When carrying out a government-supported consulting project A Study on the Effect of Collaborative Characteristics among Consultants on the Consulting Performance (정부지원 컨설팅사업 수행시 컨설턴트간 협업특성이 컨설팅 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study recognized the mutual collaborative characteristics among consultants as important factors in the performance of the government-supported consulting business, and wanted to look at the impact of the cooperative characteristics among consultants on the consulting performance. First, a research model was presented based on theoretical background, hypotheses were set up and surveyed, and hypotheses were verified by multi-circulation analysis. Among the collaboration characteristics among consultants, the most influential was mutual reliable followed by smooth communication, professional competence and role sharing. information sharing was rejected and was found to be relatively less affected than other variables. This can be seen as more important than the quantitative aspect of information sharing because of the collaborative nature of consultants who must work toward common goals. Collaboration among consultants has been positive when carrying out government-funded consulting projects, suggesting that quantitative characteristics should be considered based on the qualitative characteristics based on mutual reliable. In the future, we hope that this data will be useful for identifying collaborative characteristics among consultants when carrying out consulting projects.

  • Recently, SME's Collaboration activities have become one of a vital factor for sustaining competitive edge. This is because of the rapidly changing and competitive market environment, and also to leverage performance by overcoming obstacles of having limited internal resources. Discussing about the effects and relationships of the firm's collaboration activities and its outputs are not new. However, as ICT and various technologies have been diffused into the traditional industries, boundaries and practice capabilities within the industries are becoming ambiguous. Thus contents of the products/services and their development methods are also go and come over the industries. Although many researchers suggested the relations of SME's collaboration activities and innovation performances, most of the previous literatures are focusing on broad perspectives of firm's environmental factors rather than considering various SME's idiosyncrasy factors such as their major product and customer types at once. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyze how SME(Small Medium Enterprise)'s external collaboration activities by their idiosyncrasy act as an input to types of innovation performance. In order to analyze collaboration effects in detail, we defined factors that can represent the SME's business environment - Perceived importance of using external resources, Perceived importance of external partnership, Collaboration and Collaboration levels of Major Product types, Customer types and lastly the Firm Sizes. We have also specifically divided the performance of innovation types as product innovation and process innovation based on existing research. In this study, the empirical analysis is based on Probit Regression Model to observe the correlations with the impact of each SME's business environment and their activities. For the empirical data, 497 samples were collected which, this sample data was extracted from the 'Korean Open Innovation Survey' performed by ETRI(Korean Electronics Telecommunications Research Institute) in 2010. As a result, empirical test results indicated that the impact of collaboration varies depend on the innovation types (Product and Process Innovation). The Impact of the collaboration level for the product innovation tend to be more effective when SMEs are developing for a final product, targeting on for individual customers (B2C). But on the other hand, the analysis result of the Process innovation tend to be higher than the product innovation, when SMEs are developing raw materials for their partners or to other firms targeting on for manufacturing industries(B2B). Also perceived importance of using external resources has effected to both product and process innovation performance. But Perceived importance of external partnership was statistically insignificant. Interesting finding was that the service product has negative effects on for the process innovation performance. And Relationship between size of the firms and their external collaboration activities with their performance of the innovations indicated that the bigger firms(over 100 of employees) tend to have better for both product and process innovations. Finally, implications of the results can be suggested as performance of innovation can be varied depends on firm's unique business idiosyncrasy as well as levels of external collaboration activities. The Implication of this research can be considered for firms in selecting an appropriate strategy as well as for policy makers.

The impact of collaboration process and capabilities on innovation performance in convergence environment (융복합 환경에서 기업 내부 협업프로세스와 역량이 혁신성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study to understand collaborative process and the capabilities of the firm impact on innovation performance in convergence environment. To achieve the purpose, research model was empirically tested with a survey from 162 employees from 4 Korea manufacturing companies and 1 USA company. The data obtained from the survey were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS). As a result, collaboration process, learning capability and operation capability have significant and positive impact on innovation performance. It is a meaningful result that the collaboration process improve the innovation performance of firms through the operation capability and the learning capability.

Performance Improvement of a Movie Recommendation System using Genre-wise Collaborative Filtering (장르별 협업필터링을 이용한 영화 추천 시스템의 성능 향상)

  • This paper proposes a new method of weighted template matching for machine-printed numeral recognition. The proposed weighted template matching, which emphasizes the feature of a pattern using adaptive Hamming distance on local feature areas, improves the recognition rate while template matching processes an input image as one global feature. Template matching is vulnerable to random noises that generate ragged outlines of a pattern when it is binarized. This paper offers a method of chain code trimming in order to remove ragged outlines. The method corrects specific chain codes within the chain codes of the inner and the outer contour of a pattern. The experiment compares confusion matrices of both the template matching and the proposed weighted template matching with chain code trimming. The result shows that the proposed method improves fairly the recognition rate of the machine-printed numerals.

  • Collaborative filtering (CF), one of the most successful recommendation techniques, has been used in a number of different applications such as recommending web pages, movies, music, articles and products. One of the critical issues in CF is why recommendation performances are different depending on application domains. However, prior literatures have focused on only data characteristics to explain the origin of the difference. Scant attentions have been paid to provide systematic explanation on the issue. To fill this research gap, this study attempts to systematically explain why recommendation performances are different using structural indexes of social network. For this purpose, we developed hypotheses regarding the relationships between structural indexes of social network and recommendation performance of collaboration filtering, and empirically tested them. Results of this study showed that density and inconclusiveness positively affected recommendation performance while clustering coefficient negatively affected it. This study can be used as stepping stone for understanding collaborative filtering recommendation performance. Furthermore, it might be helpful for managers to decide whether they adopt recommendation systems.

