First, both Gaisong Merchants and modem Korean companies have common functional core capability in the field of marketing, manufacturing technology, R&D, and human resources development. Second, both Gaisong Merchants and modem Korean companies have common organizational core capability. Third, both Gaisong Merchants and modem Korean companies have common infrastructures such as planning, finance, accounting and MIS. It constitutes the infrastructure of Korea's foreign trade sector. Fourth, both Gaisong Merchants and modem companies have common organizational culture in the field of management policy and philosophy. Actually, those factors are evaluated to be driving forces of Koera's success in foreign trade. • The purpose of this paper is to explore the application of Chinese traditional garden space construction principle studied by predecessors in modern park landscape, and to find more methods of traditional garden space construction inheritance and innovation through research. Tian Chaoyang's book "Fifteen Lectures on Chinese Classical Gardens and Modern Translation" mentions that Chinese traditional gardens are combining time and space, so he draws a brief pattern diagram containing the principle of the space construction. According to this principle of space construction, the researchers chose Qujiang Pool Heritage Park, which combines modern and traditional, then analyzed its spatial structure and and space elements. The results are as follows. The complex spatial structure of the park is composed of spatial boundary lines and spatial routes. The complex boundary space is composed of bridges, squares, plants, rows of buildings and other elements. The water space in the center of the park is designed in accordance with the traces of the historical water system, and its natural zigzag shoreline expands the water space. The central water space is divided into the big pool and the small pool, the Yanbo island and Bird island are created respectively. The building at the park boundary connects the park's interior and exterior. Most of the buildings in the park are located in the convex corner of the route or space. Through this research, it can be concluded that Qujiang park also applies the space construction principle combining time and space. And then, the garden elements of Qujiang park are recreating the history and culture of Qin, Han, Sui and Tang dynasties with modern methods, thus creating a park with Chinese regional characteristics. Since the Tang dynasty was the most prosperous period in Qujiang, the park was dominated by Tang culture. Through the research of this paper, we can see that the space construction principle of Qujiang Pool Heritage Park is the inheritance of the space construction principle of Chinese traditional garden. And the landscape element of Qujiang park is the landscape created by combining traditional history and culture, which is the innovative part of modern garden. Through this study, the creation of modern landscape with Chinese characteristics can provide some hints on the direction of inheritance and innovation.

  • In the context of integration of culture and tourism, the effective application of folk art in cultural creative products is of great significance to the development of local cultural industry. Xuzhou paper-cutting is the only world-class intangible cultural heritage project in the northern Jiangsu region of China. Its high humanistic value and artistic characteristics are widely used in modern art design. The application of cultural and creative products relative to paper-cutting in Xuzhou mainly focuses on two-dimensional decorative and ornamental products, which is short of diversity in form and not practical. In addition, it doesn't meet the aesthetic needs of living of modern people, This article studies paper-cut works by Wang Guiying and proposes principles for the design of cultural and creative products relative to paper-cutting by analyzing the typical "goose" pattern in Wang's paper cutting handcrafts. By exploring the application value of Xuzhou paper-cutting in cultural and creative product design and demonstrating the feasibility of the design principles via visiting experts, this article hopes to provide some reference for the modern inheritance and innovative development of paper-cutting culture.

  • The purpose of this study is to critically investigate the ways in which scholars and architects in Korea have theorised the tradition in Korean architecture from the early 20th century to the present. After opening the door to foreign powers, the most important issue to be resolved in Korea architecture has been the modernization of the traditional architecture. The successful modernization of Korean traditional architecture depends on successful theorization of the tradition. However, many attempts to theorise the uniqueness of tradition in Korean architecture had not been instrumental to the modernization of Korean traditional architecture. The reason why they were not successful lies in the lack of philosophical and methodological reflection upon how to approach the tradition. They were either trapped in ambiguous essentialism without systematic methods and theories, or simply inventing the tradition from the vantage point of the present. This paper argues that in order to theorise the tradition, one need to translate the tradition into contemporary architectural vocabularies. What is important in translating the tradition is not to directly apply contemporary concepts and perceptual frame of architecture to traditional architecture but to find the gaps and differences between the two. This will open hermeneutic spaces to translate the tradition into useful principles and vocabularies of comtemporary architecture.

  • This study focuses on the landscape architect Jung YoungSun to examine Korean landscaping. To do so, the research focuses on the artist's thoughts, her and Seoan's works, and related discourse (landscape architects, landscape works, and landscape discourse) up to 2014. Research was conducted through interviews (with Jung and related people), a literature survey, and the analysis of design works. As a result, four inflection points of Jung's landscape architecture career emerged, from the time she was introduced to landscape architecture, trained in it, and entered into practice, to the time she operated an independent office, showing different design trends and the depth of design thinking. In this process, excluding the early learning period, Jung's landscapes were categorized into three categories: contemporary landscapes, gardens, and traditional landscapes. Through these three categories of landscaping activities, Jung's achievements include the importation and internalization of modern landscapes (modern landscape theory), the establishment of her own garden theory and its practice (garden theory), and overcoming of tradition complexes and creative succession (traditional landscape theory). In sum, Jung's landscapes can be summarized as the practice of regionalists and auteurist thinking.
