  • 레이저를 이용한 직접금속성형기술(영문명 : DMT: Direct Metal Tooling)은 고 부가가치의 기능성 소재(금속, 합금, 세라믹 등)의 미세한 분말을 원하는 3차원 공간상에 주사함과 동시에 이를 레이저로 직접, 순간 용착시키며 이것이 공간상에서 축적되가면서 미리 정해진 3차원 파트형상이 자동적으로 빌드업 되도록 하는 고도의 정밀제어 기술을 요하는 신기술이다. 이는 컴퓨터에 저장된 3차원 디지털 형상정보(digital data of 3D subjects)만 갖고 있으면 이로부터 그에 해당하는 금속파트형상을 적절히 소재분말을 이용하여 곧바로 실물로 재현하여 얻을 수 있게 됨을 의미하며 이로서 기존에 절삭기계를 이용한 가공 공법보다 손쉽고 빠르면서도 반면 기계적 성질은 종전기술보다 월등히 우수한 B차원 금속 파트나 금형 형상을 소재의 낭비가 전혀 없는 환경 친화적인 방법으로 제작할 수 있는, 소위 밀레니엄시대를 대표하는 최첨단 미래형 기술의 구현이다.

  • 금속산화물을 제조하는 방법으로 수열반응은 wire, rod, needle, lamella, flower등 다양한 형상을 화학적으로 합성하는데 널리 이용된다. 또한 금속산화물의 특성은 구조와 형상에 의존하고, 구조와 형상에 따라 촉매, 기능성 첨가제, 초전도체등에 다양한 분야로 사용되어진다. 본 연구는 수열방법으로 각 물질의 염화물과 암모니아수를 출발물질로 사용하였고, ionization 제어를 위해 염화암모늄을 사용하여 각 물질의 전구체를 합성하였다. 형성된 각 물질의 전구체는 열분해를 통해 산화물로 제조하였다. 이들 입자의 형상 및 특성을 확인하기 위해 SEM, XRD, FT-IR, Raman을 사용하여 확인하였다.

  • 차세대 제트 추진기관으로 주목받고 있는 스크램제트 엔진의 핵심은 연소기 내부에서의 성공적인 초음속 연소를 필요로 한다. 초음속 연소는 공기-연료 혼합(fuel-air mixing)의 정도에 따라 연소효율이 영향을 받게 된다. 공동형 화염 보염기(cavity flameholder)는 재순환 영역(recirculation zone)을 생성하여 연료 혼합의 효율을 높여 지속적인 초음속 연소가 진행될 수 있는 시간을 제공한다. 본 연구에서는 EDISON 전산유체역학 소프트웨어를 이용하여 공동형 화염 보염기를 지나는 초음속 유동의 재순환 영역과 전압력 변화에 대한 전산 해석을 수행하였다. 초기 형상을 생성하여 유동 해석을 수행한 후, 3개의 형상 변수에 대한 매개 변수 연구를 통하여 공동의 형상과 위치에 따른 재순환영역의 제어가 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • 구조시스템의 동적 특성은 구조 모델 업데이트, 구조 헬스 모니터링, 구조 제어 분야에서 기초자료로 활용되기 때문에 많은 연구자들의 관심을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 부유식구조물의 축소모형을 대상으로 진동실험을 수행하였으며, 계측한 실험데이터로부터 고유진동수와 모드형상을 추출하였다. 실험에서 구한 진동특성 결과는 유한요소 모델의 결과와 비교하였으며, 계측한 모드형상과 수치해석으로 계산된 모드형상의 상관관계를 수록하였다.

A Shape Control of Welded Joints to Improve Fatigue Strength (피로강도 향상을 위한 용접이음부의 형상제어에 관한 연구)

  • When U-ribs of steel deck plates are connected at the field, overhead welding should be done with backing strips. Misalignments may occur and lead to eccentric moments as well as high stress concentrations at welded joints. In this study, stress analyses and fatigue tests were carried out. Stress analyses for U-ribs' welded joints with backing strips were performed with different misalignments, root shapes, root gaps, and backing strip sizes. From the stress analyses, the stress concentration factors increased with increasing misalignments and root gaps. With the fixed misalignments and root gaps, the stress concentration factors obtained in the case of the semi-circle root shape were lower than those in the case of the right-angle root shape. It was verified that backing strip sizes have little influence on stress concentration factors. The fatigue tests for U-ribs' welded joints with backing strips indicated that increased misalignments shorten fatigue life drastically and cracks usually initiate at the root of the base metal and are propagated to the weld bead surface. Based on the results of the stress analyses, root-shape control methods were developed to mitigate stress concentration by changing welding condition control, radius curvature, and flank angle.

Numerical Study on the Baffle Structure for Determining the Flow Characteristic in Small Scale SCR System (소형 SCR 시스템 내 유동 제어를 위한 Baffle의 구조 결정에 관한 수치해석적 연구)

  • Numerical analysis was done to evaluate the gas flow distribution in small scale SCR system which has $2.4{\times}2.4{\times}3.1\;m^3$ in volume and 25,300 Sm3/hr in flue gas flow capacity. Various types of baffles proposed for controlling the flow uniformity were evaluated by the CFD analysis to find the optimal geometry of the baffle in the SCR system. By installing baffles in the SCR system, the RMS (%) value was raised up to 6.2% compared with the baffle-uninstalled state. The effect of baffle thicknesses on the RMS (%) value was not shown within 0 and 8 mm in thickness, but the RMS (%) value was raised by 2.5% in 10 mm of baffles thickness, which causes the unstability in flow. By comparison between the shape of baffles, it is known that the lattice type baffle has better performance in controlling the flow uniformity than the circular truncated cone type baffle or mixer type baffle. RMS (%) values have more that 10% difference according to the shape of baffle type.

  • This study addresses the optimal shape of a LCVA maximizing its vibration control effect through numerical parametric study. Various LCVAs having the same total mass and tuning frequency are designed with constraints on the dimensions and water level, and one obtaining the highest equivalent damping ratio of the controlled system is chosen as an optimal solution. As a result, it was found that the limit on the variation of the water level in the vertical liquid column plays an important role constraining the shape of the LCVA. As the LCVA width perpendicular to the plane of liquid motion increases, the equivalent damping ratio rises with slowdown so that determination of the proper width is important in design of the LCVA shape.

  • Existing Finocyl grain designs assume configurations and repeat the process of configuration modification and confirmation of the requirements through burn-back analysis. Such a design increases the design fatigue of workers and has a problem of different design completeness depending on capabilities. Therefore, this study devised an optimal design method that applied genetic algorithms to the Burn-back automation analysis program to solve the problem of existing design. For stable search, variable-offset and non-drawable configuration control techniques were developed. The program performance was verified through the searching neutral and double thrust grains.

  • In this paper, results of a multiple spacecraft formation-keeping control using the orbital relative motion and optimization technique are presented. To analyze and predict the relative motion between the formation-flying satellites, a closed-form orbit propagator obtained using the method of ephemeris compression is used. This closed-form orbit propagator is combined with optimization technique to plan a series of impulsive maneuvers, which maintain the formation configuration within the specified limit. As an example, this method is applied to the problem of maintaining the projected circular formation geometry and results from nonlinear simulation are presented.

  • An attitude control system using reaction thrusters for the upper stage of a launch vehicle is considered. The thruster configuration (position and direction) determines control system response, fuel consumption, effective torque and system fault tolerance. We propose a procedure for finding the optimal thruster configuration with desired control effectiveness over the range of selected torque commands. An optimization technique called Particle Swarm Optimization is used for the numerical experiments. The validity of the solution is checked through computer simulations.
