Effects of Water-Repellent on the Color of Water Paint (발수제의 혼입이 수성페인트의 색에 미치는 영향)

  • Generally surface finishing of building is done with water paint that performs basic water repellency and resisting. When painting the exterior of the building with water paint, application method is easy and inexpensive and it has the advantage of building maintenance. But surface finishing of water paint is easy to discolored or aging due to ultraviolet light so the effect is not satisfying than expected. Therefore this study is to analyze durability of water-repellent paints mixed with water-repellents as outer surface finishing materials, and evaluate its feasibility. Color change and color different due to the accelerated time were tested, and the feasibility was evaluated based on the test results. The experimental results of color different, brightness different and chromaticity suggested that water-repellent paints mixed with water-repellents were suitable for finishing materials. Considering overall general durability performances, stable mixing ratios were 2, 5, and 8%.

Experimental Study for Establishing Rail Grinding Period in the Urban Railway (도시철도 레일연마주기 산정을 위한 시험적 연구)

  • The defects of rail head induced by fatigue and deterioration are mainly classified by two types ; one occurred on the surface of rail head the another occurred on the inner rail head. This study performed the surface irregularity measurement of rail head according to the passing tonnage in the urban railway. Also, we carried out microscopic structure test, chemical component test and micro-hardness test for the specimen which is the used rail on metro line by accumulated passing tonnage. As a result of this study, for new rail, it should be performed initial grinding in order to remove 0.3mm of de-carbonized layer. The preventive-cyclic grinding for preventing RCF defects is proposed two options : grinding by the whole line and grinding by specified sections.

  • This paper describes the checking results and some problems of guard lamps installed in the field. The guard lamp providing night security for people is installed outdoors and exposed to the natural factors causing secular ageing and the people's vandalism, etc., thus it is prone to get troubles in function. In fact, the guard lamps has been left without considering the fundamental measures in the legislative system in spite of the loss of lives due to the electric shock accidents repetitively taking place every year. This study arouses people's attention to the risk due to the lack of management and maintenance of the guard lamp by investigating the recent technology and the actual operating conditions and some problems and countermeasures were ultimately deduced. In this process, we reflected on the various opinions through fieldwork and had a couple of consultations with field staffs, manufacturers concerned and active officers with local autonomous entities.

Analysis of Carbonation for Harbor Concrete Structure (항만 콘크리트 구조물에 대한 탄산화 해석)

  • Carbonation is one of major factors influencing on the durability of concrete structure. This paper investigates the effect of carbonation on the soundness of harbor concrete structure and quantifies the influence of carbonation based on in-situation data tested at 369 points in 69 harbor facilities. The relationships between carbonation depth and cover depth, and between carbonation depth and compressive strength are studied and the failure probability of durability, that is the initiation probability of steel corrosion, is evaluated on the basis of reliability concept. The in-situation test results showed that the ratio of carbonation depth to cover depth was less than 0.2, and the carbonation depth increased with age. In most cases, the failure probability of durability by carbonation was less than 10%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the influence of carbonation on the durability of harbor concrete structure is smaller than other factors deteriorating the durability of harbor concrete structure.

  • The environment degradation of structural steel under high temperature is one of the key phenomena governing the availability and life of plant. This degradation resulted from the microstructural changes due to the long exposure at high temperature affect the mechanical properties such as creep strength and toughness. For instance, boiler tube materials usually tend to degrade, after long term operation, by precipitates, spherodizing, coarsening, and change in chemical composition of carbides. In this study, the material degradation under high temperature exposure was investigated by evaluating the carbide precipitation. The electrochemical polarization method was facilitated to investigate the precipitation and coarsening of carbides. It was shown by the modified electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (EPR) tests that the passivation of Mo-rich carbides did not occur even in the anodic peak current (Ip) which indicates the precipitation of Mo$_{6}$C was also observed. And it was assured that special electrolytic cell assembled in this research can be used for the detection of Mo$_{6}$C precipitation in the field.eld.

Comparative Verification of Accelerated Degradation Mechanism of Heat-Resistant Steel for High Temperature Plant with that Used in the Field (고온 플랜트용 내열 합금강 가속열화 기구의 현장 사용재 비교 검증)

  • Accelerated degradation mechanism of the heat-resistant steel for high temperature plant was analysed in terms of microstructure and hardness. In order to simulate the microstructure of the steel actually used at $540^{\circ}C$ in the field, isothermal exposure was carried out at $630^{\circ}C$ up to 4,800 hours. The artificial degradation mechanism was comparatively verified to successfully simulate degradation of the long-time used field material. For the artificially degraded specimens, databases including size and aspect ratio of carbide, chemical composition (i.e., Cr/Mo ratio) of grain boundary carbide were built up. These degradation parameters were suggested as fingerprints for PHM (i.e., prognostics health management) of power plants.

