이 논문에서는 2002년 여름 태풍 루사로 인해 많은 재해 피해를 입은 강원도 강릉시 사천천 주변의 변화 정보를 추출하고자 다중 시기 원격탐사 자료를 이용하였다. 태풍 루사 이전과 이후의 다중 시기 원격탐사 자료를 이용하여 변화 탐지 기법을 적용하여 사천천 주변의 환경 변화 정보를 추출하고 분석하였다. 시계열 자료를 이용함으로써 태풍 루사로 인한 재해 현황 정보뿐만 아니라 그 이후의 복구 과정을 확인할 수 있었으며, 앞으로 재해분야에 시계열 원격탐사 자료의 많은 활용이 기대된다.

1960년대 이후 농촌의 주거 환경을 농가 인구와 연령 비율 그리고 경지 면적의 변화를 조사하여 이와 함께 농촌 주택의 변화라는 관점에서 문헌 조사를 통해 분석해 보았다. 농촌의 현실에 맞는 주거 모델은 아직 부족한 사실을 발견할 수 있었다. 농촌 주택은 농어촌 인구의 변화등 사회적 변화에 따라 그 요구가 시대별로 달라짐을 알 수 있었다.

본 논문에서는 1960년대 이후 농촌의 주거 환경을 농가 인구와 연령 비율 그리고 경지 면적의 변화를 조사하여 이와 함께 농촌 주택의 변화라는 관점에서 문헌 조사를 통해 분석해 보았다. 농촌의 주거 요구는 도시의 그것과는 많은 차이가 있음에도 불구하고 농촌의 현실에 맞는 주거 모델은 아직 부족한 사실을 발견할 수 있었다.

This study aims to increase understanding of current status and changes of academic libraries in South Korea in comparison with those of academic libraries in North America and United Kingdom (UK). The five-year statistics of academic libraries were collected from Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS), Association of Research Libraries (ARL), and Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL), and the authors compared the statistical indicators that are comparable to each other. The circumstance and performance of academic libraries in North America were much better than those of South Korea. In addition, the area of library buildings in South Korea was larger than those in UK, and they also had more books and carrels than UK libraries; however, UK libraries had more library staffs, expenditure on material purchase, and interlibrary loan requests. These findings imply that there should be more support on academic libraries in South Korea to increase library staffs and budget, which will invigorate library services and use.

Management of the existing traffic network and understanding current traffic conditions is the most important and effective way to solve traffic congestion. This research investigates the status of Korea expressway through the Speed-Flow-Density diagram and finds the best suitable queueing model for each area. Dynamic structure in the queueing model enables us to reflect the structural change of the road in case of traffic congestion. To find the best model and estimate the parameters, we use the Newton-Raphson method. Finally, we examine the road efficiency in view of the optimal speed and density using the conditional distribution of speed and density of a S-F-D diagram.
