Two Views on the Mathematics Lessons: Teacher's Perspective and Students' Perspective (수학 수업을 바라보는 두 가지 시각: 교사의 관점과 학생의 관점)

  • There have been a number of lesson analysis studies, yet not many studies address the issue of the perspective of students who play a key role in the lesson along with the teacher. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the teacher and the students interpret the mathematics lesson they experienced, and to find out the potential discrepancy between the teacher and the students in their perceptions of mathematics lesson. To pursue this purpose, 10 consecutive lessons were videotaped in the 8th grade mathematics classroom, and the video-stimulated post-lesson interviews were also conducted with the teacher and the students. Based on the lesson videos and the interview data, six discrepancies between the teacher and the students in their perceptions of mathematics lesson were dentified: the discrepancy between the teacher's intention and students' interest in the lesson; different interpretation and response to the teacher's mistake; formal abidance; topaze effect; different recognition of the students' preference among the topics; teacher's insufficient response to students' needs. These six discrepancies were further categorized and some implications were drawn.

  • The image that reflects the lapse of time can only take the form of segmentation originally. All of the fixation status in an image is shown to us as the form of division(segmentation) whether it is the form of two dimensional paintings or three dimensional sculptures, but not the form of video monitors. This kind of method was extremely developed in the cartoon field. Therefore, the cartoon evolves the subjects of events and finds the worth and meaning through the arrangement of cuts. Also, Animation inquires into the principles of attaching the media continuously. The media is represented in the segmentation according to the lapse of time and I tend to analyze the origination of cartoon formation. Consequently, I tired to find the examples of the prehistoric cuts and forms, the divisions of fragmented cartoon stripes, and the cuts and forms which are composed of narrative and descriptive styles of arrangement, and finally can certify and validate them. In summary, the sections and divisions of the variable kinds of cuts and frames for the expression of the time were corroborated. The potentials of the space usage and the diversity of the cartoon formation were also founded and illustrated to suggest the broader stands of cartoon.

Review on the Extreme Didactic Phenomena in the Mathematical Class (수학 교실에서 나타나는 극단적 교수 현상에 대한 고찰)

  • The extreme didactic phenomena that occur by ignoring or overemphasizing the process of personalization/contextualization, depersonalization/decontextualization of mathematical knowledge is always in our teaching practice and in fact, seems to be a kind of phenomena that suppress teachers psychologically or didactically. The study of the problems on error, misconception or obstacles revealed by students has been done continuously, but that of the extreme didactic phenomena revealed by teachers has not. In this study, I will explain four extreme didactic phenomena and help you understand them by giving various examples from several case studies and analyzing them. And also, I will discuss the way to overcome the extreme didactic phenomena in the mathematical class, based on this analysis. This thesis will become a standard of didactic phenomena that are proceeded extremely by having teachers reconsider their own classes and furthemore, will offer the research data for considering better didactic situation.

An Analysis of Newspaper Coverage of Korean Movie Stars : Focusing on the Image of Movie Stars and Reporting Trend (신문의 한국 영화스타 보도 내용분석 : 영화스타의 이미지와 보도 경향 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine what kind of images were presented on movie stars in the newspaper. For the purpose, we classified the time period according to the movie industry and media trend, selected representative stars by period, and collected 798 related articles reported in newspapers. As a result of analyzing the reporting trend, domestic and foreign topics, news format, and gender difference in collected movie star articles, it was found that the image of movie stars reproduced in newspaper articles had mostly neutral images that do not represent specific gender. Since the 2000s, news coverage was changed to reproduce various images rather than being fixed to particular images, and the subject of report became more diversified through comparison of domestic and foreign topics. In addition, articles in the form of book review decreased and the interview-type articles increased in number, and in the case of male movie stars, the proportion of articles based on works was high in comparison to female movie stars. This study has significance in that it explored the changes in the process of reproducing star images diachronically from the initial stage of stars to the modern times. And it is hoped that this study will serve as basic data for the follow-up studies on the process of reproducing various images in the multi-media era.

A Study on 'Seungininsangmu' of Haejugwonbeon (<성인인상무>에 대한 연구)

  • The Buddhist dance, which is considered to be the essence of Korean folk dance, has changed and developed over many years, having profound influential relations with Buddhism in terms of its origin, source, title, and costumes. Today the Buddhist dance is performed in two fixed types, Jangsam dance and Buk dance, but it is estimated that there must have been various forms of Buddhist dance during the Japanese rule based on the its historicity and various origination theories. It was around 1940 that Jang Yang-seon, the master of Haejugwonbeon, turned 'Seungininsangmu' into a work through Yang So-woon. The present study analyzed the video of 'Seungininsangmu' performed at the 'Performance in the Memory of Yang So-woon' in 2010, and the analysis results were as follows: first, the dance has a clear message to be delivered in its title and connotes an origination theory of Buddhist dance, which argues that the Buddhist dance was created by a Buddhist that underwent agony and corruption during his ascetic practice and later returned to Buddhism. Secondly, the process of Jangsam dance - Buknori - Bara dance - Heoteun dance - Hoisimgok - Guiui shows the thematic consciousness of the dance clearly in a sequential manner. Finally, the dance was in a form of combining various expressive methods according to the story and its development including the Bara dance, a dance performed in a Buddhist ceremony, the Heoteun dance, which is strongly characterized by individuality and spontaneity that are folk features, and Hoisimgok, the Buddhist music. Those findings indicate that the dance reflected well the flow of putting the Buddhist dance on the stage or turning it into a work in the early 20th century. Compared with the types of Buddhist dance in a strong form including the Jangsam dance and Buk dance, 'Seungininsangmu' conveys the meanings that the original Buddhist dance tried to express in terms of content and reflects on the diversity of combined Akgamu and theatrical elements in terms of form. The present study is significant in that it offers many implications for the Buddhist dance capable of future-oriented development.

  • This thesis aims at examining his understandings about the The Great Learning centering on the of the founder of the YiYongHuSaeng School (利用厚生學派: A school who pursued prosperous economy and welfare of people) orthe BukHak School(北學派: A positive school that pursued mercantilism) from the Joseon Dynasty, Dam-Heon Hong Dae Yong (1731-1783). 1) From what is indicated in the , his studies mainly focused on the annotations from DaeHakJangGuDaeJeonJipJu ("大學章句大全集註": A book that edited different phrases from the Great Learning into chapters and paragraphs), Questioning of the Great Learning", and "JuJaUhRyu (朱子語類: A book of Confucian literature written by Yeo Jung Deok" of Zhu Xi who was a representative scholar of the Neo-Confucianism in the Song Dynasty. 2) Acknowledging entirely the arguing points of Zhu Xi, he is taking a critical position in a way that partial doubts are divided into seven chapters and questioned. 3) For the main characteristic and direction of the questioning, he is estimating that Zhu Xi only stressed the 'means' and 'interior' out of the world of 'means and ends' and 'interior and exterior' in Zhu Xi's recognizing and handling cases; instead, he emphasized putting equivalent value on the 'ends' and 'exterior' as well. 4) In fact, such questions raised partially were misconceived since they were not carried out through profound understanding nor systematic logic expansion of what Zhu Xi insisted. 5) Despite this, at the point where Neo-Confucian thoughts were fixed and weakened only with its form left in the late Joseon Dynasty, his perspective on the study of Confucian classics that the 'ends' and 'exterior' should be as equally valued as the 'means' and 'interior' by examining through the core text of the Neo-Confucianism, The Great Learning has its significance in his YiYongHuSaeng dogma that says politicians, by all means, should provide the ruled with economic convenience and welfare and this is their very right virtue.
