Performance Analysis of Call Admission Control Utilizing WLAN to Mitigate Congestion of Cellular Networks (WLAN을 이용한 셀룰러망 혼잡도 완화를 위한 호수락제어 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we propose a resource effective call admission control(CAC) in integrated WLAN and cellular network. The proposed CAC mitigates the congestion of cellular network by handing over non-realtime traffic to WLAN. We analyze the proposed CAC in numerical and simulation method. The simulation results show that the proposed CAC achieves better performance than normal CAC. Especially, the proposed CAC can sustain desired QoS more robustly against high incoming non-realtime traffic load than againt realtime traffic load.

  • The Seoul Metropolitan Subway, which started operating in 1974, plays a major role in transporting 7,289 thousands passengers daily. This trend of a steadily increase in passengers from 2012 has increased the congestion rate because of the limited capacity and time. To solve this problem, Seoul city is consistently working on improving the subway facilities, such as the construction of a detour path. This project, however, has only a slight effect on improving the congestion rate and is too expensive to construct the facilities. Hence, this study suggests The Congestion Standardization System based on the IoT for improving the subway congestion rate. Based on the system, the expected effect analysis was performed, which resulted in a decrease in ride passengers from 34 to 20. In addition, this expected effect analysis shows that the number of subway vehicles can increase from 20 to 24. The suggested system will have a significant effect on the efficiency of the management system.

  • Transmission congestion is one of the key factors to local market power in competitive electricity markets. Financial transmission rights provide the financia] protection to their holders by paying back the congestion rent. A variety researches have shown that the existing trading mechanisms on transmission right can exacerbate market power. This paper proposes an alternative methodology in mitigating the local market power using the Contingent Transmission Rights on the locational marginal pricing scheme. The proposed methodology was demonstrated with the Optimal Power Flow.

  • 본 논문에서는 서울특별시 청소년들을 위해 버스 차내 혼잡을 완화하기 위한 단거리 버스 노선을 제안한다. 버스 이용률이 높고 청소년 거주 비율이 높은 행정구역을 선정 후 등교 시간에 승하차량이 많은 구간과 차내 혼잡이 학교 인근까지 이어지는 노선을 추출하였고, 이를 기반으로 새로운 단거리 버스를 제안한다. 최종적으로 선정된 노선은 단방향 수요가 강해 Dijkstra Algorithm을 이용하여 최단 거리 공차 회송 노선을 선정하였다.

ITS 및 텔레매틱스 국내외 표준화

  • 오늘날 현대 사회의 산업화, 도시화, 고도화는 자동차를 없어서는 안 될 필수품으로 자리매김하도록 하였다. 그에 따라 자동차 수는 1,500만대를 넘어서는 반면, 도로를 포함한 기반 시설의 증가는 연 2% 정도로 턱없이 부족하다. 이러한 현상으로 인해 발생되는 교통 혼잡을 완화하기 위해서 교통시설의 공급을 확대하거나, 교통시설의 효율성을 극대화하기 위한 많은 방안들이 모색되고 있으며, 그 중 교통 시설의 효율성을 높이기 위한 방안으로 부각되고 있는 것이 ITS 및 텔레매틱스 분야 이다. 본고에서는 ITS 및 텔레매틱스와 관련된 국내외 표준화의 현황과 전망에 대해서 살펴본다.

  • 실시간 변화하는 교통상황을 파악하고 교통혼잡을 완화시키려는 각종 교통정책들을 개발하고 평가하기 위하여 동적 통행배정모형에 대한 연구가 지속되고 있으며 상당한 성과 를 이루고 있다. 그러나 이론적인 어려움과 계산량과 과다로 기존의 모형들은 대부분 단순 가로망을 대상으로 적용되어 왔으며 대규모 가로망에 적용하는 데는 상당한 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 실제 가로망에 쉽게 적용할 수 있는 휴리스틱 동적 통행배정모형을 개발하고 이를 해석할 수 있는 알고리즘을 개발하는 데 있다. 개발되는 모형은 변동부등식 (variational inequality)으로 구축되며 알고리즘은 휴리스틱 알고리즘(heuristic disagonalized algorithm)을 개발한다. 예제 가로망을 대상으로 개발된 모형을 평가하며 도출된 해가 Wrdrop의 균형해(equilibrium)임을 보인다.

