In the design process of modern architecture, diagrams are most commonly used as tools of explanation and creation. Many architects use diagrams in the process of explaining or creating their own works, and the concept of programs and diagrams expressing them are accepted by audiences as part of creative work in the process of actual architectural design beyond the role of a medium. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the various uses of architects through diagrams in the construction process and the operation process of diagrams applied in the design process by defining diagrams by era as a tool to show the process of building space over the past 30 years.

사회적 변화에 따른 대중에게 열린 문화 공간이라는 현대 박물관의 사회적 역할과 기능에 대한 개념은 이미 보편화되어 있다. 다원화, 대중의 열린 교육 공간, 커뮤니티를 위한 공간 등 대중을 위한 지적ㆍ문화적 욕구를 충족시켜 주는 일상과 연계된 열린 공간으로의 변화가 세계적인 추세인 것이다. 하지만 대 사회적 역할을 수행해야 할 국내의 대규모 국ㆍ공립 박물관은 지속적으로 논의되어지고 있는 공공박물관의 역할을 수행하기에는 프로그램의 내용과 이를 수용하는 건축적 대응이 선진 외국박물관들에 비해 많은 면에서 미흡한 것이 사실이다. 따라서 본 글에서는 현대 박물관들이 관람객과 지역주민들을 위해 마련하고 있는 다양한 프로그램의 유형과 그 운영실태를 파악하고 이와 대응하는 공공서비스영역의 건축적 고려에 대한 사항을 분석하여 공공박물관(Public Museum)개념의 적용에 있어 도움이 되는 방법을 제안해본다.

In this study, "Young Architects Program" pavilion architecture, where many formal, material, structural challenges were examined, was selected for an analysis of the regional expression of various culture in five countries in different continents. For comparative analysis, five criteria of evaluation, symbolic, tectonic, contextual, tactile, environmental, were set through an analysis of previous studies. Through these five criteria, the methods of regional expression of architectural concepts in five different countries were compared to indicate the characteristics of the different culture in same theme and type of pavilion architecture.

현대 건축물 및 공공시설물들은 산업 및 건축문화의 발달과 더불어 다기능성 및 편리성에 중점을 두고 설계되어지고 있다. 이런 건출물에는 필요에 따라 여러 부대시설들이 설비되어져 있으며, 재난 및 비상의 경우 재실자들의 대피를 고려하지 않고 건축물의 효용성, 기능성에 중점을 두고 있다. 화재 및 비상시 재실자들의 대피에 관한 연구중에는 피난시간, 용도변경에 따른 밀집지역, 화재로 인한 대피 지연시간 등을 시뮬레이션의 방법으로 분석하고 예측하려는 프로그램들이 있다. (중략)

This study is focused on the indeterminancy of the contemporary social structure based on the philosophical concept of relationship. This study examines the multi-functionality of the cultural facilities and explores the architectural characteristics of cultural facilities in city environment. For this purpose, 1 examine the major cultural facilities in USA and Singapore. Recently, the inter-cultural communication methods have been diversified and the cultural facilities need to be designed to effectively accommodate the public's interests in these activities. It is also necessary to reexamine cultural facilities' functions in terms of how the multi-functionality facilities reflect the surrounding environment. This study also sheds a new light on the meaning of the relationships between cultural activity, and the cultural facility design. For this, I primarily look at the various design categories of cultural buildings and their main functions. Finally, I demonstrate how both cultural activity and cultural facility design elements are embodied in the city environment.

