It is an essential element for the establishment of image processing related systems to find the exact contour from the image of an arbitrary object. In particular, if a vision system is established to inspect the products in the automated production process, it is very important to detect the contours for standardized shapes such lines and curves. In this paper, we propose a prototype adaptive dynamic contour model, p-Snake with improved contour extraction algorithms by adding the prototype energy. The proposed method is to find the initial contour by applying the existing Snake algorithm after Sobel operation is performed for prototype analysis. Next, the final contour of the object is detected by analyzing prototypes such as lines and circles, defining prototype energy and using it as an additional energy item in the existing Snake function on the basis of information on initial contour. We performed experiments on 340 images obtained by using an environment that duplicated the background of an industrial site. It was found that even if objects are not clearly distinguished from the background due to noise and lighting or the edges being insufficiently visible in the images, the contour can be extracted. In addition, in the case of similarity which is the measure representing how much it matches the prototype, the prototype similarity of contour extracted from the proposed p-ACM is superior to that of ACM by 9.85%.
This case study examined the effects of synchronization-based group music therapy for improving peer interaction of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The participants were five children between the ages of 6 and 10 with ASD. A total of eight 30-minute music therapy sessions were conducted two times a week. During sessions, target behaviors (i.e., engagement in joint action, synchronized movements, eye contact, and initiation of social interaction) were observed and analyzed. Also, the PIPPS-P was completed by parents to identify behavioral changes in real-life environments from pretest to posttest. Following the intervention, all of the participants showed increases in synchronized movements with peers and attempts to initiate social interaction. In addition, parents rated their children's play behavior as being improved in their everyday living environment. These results support that synchronous movements between children with ASD, which were facilitated with rhythmic cueing, led to enhanced engagement in joint action. Considering that those movements are the basis for further social skills (e.g., play behavior), this study also indicates that synchronization-based group music therapy could be an effective therapeutic approach for improving the peer interaction of this population.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the predictive validity of behaviroal characteristics checklists that are widely used in Korea for identifying mathematically gifted students. Three most widely used checklists were selected and implemented to classroom teachers who could teach and observe gifted students in regular classes. The predictive validity of the tree checklists were explored by generating the correlations between their ratings using those three checklists and the performance levels of gifted students, which were measured by teachers in gifted classes. Findings of this study are the followings: First, all three checklists could statistically significantly predict the performance of gifted students in gifted programs, and the checklist B showed the highest predictability. Secondly, without the assistance by those checklists, teachers could not predict the performance level of gifted students. Lastly, teachers that were trained for educating gifted students could very effectively predict the performance of gifted students with the aid of those checklists while teachers without appropriate training could not at all even with the aid of those checklists.
Bayesian inversion is a stable approach to infer the subsurface structure with the limited data from geophysical explorations. In geophysical inverse process, due to the finite and discrete characteristics of field data and modeling process, some uncertainties are inherent and therefore probabilistic approach to the geophysical inversion is required. Bayesian framework provides theoretical base for the confidency and uncertainty analysis for the inference. However, most of the Bayesian inversion require the integration process of high dimension, so massive calculations like a Monte Carlo integration is demanded to solve it. This method, though, seemed suitable to apply to the geophysical problems which have the characteristics of highly non-linearity, we are faced to meet the promptness and convenience in field process. In this study, by the Gaussian approximation for the observed data and a priori information, fast Bayesian inversion scheme is developed and applied to the model problem with electric well logging and dipole-dipole resistivity data. Each covariance matrices are induced by geostatistical method and optimization technique resulted in maximum a posteriori information. Especially a priori information is evaluated by the cross-validation technique. And the uncertainty analysis was performed to interpret the resistivity structure by simulation of a posteriori covariance matrix.
In this study a practical guarding work is carried out for 180 minutes as the same as the actual guarding work that is done by nine students of the department of security services in K University in order to investigate changes in circadian rhythms during long hour guarding in bodyguards at practical sites. In the results of the tests of the heart rate variation and autonomic nervous system with the interval of 30 minutes using HRV (Heart rate variability), there are no significant differences in HRV and SDNN and that leads to maintain it stably during the guarding work for 180 minutes. In the case of TP which reflects the overall activity level in the autonomic nervous system, it shows a high significant difference (p<.05) at 90 and 120 minutes compared to that of normal states. Also, it shows a significant decrease in the level after a lapse of 120 minutes and that shows a decrease in the activity of the autonomic nervous system for the guarding work more than 120 minutes. Although differences in VLF, LF, and HF are not significant levels, these are influenced on the change in TP. The LH/HF ratio that represents the balance between the sympathetic nerve and the parasympathetic nerve shows a significant high level (p<.05) after a lapse of 30 minutes. Thus, it is considered that the concentration of the guarding work after a lapse of 120 minutes is decreased and there are some tensions and excitations after a lapse of 30 minutes since the beginning of the guarding work.