  • Internal and external environment changes surrounding our society are pressing our government to solve a lot of difficult problems. These problems are more likely to be solved by a number of ministries and agencies, rather than a single ministry or agency. Thus collaboration is a necessary strategy to increase government's problem-solving skills. This study examines determinants of successful collaboration by analysing cases of local governments that solved uneasy problems covering many ministries after persistent efforts which have been controversial issues in our society. First, theoretical approach for collaboration and its matrix is examined. Second, interviews of government officers are analyzed to study collaboration cases. Finally, Strategic points of view are discussed to promote collaboration within government sectors. The results show that common goal sharing, incentives and supporting systems play important roles in inducing collaboration.

  • WebDAV는 웹통신 프로토콜인 HTTP/1.1의 확장으로서 인터넷을 통하여 다양한 자원의 비동기적인 협업을 지원하는 표준 프로토콜이다. CoSlide 시스템은 협업을 효과적으로 지원하기 위하여 WebDAV 프로토콜을 확장하여 개발된 협업시스템이다. CoSlide 협업시스템은 협업을 위한 가상공간을 제공하며 가상공간에 다양한 자원을 등록 및 관리할 수 있다. CoSlide 협업시스템을 활용하여 효과적인 협업을 수행하기 위한 사용자 중심의 클라이언트가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 WebDAV 프로토콜을 이용한 협업시스템인 Coslide를 효과적으로 활용하기 위한 클라이언트 개발에 대하여 기술한다. 개발된 클라이언트는 사용자가 서버에 등록한 자원을 관리하는 기능과 팀원들 간의 상호 작용을 원활하게 지원하는 사용자 인터페이스를 제공한다. 또한 CoSlide 협업시스템을 사용하는 사용자는 새로운 작업장을 생성하고 다른 사용자를 초대할 수 있으며, 작업장에 파일을 등륵, 이동 그리고 삭제할 수 있다. 기존의 협업시스템에서 분산저작을 하는 경우 클라이언트에서 제공하는 특정 프로그램을 이용하거나, 파일을 서버로부터 내려받아 이를 수정하여 다시 등록하는 과정을 거친다. 본 클라이언트는 이러한 단점을 개선하여 CoSlide 협업시스템의 자원에 대하여 다양한 저작프로그램을 자동적으로 연결하여주며, 실시간으로 협업시스템의 자원을 갱신하여 준다. 또한 자원에 대한 일관성을 보장하기 위하여 자동 잠금기능을 제공한다. 추가적으로 사용자는 드래그앤드랍 기능을 이용하여 작업장간의 자원을 이동할 수 있다.

  • 오늘날에는 국가 간의 기술경쟁이 더욱 치열해 지면서 국가 경쟁력 확보를 위하여 최단기간 내에 최고의 성과를 얻을 수 있도록 협업 정보를 가상공간상에서 지원하기 위한 국가차원의 "소프트 인프라"에 대한 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 기업들은 저렴한 인터넷 망을 사용하지 못하고 상당한 비용의 선용회선을 협업자료의 유통을 위하여 지출하고 있는 것이다. 또한, 기업 내부에는 외부 웹 하드 ASP 사업자들을 통한 웹 하드 서비스를 제공받기 위하여 년간 특정 금액을 지속적으로 자료 유통을 위해서 그 대가를 지불하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기업 내 협업자료를 업무 환경 속에서 효율적으로 유통시키기 위한 정보 보안 강화 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 인터넷은 공동작업과 지식정보 공유를 보다 쉽고 효율적으로 하기 위해 시간과 공간을 초월하는 동적인 협업시스템이 필요하게 되었다. 새로운 형태의 지식공유 시스템인 위키(WIKI)는 연구원간의 자유스러운 정보교환을 보장하는 협업공간을 제공함으로써 지식정보의 생산성과 효율성을 극대화시킨다. 하지만 정보량이 방대해짐에 따라 공동의 주제를 가진 문서들이 중복되어 생성됨으로써 주제의 분산이 이루어져 정보공유의 힘을 약화시키는 문제점을 야기시킨다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기위해 파서(parser), 문서 분류시스템, 유사성 측정시스템으로 구성된 협업문서 생성제어 시스템을 제안한다.

  • 정보통신 기술의 발전으로 정보의 획득, 관리, 활용이 용이해지며 글로벌 네트워크의 구성이 가능해졌다. 글로벌 경쟁의 심화로 경영환경의 불확실성이 증가에 대응하기 위해 기업의 e-비즈니스화가 보편화되면 기업간의 협업이 증대되었다. 협업 네트워크(Collaborative Networks)는 사회적 자본과 목적의 관점에서 대부분 자동화되고, 지리적으로 분산되어 있으며, 컴퓨터 네트워크를 토대로 공통 목표를 성취하기 위해 협력하는 다양한 참여자로 구성되는 네트워크라 할 수 있다. 가상기업은 협업 네트워크의 대표적인 개념으로 시장기회의 대응성을 높이기 위해 상호보완적인 핵심역량을 가진 참여자들의 네트워크이다. 본 연구는 가상기업의 주요 특징을 고찰함으로써 가상기업의 개념을 구체화시키고 가상기업의 성공요인과 위험요인을 도출하고 각 요인간의 상대적 중요도 및 순위화를 통해 가상기업 참여기업의 가이드라인으로 활용하고자한다.
