This study attempted to analyze the psychological impact of mentally retarded children on their normal siblings in the family. The data were collected from siblings of 130 mentally retarded children using a questionnaire with a semantic differential scale. ANOVA and simple correlation coefficient tests were employed to examine the relationship between the siblings’ self-concept and psychological frustration. The major results of the study are as following. 1. Female siblings showed a lower degree of self-concept than male siblings. 2. No significant relationship was found between self-concept and frustration stimuli. 3. Parent related frustration stimuli was no significantly different in sex age, siblings, religion, and retardation level of mentally retarded children. 4. Siblings related frustration stimuli was significantly related to only one item in sex. 5. Their peers related frustration stimuli while sex as well as religion was significantly related to only one item.

웹 환경에서 처리하는 데이터의 종류가 텍스트에서 비디오, 오디오와 같은 멀티미디어 데이터까지 다양해지면서 데이터를 효율적으로 표현, 저장 및 검색하기 위한 다양한 방법이 연구되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 동영상 데이터의 구조적인 형태를 고려하여 XML 문서로 표현하고 XML 문서를 데이터베이스에 저장하기 위한 데이터베이스 스키마를 설계하였다. 그래서 XML 문서내의 각 노드에 엘리먼트의 고유성을 나타내기 위한 고유식별자와 부모노드와 자식노드들 간의 관계를 표현하여 주기 위한 엘리먼트 식별자와 ETID를 결합하여 멀티미디어 데이터에 대한 XML 문서의 부모와 자식의 관계를 표현하여 준다. 그리고 부모가 같은 형제간의 순서 정보와 형제들 간의 동일한 타입을 구별하고 정보를 표현하기 위한 관계 테이블을 설계하였다.

This study examined the effects of parenting behaviors, marital conflict and sibling relations on aggression with a sample of 301 6th graders (161 boys and 140 girls) living in P city. The subjects answered questionnaires regarding parenting behaviors, including sub-scales of physical punishment and psychological control, marital conflict, and sibling relations. Aggression was rated by peers. The results indicated that boys showed higher overt aggression than girls; children were aggressive when parents frequently used physical punishment and psychological control; the more children were exposed to marital conflict, the more aggressive they were, with particularly high correlations for girls; and the less positive and the more negative the sibling relations, the higher the aggression shown by children. Among the variables, parent's behaviors were the most highly correlated with aggression in both boys and girls.

The purpose of this study was to examine children's sociability as a function of sex of child, number and sex of sibling, and birth order. Children's responses were compared with mothers' responses on social participation and interpersonal adjustment. Subjects were 506 4th and 5th grade children and their mothers. Results showed that mothers' perceptions of their child's sociability were different from those of the children. 'Number of sibling' differences between only children and others were found, with onlies being most likely to show lower scores in interpersonal adjustment. Sex differences in sociability were clearly demonstrated by both children and mothers; that is, boy's interpersonal adjustment scores were lower than girls' scores. Two-way ANOVA data revealed that second-born boys and first-born girls were most likely to obtain higher scores. For siblings, elder sisters showed the highest interpersonal adjustment scores, regardless of sex of younger sibling.

정보통신의 발달과 인터넷의 확산으로 정보에 대한 사용자의 욕구가 다양해졌다. 최근에는 인물을 중심으로 검색을 제공하는 웹(Web)사이트들이 등장하고 있다. 이러한 웹사이트들을 살펴보면 텍스트 위주의 서비스를 제공하거나 Hyper Link를 이용한 검색 시스템을 사용하고 있다. 특히 사이버 족보들은 단순히 자신의 위치만 검색이 가능하고 자신의 형제, 부모, 자식의 위치를 검색하기에는 불가능하다. 또한 대부분의 사이버 족보에서는 조상들의 유물이나 유적에 대하여 이미지와 부연 설명만을 제공하고 있어 후손들에게 많은 정보를 제공하고 있지 못한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 트리 알고리즘을 도입하여 사이버 족보를 설계해 보았다. 사이버 족보 내에서 자신만이 아니라 부모, 형제, 그리고 본인의 자식까지 검색이 가능한 알고리즘을 설계하였으며 조상들의 유물과 유적에 대하여 검색이 가능하도록 설계하였다.

This study investigated the experience of physical violence among adolescents and the domestic variables explaining sibling violence. Data were collected from 501 adolescents in 2007 and analyzed using SPSS 16.0. The statistics used for analysis were the T-Test, two-way ANOVA, and regression. Findings indicated that 45% of the sample population had experienced sibling violence and the most common acts were "hit with hand or objects". The violence of parents toward their children, gender, and the frequency of conflict between siblings were associated with sibling violence. From these results, the study proposed that education about sibling violence should be included in social work programs.

This study was to investigate parental rearing attitudes which are perceived by the only children and sibling children and their socio-emotional development. The subjects were 426 4th and 6th grade students in an elementary school located in Seoul and Kyonggi-do. The data was analyzed by SPSS WIN computer program. Two-way ANOVA and Multiple Regression analyses were performed. Within group variables that predicted children's socio-emotional development were parental achievemental, loving and autonomous attitude, and school-aged children's socio-emotional development was most predicted by parental achievemental attitude.