This study analyzes the place of modem architecture based on the place theory of C. N, Schultz. For applying Schultz's theory to the modern architecture, It is required to examine the modern cityscape, features of inner space of architecture and features of program. By analyzing the avant-garde architecture of Rem Koolhaas on such basis, the potentiality of placeness of modern architecture could be verified and the alternatives would be searched. It is inferred that the placeness features of Rem Koolhaas' public architecture is under the influence of the interpretation of program based on the humane background rather than the physical aspects of surroundings. The inner space shows the non-linear features, the metaphor of city. The obscurity of physical boundary illustrates the flexible features with ambiguous boundary. Consequently, the inner space expresses the surreal atmosphere that doesn't match the purposes of usage of architecture, the traditional concept. The outer shape is recognized as the by-product from the interpretation of internal program rather than it considered the surrounding context. The outer shape has the relatively simple formative shape and contrasts against the complicated inner space by using the non-physical materials. It is found that Koolhaas' architecture doesn't pursue the features of placeness of traditional concept. However, It is inferred that his architecture has the possibility of placeness by attaching the meaning through the social roles of each architecture. It gives the substantial suggestion to the modern architecture that can't easily acquire the placeness of traditional concept due to the environment of modern city.

The value of the Tosi-Hanok have recently been appreciated and accordingly the resultant studies have actively been conducted. This is an attempt to probe our architectural type haying identity through our traditional architecture in Korean society that pursues only something new. But owing to the infusion of foreign cultures and modernization, the archetype of Korean-style house has either been damaged or indiscriminately transformed without the establishment of its proper norms. The understanding of the value of traditional cultures has gradually increased, and accordingly effort to preserve Korean-style houses through legal regulations or systems have continually been made in terms of appearance or cityscape. For this reason, it is thought that it Is insufficient to present the direction or alternative to preservation in relation to the change or use of the interior space with the pattern of requirement for other programs other than dwelling. Therefore, this study attempted to find out the original meaning of Korean-style house by highlighting the advantages of Tosi-Hanok and supplementing its disadvantage while accommodating the diverse requirement for programs as contemporary residential space. And it was intended to propose the model for Tosi-Hanok that accommodates social changes in content while maintaining its meaning by analyzing the Tosi-Hanok with a focus on interior space and preserving historical continuity on its basis.

최근의 현대 건축에서는 재료의 물성과 구축성이 두드러지는 프로젝트를 많이 발견할 수 있다. 이러한 경향의 배경에는 사양한 요인들이 있을 수 있다. 그 중에서도 공간성(性)에 대한 근본적이고 회귀가 중요한 바탕이라고 할 수 있다. 피터 줌터의 건축은 현란한 조형적 효과, 표현만을 위한 기술적 장식을 사용하지 않는다. 대신 그의 건축은 장소와의 관계, 문화적 context 상에서의 맥락, 그리고 공간의 근원적인 경험을 주요한 매체로 사용한다. 그리고 이러한 특수성은 대체적으로 빛과 재료의 고유한 적용으로 나타난다. 이는 장소와 문화의 특성을 관습적인 형태나 화려한 표현으로 재현하는 것이 아니라 '공간감'의 구현으로 구축하는 방식이다. 본 논문은 피터 줌터의 건축에 나타나는 빛과 재료의 구축 방식, 그리고 공간의 경험에 대하여 살펴본다. 그의 건축 구축 방식은 일견 간단해 보일 수도 있으나 실제로는 프로젝트마다 고유한 빛과 재료의 적용과 텍토닉(tectonic)이 내재되어 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 이러한 점들을 자세히 살펴보고 그러한 구축방식이 궁극적으로 어떻게 공간의 경험과 관계를 하는지 고찰하는 것에 있다. 구체적인 사례는 Bruder Klaus Chapel과 Kolumba Museum으로 한정된다. 프로그램은 다르지만 빛을 사용하여 관람자의 공간경험과 공간인지가 어떻게 형성되는지를 다루면서 결론 맺는다.

This study is focused on the indeterminacy of the contemporary social structure based on the philosophical concept of relationship. The purpose of this study is to present the index of the space planning that the contemporary society demands through analysis of a characteristics of the indeterminate program. As the result, we got a characteristic and a design method of the following indeterminate programs. (1)The characteristic of the interior space programs are in such cases as combined, the continuance, the pile, the juxtaposition, mixing and interference etc. (2) The characteristics of space planning are multiple changes of the space occupation, various sight experiences, folding structure, expansion of flow space, the insertion of a between spates etc. (3) The characteristic of space design expression is addition of various functions tv unification of a structural element and an element of furniture.
