  • Yeogkwa Bo is a biographical source that was re-edited based on the primary sources such as Yeogkwa Bangmok which is the list of the successful applicants in Yeogkwa. 7 Kinds of the existing Yeogkwa Bo was studied and analyzed in bibliographical way. This study proves that the period of available record(of successful applicants' names) ranges from 1807 to 1891, although it has been mentioned before that the period of record covers as far as 1882. As a result of comparison of mentioned family names, family origins, total number of the successful applicants in Yeogkwa, and content of record, Yeog Bo of Dangrih University's shows the most extensive and substantial work, and Yeogkwa Bo of Jangseo Kag's is quite superior to other archives present at home. But both of them show problems such as errors or omission of some records, confusion in spelling and so on. Therefore, the above study implies that there should be process of checking through study of Yeogkwa Bangmok when making reference to Yeogkwa Bo which provides biographical information on family trees and origins as well as information on the individual successful applicants in Yeogkwa.

  • Among 28 land Categories, 'road' is that most frequently established or transformed. Like that of other 27 land categories, the boundary of road should be defined by boundary making principles and then fixed by cadastral laws. But, some criteria to determine the land boundary, especially in boundary making rule which can be used by geographical features, is confused partly in Land Use Planning stages. Because the purpose of making any rules in fixing road boundary may be misinterpreted, the gap between law and real land boundary can be occurred. Those related rules in determining the land boundary must be improved urgently. Cut surface' or 'slope' should be conformed as a legal term and I suggest that 'Structures' must be changed to 'geographical features'.

  • Many students feel the word problems are very difficult. This study analyzes the linguistic and cognitive factors that affect word problem solving so that we help students bring through the difficulty. There are a text base, a situation model, and a real world in the linguistic aspects. Students have a difficulty at the transition from text base to situation model(equation), and make lots of errors at the situation model. In the cognitive aspects, I investigated problem solving schemes, strategies, and complexity level. Students are likely to choose strategy by the contents which teacher instructed, but not by low complexity level, and mix up the amount of sugar and sugar water, and concentration. We can recognize how complex the types of word problems are to solve, which strategies students choose largely, and what errors that students make in the problem solving are.

  • This study was performed to reveal the factors determine self-rated health status between middle aged and elderly living in community. The subjects for this study consisted of 142 middle aged and 201 elders who lived in 3 cities of convenience sampling method. The Data was collected through personal interviews with questionnaires from March to July, 2014. For the data analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression were used with SPSS Statistics program. The determinants on self-rated health status were present illness, stress management, health responsibility, fatigue, anger, tension, and social support among the middle-aged persons and physical activity, present illness, confusion, and exercise among elderly persons. On the basis of the results in this study, we should develop differentiated health promotion programs through education, counselling and health examination for the middle-aged adults and elderly.

  • Purpose : We intended to find out how the red cell transfusion would change the white cell count in preterm neonates under treatment in the intensive care unit. We also speculated whether the magnitude of such a change could indicate a potential neonatal infection. Methods : Total white blood cell count, total neutrophil count, and band count were compared and analyzed retrospectively on 33 preterm neonates who received red cell transfusions in our hospital's intensive care unit over a period of two years and a month. Results : We found a mean change of $1.33{\times}10^3/mm^3$ and $0.55{\times}10^3/mm^3$ in total white blood cell count and total neutrophil count in the first eight hours following the red cell transfusion. No significant change was observed in band count between pre and post-red cell transfusion. Conclusion : A mild increase in the white blood cell count caused by an increase in neutrophil count was observed temporarily following the red cell transfusion. But the white blood cell count returned to the pre-transfusion level in about 24 hours, indicating that such a low level of increase cannot be interpreted as an infection of a preterm neonate.

  • In information system research. there has been a strong interest in developing the user-centered interface. Interface metaphors have been regarded as a user friendly device of the information retrieval systems. This study is to discover overall opinions about metaphors and to evaluate the usability of metaphors used in the homepages and retrieval interfaces of academic and public libraries. It is found that some metaphors cause users to confuse because they are similar each others or don\`t have unique meaning and because some have weak relationship between texts and images of metaphors. It is necessary to develop a metaphor model suitable for the a specific interface. This study proposes to develop functional metaphors which can help users easily understand how to operate and remember the procedures, and which are based in user\`s knowledge and experiences. The organizational metaphors of a virtual community also will be considered as a new type of retrieval interfaces.

  • This study examines the characteristics of Korean journalism ethics as job ideology by analyzing the specific conditions revealed in the historical process of the construction of Korean journalism ethics, focusing on the change of social relationships which intervene in the construction of journalism ethics. By this interpretation, this study proposes the desirable directions in journalism ethics discussion and practice strategies in the journalism field. Therefore this study analyzed the historical process and the development phase of discourse in journalism ethics in which the job position of Korean journalists have changed. In result, this study found that the discourse of Korean was used for the instrumental and rhetorical means to cope with the outside pressure in the lack of occupational self-control which becomes the premise of ethics. Because of this, the Korean journalism ethics characterize the rhetorical feature of ethical code, the structured separation of practice from cognition, the conceptual confusion of responsibility from ethics.

  • The ensuing disaster brought by the massive earthquake and tsunami in the northeastern region of Japan in 2011 placed Japan, one of the three most advanced economic powers in the world, in a defenseless state. With the rising interest in disaster recovery, Korea is also making efforts to provide technological support for barrier-free system operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To protect intelligence assets efficiently, this study draws a job performance plan to prepare for disasters, which systemizes methodical coping capabilities into business plans when disasters occur. Moreover, this study systemizes the job performance plan to allow members easy access to information that will help them proceed without confusion in emergencies. This plant is intended to protect intelligence assets of an organization clearly and promptly.

  • This paper finds that the ultimate source of problems facing Korean mobile telecommunications such as excessive subsidies of handsets, waste of resources, and a vicious circle of expensive handsets and high prices for services, is bundling of handset and subscription. The analysis suggests that bundling causes consumers to confuse about prices of handsets and services, and firms focus on handset subsidy competition rather than on upgrading service qualities and lowering prices due to anti-competitive effects of bundling. Because most of the cost of bundling is passed on to consumers, the welfare of consumers decline. In particular, equality among consumers worsens due to price discriminations. To resolve these problems, unbundling of handset and subscription is a necessity. Mixed bundling allowing separate selling of handsets under bundling does not seem to work as a cure because bundling tends to be a dominant strategy. The best regulatory policy is a complete separation of handset and subscription.

  • In recent times, the median filtering (MF) detector as a forensic tool for the recovery of forgery images' processing history has concerned broad interest. For the classification of MF image, MF detector should be designed with smaller feature set and higher detection ratio. This paper presents a novel method for the detection of MF in altered images. It is transformed from BMP to several kinds of MF image by the median window size. The difference distribution values are computed according to the window sizes and then the values construct the feature set same as the MF window size. For the MF detector, the feature set transformed to the model specification which is computed using latent growth modeling (LGM). Through experiments, the test image is classified by the discriminant into two classes: the true positive (TP) and the false negative (FN). It confirms that the proposed algorithm is to be outstanding performance when the minimum distance average is 0.119 in the confusion of TP and FN for the effectivity of classification.
