  • The second instar milkweed bugs, Oncopeltus fasciatus were exposed to the residue of 6-methoxy-7-ethoxy-2, 2- dimethylchromene(or 7-ethoxy precocene 11, 7-EP-11) with one, two, or four different kinds of synergist(s) deposited as a residue on 9 cm diameter petri dishes. The anti juvenile hormone analog, 7-EP-I1 yielded a 50% effectiveness concentration at 1.18 wg/cmZ. The concentration of 7-EP-I1 and R020-9747 combined gave 0.084 ~*g/cm', as much 14 times more potent than with 7-EP-I1 alone. Most of the other synergists, including geraniol, 4-chalcone oxide, isosafrole, and piperonyl butoxide however, showed comparatively low level synergism with 1.0-4.3 times, depending upon the combinations of the synergist(s). The obtained results were considered that R020-9747, an analog of benzopyran with similar structure to that of 7-EP-I1 inhibited selectively the insect monooxygenase oxidative defense mechanism, in the body except for corpora allata because general antioxidants of piperonyl butoxide, isosafrole, and 4-phenyl chalcone oxide showed relatively mild synergism.

  • This study aims to investigate better predictors, among learner participation and interaction, for collective self-efficacy and achievement in a web-based collaborative learning environment. Interaction requires communication among two or more learners, while participation does not. In this study, interaction was measured by in-degree centrality and out-degree centrality based on the social network analysis perspective. Multiple regression analysis results from 53 college students who performed team project via online showed that in-degree centrality predicted collective self-efficacy and out-degree centrality predicted achievement, while participation was not a significant predictor.

  • This study was performed to investigate detoxifying enzyme activities of carboxylesterase(CE), glutathione S-transferase(GST) and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) at variable toxicity levels in fresh water fish, carp(Cyprinus carpio L.). The carp was exposed to single and combined pesticides of IBP, isoprothiolane and cartap for 48 hr at sublethal doses, $LC_{10}$ and $LC_{26}$. The detoxifying enzyme activities were assayed for the liver, head and gut of the carp. The enzyme activities we discovered were as follows: Both activities of CE and GST were increased at the sublethal doses but were declined by increasing doses. In the gut, we found that the CE activity had high levels in the treatment groups of isoprothiolane+IBP and isoprothiolane+cartap. In the head, the CE activity had high levels in the treatment groups of cartap, IBP and isoprothiolane. However, the GST activities were inconsistent in the head and gut of the fish. Also, the GST activity was declined by increasing protein contents. The highest LDH activity was shown in the isoprothiolane treated fish, while the lowest activity was observed in the isoprothiolane+cartap treatment.

  • This study was initiated with the need of studies to promote learning and use of collaboration skills that learners should have in collaborative learning in CSCL. The researcher carried out research on 96 students taking the course of 'educational methods and educational technology' in K collage to take a look at the impact of prior training on collaboration in CSCL and interaction of types of collaborative scripts. To answer the first research question, the scores of each group's chatting in collaborative learning process and messages represented in the process of task performance based on collaborative skills were measured and analyzed. In addition, to answer the second research question, the scores of each group's shared mental model formulation based on relevant evaluation standards were analyzed. This study results, First, there was no significant difference in the acquisition of collaboration skills caused by interaction of prior training on collaboration and collaboration skills and collaborative scripts. However, it turned out that types of collaborative scripts give significant impacts on acquisition of collaboration skills. Second, there was also no significant difference between prior training on collaboration and the formulation of shared mental model by the interaction of collaborative scripts. However, it is showed that types of collaborative scripts have significant impacts on the formation of shared mental model.

  • Online collaborative teaming, which has emerged as a new type of education in knowledge-based society, is being discussed actively in the areas of action learning at companies and project-based learning and inquiry-based learning at schools. It regards as an effective method for improving learners practical and highly advanced problem solving abilities, and for stimulating their absorption into learning through pursuing common goals of learning together. Different from individual learning, however, collaborative learning involves complicated processes such as organizing teams, setting common goals, performing tasks and evaluating the outcome of team activities .Thus, it is difficult for a teacher to promote and evaluate the whole process of collaborative learning, and it is necessary to develop systems to support collaborative learning. Therefore, in order to monitor and promote interaction among learners in the process of collaborative learning, the present study developed an extensible collaborative teaming supporting agent (ECOLA) in online learning environments.

  • This paper considers the cooperative control problem for multiple leaders and a single follower with interactions. The leaders are controllable, and the follower has interactions with all leaders and is controlled by the interactions. Then, we study the cooperative control problem that achieves the consensus by controlling the leaders. The leaders and the follower are modeled by the single-integrator and the double-integrator, respectively, and it is assumed that the interactions have the nonlinearities. The leaders can estimate the interaction between the follower and exchange the estimated information with neighbors. Then, this paper proposes the consensus-based cooperative control algorithm using the information exchange of the estimated interactions and the virtual velocity variables to achieve the velocity consensus. We analyze the convergence of the agents to the common state based on the Lasalle's Invaraince Principle. Finally, we provide the numerical example to validate the theoretical results.
