The purpose of this study is to examine factors affecting the life satisfaction of patients with hemodialysis in order to improve the quality of life for patients with hemodialysis. The subjects of this study are 168 patients who have undergone hemodialysis treatment in the hemodialysis rooms in D-city and C-providence. The data are collected between August 20th to September 5th, 2015. By using SAS 9.3 statistics program for data analysis, frequency, ${\chi}^2$-test, variance analysis and multiple regression analysis are conducted. Based on the analysis, it is found that family support(t=5.33, p<.001) and self-efficacy(t=3.52, p<.001) are statistically significant to the quality of life for male patients. Family support(t=2.58, p<.012) and adherence to self-care(t=4.08, p<.001) are statistically significant to the quality of life for female patients. With the study results, it suggests that nurses can help improve the affective and psychological stability of patients with hemodialysis by recognizing the factors affecting the life satisfaction of patients with hemodialysis by gender, developing and utilizing a nursing intervention.

In this paper, we propose impact factors and validity of blood variables on death of COVID-19 patients. The clinical-epidemiological data of 5628 COVID-19 patients, provided from Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency as day of 30th April 2020, were used. As results, impact factors of death were dementia, older age, high lymphocyte, cancer, dyspnea, COPD, change of consciousness, heart disease, high platelets, abnormal diastolic pressure and fever. The validities of blood variables for death were high in the order of lymphocyte, hemoglobin, hematocrit, platelet and WBC. Therefore, risk factors such as initial clinical characteristics, underlying disease and blood test results, could be regarded for efficient management of COVID-19 patients.
The purpose of this study was to examine the predictive relationships between the predictors and self-esteem among hemodialysis(HD) patients. Predictive correlational design, participants 154 HD patients in the Seoul. SPSS for Window 22.0 used to perform descriptive statistics, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Regression analysis. The strongest predictor was uncertainty (${\beta}=-.33$, p<.001), economy (${\beta}=.18$, p<.05), occupation (${\beta}=.17$, p<.05) and health status (${\beta}=.16$, p<.05) were followed. A total explained variance was 30.0% of self-esteem (Adjust $R^2=.30$). Managing or preventing uncertainty, providing vocational education in consideration of the dialysis environment, providing employment, increasing economic level, and maintaining good health status are factors that enhance self-esteem. Conducted to investigate the self-esteem of HD patients considering the machine-dependent characteristics, future, provide the data of the study to improve the self-esteem of HD patients. The purpose of this study is to identify nursing college students' knowledge, awareness and adherence to preventive behavior of blood-borne infection, and the factors affecting the adherence to preventive behavior of blood-borne infection. This study was carried out for 475 juniors in university who have completed clinical practice at the nursing college located in G city from December 1 to 15, 2017. The study findings showed that knowledge score, awareness and adherence to preventive behavior of blood-borne infection were 13.13 points(0-18 points), 4.18 points and 4.34 points, respectively. Nursing college students' adherence to preventive behavior of blood-borne infection showed a positive correlation between knowledge of blood-borne infection and awareness of blood-borne infection, The factors affecting the adherence to preventive behavior of blood-borne infection were found to be age, education experience, exposure, knowledge of blood infection, and the explanatory power of these variables was 16.3%. Therefore, it was found to be necessary to develop and apply a standardized education protocol in ward units for nursing college students to reduce the incidence of exposure to blood-borne infection sources in nursing college students.

This study was conducted to build a structural equation model explaining factors that affect hemodialysis patients' quality of life to test the goodness of fit of the model and identify directly and indirectly significant paths. To accomplish this, 230 patients receiving hemodialysis registered at study hospitals in G Metropolitan City and M City were randomly selected, and 201 were used in the final analysis. Data were collected using a self reporting questionnaire from February 1 to March 31, 2014. SPSS WIN 18.0 was used for descriptive statistics and correlation analysis of the general characteristics and for reliability analysis of the research tools. In addition, AMOS 18.0 was used for confirmatory factor analysis of latent variables, to determine the goodness of fit of the hypothetic model, and hypotheses testing. The results of this study were as follows: the fit of the modified model was 41.32, GFI = .96, AGFI = .92, RMR = .04, NFI = .96, CFI = .91 and TLI = .95. Twelve out of the 22 research hypotheses that were improved and improved were statistically significant. The results indicated that hemodialysis patients' quality of life was influenced directly by self-efficacy, depression, and self-care behavior, and indirectly by sleep disturbance, stress, fatigue, and family support. These variables explained 58.6% of the variation in quality of life. Overall, these findings suggest that nursing interventions for hemodialysis patients require strategies for managing patient depression and for increasing self-efficacy and self-care behavior to improve quality of life.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze factors affecting the meaning of life in patients on hemodialysis. Methods: The sample consisted of 176 adults diagnosed with chronic kidney disease at hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do who had been receiving hemodialysis for more than three months. The patients volunteered to participate in the study. Data collection instruments used were the Meaning in Life (ML) scale, Resilience scale, Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) and Fatigue scale questionnaire. The SAS9.2 version was used for descriptive analysis, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean total item score on the meaning of life scale was 133.68 (total score:180), which was low. There was a significant relationship between the ML scale and resilience, depression, and fatigue. Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that resilience, religion, depression, and fatigue were predictors of the meaning of life. Conclusion: These results indicate a need to develop nursing interventions to increase resilience and reduce depression and fatigue to promote the meaning of life in patients on hemodialysis.
This study provides basic data for nursing intervention to increase self management of hemodialysis patients by identifying the relation among their illness perception, physiological indicators, and self management. The participants were 134 patients receiving hemodialysis at a general hospital in Seoul. Data were collected by using a structured questionnaire and medical records. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis with the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. The significant factors influencing self-management of hemodialysis patients have been identified with 8 variables. The first one is registration for kidney transplantation (β=-.20, p=.034). Among sub items of illness perception are consequence (β=-.20, p=.031), treatment control (β=.19, p=.040), and illness coherence (β=-.18, p=.049). In addition, among physiological indicators are hematocrit (β=.38, p<.001), hemoglobin (β=.29, p=.005), BUN (β=-.25, p=.010), and phosphorous (β=.22, p=.033). These variables explained 26.3% for self-management of hemodialysis patients. In order for hemodialysis patients to improve their self-management, a concrete nursing intervention improving the treatment control among illness perception as well as improving the understanding of physical indicators needs to be provided.