  • One of the important trends for condition monitoring in the 21st century is the development of smart sensors that will permit the cost-effective continuous monitoring of key machine equipments. In this study, an integrated in-line oil monitoring sensor assigned for continuous in situ monitoring multiple parameters of oil performance is presented. The sensor estimates oil deterioration based on the information about chemical degradation, total contamination, water content of oil and oil temperature. The oil oxidation is estimated by "chromatic ratio", total contamination is measured by the changes in optical density of oil in three optical wave-bands ('Red', 'Green' and 'Blue') and water content is evaluated as relative saturation of oil by water. In order to evaluate the sensor's effectiveness, the sensor was applied to several used oil samples in steel making industry and the results were compared with those measured by standard test methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to accomplished an in-site evaluation method for existing building insulation status using Infra-red camera and to consider improvement performance to prevent condensation and draw the optimum insulation design method for building using simulation tool. The research contents of this study are to evaluate validity and suitability of building insulation defect survey using Infra-red camera for apartment housing with temperature and heat flow pattern analyze method. Based on this research, the three corners, weak part in condensation, were selected in apartment building and conducted simulation by three-dimensional steady state. From the results, it is required to strengthen insulation design, and it is founded that existing insulation system typically applied to most Korean apartment housings have serious insulation defect that insulation is disconnected by structural components at the joints of wall-slab and wall-wall in envelope. Thus, it is considerate to need a concrete technology improvement.

  • 본 논문은 기존에 사용하고 있는 음성 및 저속데이타 서비스용 이동통신 중계기가 초고속 무선 데이터 서비스용 1xEVDO서비스에서도 적합한지 그리고 중계기 전송 특성상 문제가 있는 부분이 있다면 규격을 어떻게 개정할 것인지에 대한 연구에 관한 것이다. 우선 기존에 KTF무선망에 설치되어 있는 이동통신 중계기에 대해 종류별로 선정하여 중계기를 통한 1xEV-DO신호의 전송특성이 얼마나 열화되는지를 현장시험 하였다. 측정결과 대부분의 이동통신 중계기에서 출력된 1xEV-DO신호 전송률이 1xEV-DO BTS에서 직접 출력된 신호의 데이터 전송률에 비해 데이터 전송률이 거의 저하되지 않는 정도의 특성을 보인 반면 몇몇 이동통신 중계기는 그보다 훨씬 큰 10%의 데이터 전송률이 저하되는 특성을 보였다. 데이터 전송률에서 많은 특성 저하를 나타내는 이동통신 중계기의 특성을 분석하여 그에 해당된 규격을 개정하였고, 그 규격에 적합한 중계시스템을 개발하여 동일한 시험을 수행한 결과 그렇지 못한중계기들에 비해 많은 특성 향상을 보여주는 것을 알 수 있었다.

LED 등명기의 사용시간 경과에 따른 특성 변화

  • 우리나라 해역에서 선박의 대형화, 고속화와 선박교통량의 증가 및 항만과 해양개발 등으로 해상교통 환경은 급속하게 변화하고 있으며, 항로의 좌 우 측방 한계 표시, 항행위해요소의 표시 등의 용도로 사용되는 등 명기는 항만, 연안해역 및 내륙수로에서 통항 선박의 안전을 위하여 그 수요가 점진적으로 늘어나고 있다. 항로표지에 사용하는 등명기의 정기검사는 항로표지법 제31조 및 "항로표지용장비 용품검사기준(해양수산부고시 제2013-101호, 2013.5.8)"에 따라 3년 주기로 수검하여 합격품에 한하여 사용토록 규정하고 있다. 등명기의 정기검사 유효기간에 대한 검증을 위하여 설치장소, 해상여건 등을 고려한 현장시험을 통하여 등명기의 사용 기간에 따른 열화 특성을 조사하고 적정 정기검사주기 및 교체 주기에 대한 분석의 필요성이 대두되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 LED 등 명기의 실제 사용 환경에서 사용 경과 시간에 따른 광학적 특성, 전기적 특성 및 외관상태 등을 조사하고 분석하여 사용시간 경과에 따른 LED 등명기의 특성 변화에 대하여 기술하였다.