TCP Performance Analysis of Packet Buffering in Mobile IP based Networks (모바일 IP 네트워크에서 패킷 버퍼링 방식의 TCP 성능 분석)

  • To prevent performance degradation of TCP due to packet losses in the smooth handoff by the route optimization extension of Mobile IP protocol, a buffering of packets at a base station is needed. A buffering of packets at a base station recovers those packets dropped during handoff by forwarding buffered packets at the old base station to the mobile user. But, when the mobile user moves to a congested base station in a new foreign subnetwork, those buffered packets forwarded by the old base station are dropped and TCP transmission performance of a mobile user in the congested base station degrades due to increased congestion by those forwarded burst packets. In this paper, considering the general case that a mobile user moves to a congested base station, we analyze the influence of packet buffering on TCP performance according to handoff arrival distribution for Drop-tail and RED (Random Early Detection) buffer management schemes. Simulation results show that RED scheme can reduce the congestion increased by those forwarded burst packets comparing Drop-Tail, but RED scheme cannot avoid Global Synchronization due to forwarded burst packets by the old base station and new buffer management scheme to avoid it is needed in Mobile IP based networks.

  • 교통혼잡의 묘사를 보다 구체적으로 하기 위한 Mesoscopic시뮬레이션 모형으로서 INTEGRATION을 소개한다. 모형의 기본구조가 설명되고, 특히 응용사례로서 경부고속도로 축을 중심으로 한 주거지역의 급속한 팽창으로 야기된 고속도로상의 교통대안을 평가하려는데 초점을 맞추고 있다. 교통대안은 혼잡을 완화시키는데 타당하고 기술적으로도 실현가능한 대안이 제시된다. 이러한 대안들은 거시 및 미시 모의실험모형을 통해 면밀히 분석 평가되며 또한 대안을 도출하고 평가하는 과정의 제시로서 교통량조사에 근거한 OD 도출, Subarea 네트워크 분석 및 통합된 네트워크 모의실험과 같은 새로운 기법들이 아울러 제시된다. 대안의 대부분은 네트워크 개선에 관련한 것이다. 반포 IC 진출입로 공사(Al), 위빙 제거를 기초로 한 서초 IC TSM(A2), 서초-양재 구간의 고속 저속 분리(A3), 헌릉 IC(A4)의 신설, 판교 JC 개선(A5), 백현 IC(A6)신설. 가장 자본 집약적인 대안은 A4, A6순이다. A1, A5, A6은 구간은 짧으나, 자본 집약적이며 어느 정도의 공사 기간이 소요된다. 가장 비용이 적게 소요되는 대안은 A2, A3이다. A2는 시행이 용이하나, A3의 경우 공사기간 중 교통분산 대책이 필요하다. A1, A6은 속도증가와 통행시간 절감의 측면에서 가장 비용대비 효율적인 것으로 분석되었다. 시뮬레이션의 한계 및 개선방안이 함께 검토되었다.

Estimation of Optimal Fare for Cloud Transportation System (클라우드교통시스템의 최적 요금 산정)

  • The Traffic congestion is caused by the increasing traffic demand. Thus, economic losses have been increasing every year. To solve these problems, car sharing and rental car systems that are equipped with IT technologies emerge. Car sharing has many advantages-the alleviation of the traffic congestion, the saving of maintenance cost for cars, the reduction of car possessiveness, the solution for the hassle of car ownership, for business and personal duty, and the improvement of connectivity between public transportations-. The goal of the car sharing is to achieve low-carbon and eco-friendly transportation. In this study, we review papers related to the car sharing system and the cost system of traffic systems. We estimate the optimal cost of the cloud traffic system that is one of the car sharing services. We suggest a methodology to estimate operational cost and use cost through the analysis of cost system between similar traffic means. The range of the maximum and minimum cost was determined through the comparison and analysis of similar traffic means. Expected demand and the cost that people are willing to pay were estimated through optimized value pricing. The minimum cost per hour that was compared to the cost of rental car was estimated at 5,333 won and the maximum cost per hour that was compared to taxi cost was estimated at 17,700 won. The cost for users was estimated at 6,930 won. The cost of 50% demands was estimated at 6,550won. Future studies should analyze service hours of users, weather, demand pattern and trend and consider them into the cost estimation.

Modified RTT Estimation Scheme for Improving Throughput of Delay-based TCP in Wireless Networks (무선 환경에서 지연기반 TCP의 성능 향상을 위한 수정된 RTT 측정 기법)

  • In a wireless network, TCP causes the performance degradation because of mistaking packet loss, which is caused by characteristics of wireless link and throughput oscillation due to change of devices connected on a limited bandwidth. Delay based TCP is not affected by packet loss because it controls window size by using the RTT. Therefore, it can solve the problem of unnecessary degradation of the rate caused by misunderstanding reason of packet loss. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for improving the remaining problems by using delay based TCP. The proposed scheme can change throughput adaptively by adding the RTT, which rapidly reflects the network conditions to BaseRTT. It changes the weight of RTT and the increases and decreases window size based on the remaining amount of the buffer. The simulation indicated that proposed scheme can alleviate the throughput oscillation problem, as compared to the legacy TCP Vegas.