This study was conduct in order to provide information on formula optimization, salinity, and water content for commercialization of traditional buckwheat Soksungjang. To do this, we determined quality characteristics such as total microbial flora counts, amino-type nitrogen content, total polyphenol content, antioxidant activity, and performed a sensory evaluation. The moisture contents showed a gradual decrease during the fermentation period. There was no significant difference in all samples. During 70 days of fermentation, the pH showed a similar trend starting at a pH of 6, and dropping sharply to 5.5, except Experiment C (15% buckwheat powder in the meju, 10% NaCl, and 130% water in the total Soksungjang). On the other hand, total acidity increased regularly, however, its ranges were various points in all samples. The microbial population was reduced by 1~3 log cycle in all samples during the fermentation period. The content of amino-type nitrogen showed a gradual increase during fermentation, ranging from 160 to 213 mg% after 70 days. No remarkable difference in total polyphenol content and antioxidant activity was observed in all samples. In sensory evaluation, Soksungjang with 30% (control) and 15% (Experiment C) buckwheat showed a significantly higher overall score.

Since the crack in the surface of the concrete acts as the main reason influencing the life span of the structure, regular inspections and maintenance are required. The sealing required for maintenance of the concrete surface is a method of repairing the crack in the surface in the beginning, and is effective in preventing additional cracks and expansion that occurs with time. However, sealing on large sized structures such as tall buildings or bottom parts of bridges are difficult to ensure safety of the workers due to inadequate working environments. Due to this reason, the importance of the need for sealing automation for the maintenance of large sized concrete structures is emerging. This study proposes two control methods to apply robot systems to the sealing of cracks on the bottom parts of concrete bridges. First is the method of automatically tracking the trajectory of cracks. The robot gets the trajectory of the cracks using video information obtained from cameras. Comparing the previous several points and new point, the next point can be estimated. Thus, the trajectory of the crack can be tracked automatically. The other method is sealing by maintaining steady force to the contacting surface. The concrete surface exposed to an external environment for a long time gets an irregular roughness. If robots are able to carry out sealing while maintaining a steady contact force on these rough surfaces, complete equal sealing can be maintained. In order to maintain this equal force, a force control method using impedance is proposed. This paper introduces two developed control methods to apply to sealing robots, and conducts a Lab Test and Field Test after applying to a robot. Based on the test results, opinions on the possibilities of field application of the robot applied with the control methods are presented.
The purpose of mathematics education is to develop the ability of transforming various problems in general situations into mathematics problems and then solving the problem mathematically. Various teaching-learning methods for improving the ability of the mathematics problem-solving can be tried. However, it is necessary to choose an appropriate teaching-learning method after figuring out students' level of understanding the mathematics learning or their problem-solving strategies. The error analysis is helpful for mathematics learning by providing teachers more efficient teaching strategies and by letting students know the cause of failure and then find a correct way. The following subjects were set up and analyzed. First, the error classification pattern was set up. Second, the errors in the solving process of the function problems were analyzed according to the error classification pattern. For this study, the survey was conducted to 90 first grade students of ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$high school in Chung-nam. They were asked to solve 8 problems in the function part. The following error classification patterns were set up by referring to the preceding studies about the error and the error patterns shown in the survey. (1)Misused Data, (2)Misinterpreted Language, (3)Logically Invalid Inference, (4)Distorted Theorem or Definition, (5)Unverified Solution, (6)Technical Errors, (7)Discontinuance of solving process The results of the analysis of errors due to the above error classification pattern were given below First, students don't understand the concept of the function completely. Even if they do, they lack in the application ability. Second, students make many mistakes when they interpret the mathematics problem into different types of languages such as equations, signals, graphs, and figures. Third, students misuse or ignore the data given in the problem. Fourth, students often give up or never try the solving process. The research on the error analysis should be done further because it provides the useful information for the teaching-learning process.

One of recent concerns for super-tall buildings is how to manage hoisting plans and equipment efficiently. Disasters are frequently occurred in relation to electromotive hoists and cranes which are commonly used in construction sites. For construction lifts, particularly, it is highly important to conduct regular inspections or prepare against breakdown in terms of safety. However, unfortunately the reality is that regular inspections are only flatly conducted according to operating hours only. A lift, whose life span is subject to the complicated considerations such as operating hours, loading condition, and the like of each component, is far too invalid as a means of maintenance. As a way to resolve this problem and improve its convenience and safety for users, this study intends to calculate individual inspection interval for the main components of lifts by measuring their actual operating hours with sensing technology and analyzing their historical data. The findings of study include calculation of inspection intervals for the main components of lifts and classification of components to check by the actual operating hours of lift (40, 90, 130, 400 hours), which are drawn up into tables. This will make an opportunity to suggest efficient maintenance measures by enabling prevention of safety accidents and enhancement of safety for workers. Also, it will lead to increasing productivity of works by eliminating sources of delaying the term due to the breakdown of lifts.

The purpose of this study was to examine whether chicken-rearing activity is effective on the character, emotion and self-esteem of middle school students, as a pilot study for the development of an animal-assisted education program based on chicken-rearing activity. School was selected as the place where students have experience with raising animals before and no poultry farms were located near the school. The experimental group consisted of 11 students as the chicken-rearing group. The conducted activities were greeting chickens, cleaning henhouse, feeding them, and picking eggs up for five months. Character, emotion and self-esteem scales were used as test tools, and pre-testing and post-testing were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the study. Data collected were analyzed by using SPSS Win 25.0 statistical program. As a result, the character, emotional stability and self-esteem of middle school students who participated in chicken-rearing activity were improved. This study is meaningful in that the chicken-rearing activity proved to be effective for the character, emotion and self-esteem of middle school students and prepared an experimental case study for developing an animal-assisted education program based on chicken-rearing activity. It is expected to be useful as basic data of animal-assisted education for adolescents in school.
