultural memories. As the stories of civilian massacre, defoliant victims, and children of mixed bloods, Lai Daihan excluded from the official memories have emerged as a main them in the Vietnam War novels, they have become resistant memories. Existence and Formality, a Vietnam War novel by Bang Hyeonsuk brings up how to remember Vietnam War. His another novel, Time to Eat Lobster shows that without the fundamental retrospect and introspection of Vietnam War, Korea can't help but have the identity of America. Secondly, this paper shows that the tragedy of Vietnam War remains as a trauma that human bodies remember. White War by Ahn Jeonghyo shows that the memory moves back to the past in the process of struggle. In the novel, Slow Bullet by Lee Daehwan the phases of demage from defoliants lead to the family's tragedy. The Red Ao Dai by O Hyeonmi shows how a Korean-Vietnamese overcomes negation of his father and win his identity. In A Sad Song in Saigon shows that a mixed blood, Sairang who suffered from the confusion of his identity and his story fell down to a romance novel because of the weakness of narrative.

지난 4월의 파리 에어쇼에서 헬리콥터와 비행기의 혼혈아 같은 틸트로터기가 매일 회장상공을 시위비행하여 많은 관중들의 주목을 끌었다. 이 낯선 틸트로터기는 단거리 이착륙 또는 수직이착륙기로 개발된 것이며 이미 40년의 역사를 지니고 있다. 그후 이 항공기의 여러가지 장점이 인정되며 V-22라는 제식명으로 미공군과 해군에서 채택해 대량생산을 목전에 두고 이번에는 민간용의 개발 판매를 위하여 XV-15라는 형식명으로 비행 실기를 선보이게 된 것이다. 틸트로터기의 과거, 현재, 미래를 살펴본다.

The primary concerns of this thesis simply stems from the curiosity of how the playwright Kim Jihoon lookouts a peculiar change of our spiritual, physical world. His lately work, , deals with a tribe of mixed blood who are either not shared by, or excluded from a national system, putting the writer's emphasis on some hints that informs us his outlook on the world. And these hints summon the following doubts. What is the significance of constituting a national community in this age, particularly in the time when the end of national people is frequently being referred? In strengthening national compositions, can the national identity be a pivotal element and central mechanism? Can the identity be able to exercise the hegemonic functions containing the political rights of decisions? Does the identity still dominate the various collective bodies such as genders, races, regions, professions, generations and classes etc? Finally, as the manifests, can the national identity be a desirable alternative that may cease both confusions and disorders evoked by the collision of heterogeneity? To find the answer, the study starts from a search for the origin of the complexities immanent in the mixed blood. The terror syndrome and the ambiguous identity, both residing outside the border of normality, will characterise the origin. Then I will focus both on the tribe's desperation itself and their present hope, in order. A myth of creating a country, making history and nationalism, all these are converged in their resistant ideology. This thesis ends with no clear conclusion, and yet suggesting the three presumptions the text insinuates: nomadism, a new barbarism, and the heterogeneity that awaits for our re-reading, and hoping that the three will lead the 'being-to-come' of the tribe, as an alternative of their future.

The Republic of Korea Army predicted that the continuous decline in fertility rate and the low birth rate, one of the biggest issues in our society, would lead to a security crisis due to a lack of military personnel, and revised the Military Service Act in 2010 to prevent enlistment of 'clearly mixed races', which had previously restricted enlistment. made it compulsory As a result, 50 children from multicultural families enlisted in the military in 2011, and the Military Manpower Administration at the time predicted that more than 8,000 people would enlist every year after 2020. This poses another challenge for the Army. A lack of understanding and respect for different languages, religions, and eating habits can lead to conflict among members, which will lead to weakening of combat power. Therefore, through a case study of multicultural application by world powers, the history of success and failure of respect for multiculturalism and the current policy of respecting multiculturalism of the U.S. Army are studied to examine the direction of our army.

유리알 같은 푸른 바다의 잔물결 아래로 형형색색의 물고기가 떼지어 다니고 산호초가 금방 잡힐 것 같이 아름다운 필리핀 루손섬 남부의 바탄가스 해안을 따라 코코넛과 바나나 나무가 울창한 비포장 해안도로를 1시간 이상 달려가면 필리핀 근세기에 길이 남을 만한 역사의 현장이 나타난다. 그 역사의 주인공인 일리한 프로젝트에 대해 소개한다. 필리핀은 7,109개의 섬으로 이루어진 섬나라이며 국토는 한반도의 약 1.3 배인 30만$km^2$, 인구는 약 7500만명(2000년 5월 기준)이며 말레이계와 중국계, 스페인 혼혈계가 대부분이다. 언어는 타갈로그어와 영어를 공용으로 사용하고 있으며 아열대성 기후에 연평균 기온은 약 27$^{\circ}C$인 무더운 나라이다. 필리핀의 전력사정은 1999년말 기준 전력설비 용량이 12,686MW로 우리 나라 전력설비 용량의 약 28$\%$에 해당하며 전력수요는 지속적으로 증가하는 추세에 있다.

증례 1. 전지에 발생한 혈관주위세포종 절제 후 피부이식술 본 증례는 11년생 수컷 혼혈 포메라니언 종으로 6살 되던 해 좌측 주관절의 외측부위와 전완부 사이의 연부조직에서 종괴물을 확인한 후 1년여 동안에 탁구공 크기로 커져 인근 병원에서 이 종괴물 제거 수술을 받은 적이 있었다. 그 후 2년 반이 지나면서 종괴물은 다시 서서히 자라기 시작하여 약 2년 동안에 테니스공 크기로 커져 제거 수술을 받기 위해 모대학 병원에서 혈액 검사 실시하던 중 심장 사상충 감염 진단을 받고 본 병원 내원 3 개월 전에 심장 사상충 치료를 받았던 기왕력이 있었다. 환견의 종괴물은 육안적 소견으로 2개의 분엽화 형상을 나타내었다. 그 중 일부에서 괴사소견이 관찰되었다. This study examines the ethnoscape of TV dramas on three Korean nationwide television channels from 2005 to 2012 by breaking down how many non-Koreans appear and how they are represented. Among all TV dramas, 6.4% show non-Korean characters of which are generally supportive or small roles. These characters are categorized into four groups: adoration, sympathy, proximity, and other. The adoration group consists mostly of white males from USA or Europe that have professional careers such as medical doctors or lawyers and are positively represented with attractive appearance and nice character. On the other hand, the sympathy group is made up of Southeast, Central Asians and blacks. They are mainly represented as an underprivileged group: females and low-paid workers. In the proximity group are the Japanese and Chinese characters. The Japanese are often represented as rich people that are highly competent or are able to easily cooperate with Koreans. This result shows that Korean TV dramas provide racial and ethnic stereotypes. Though rarely, some dramas represent various lives of foreigners and racial others in Korea. This study contributes to the establishment of sound multiculturalism by analyzing representation of racial others in TV dramas and internalized stereotypes of foreigners in the diverse and multicultural Korean society.
